Republicans to Cut Social Security Benefits by 19% in 2016 – First Cut With Disability Payments
You lower
the benefits to the disabled; you make them homeless or starve. Then again some
with 19% cut benefits will then qualify for Medicaid supplemental and Food
Stamps.
Could cost
more - this phony accounting trip to eventually rob the whole Social Security
Trust Fund.
I have to
agree with one of the comments about how Republicans feel safe in their gated
communities – safe enough to fantasize and masturbate on all the people they
hate on like minorities, the poor, the aged, the disabled, children…
On the very first day of the new Congress, House
Republicans passed a rule, later adopted by the full House, which would prevent
the common practice of rebalancing funds. What this does is lay the groundwork
for a 19% cut in disability benefits.
That’s a horribly devastating cut
for individuals – most of whom are in their 50’s and in poor health – to absorb
beginning next year. In fact, since most disability recipients receive barely
$1,200 a month, a cut of nearly 20 percent could mean the difference between
affording food, medicine, clothing or paying bills. It is an unspeakable option
and one that we are determined to
prevent.
prevent.
Earlier this month, President Obama
suggested a budget that would do exactly what has been done 11 times in the
past and that is to rebalance funds between the two programs. The response by
the House to block that is merely an attempt to manufacture a crisis where none
exists.

Clergy Child Abuse Still Under The Radar With Pope Francis Who Throws A Bone To American Bishops and Their Obsession with Abortion and Not the Welfare of Children once Born except in Rhetoric
Clergy abuse
of children is still under the radar regarding Francis's thoughts and words on
a throwaway culture which has its merits as a concept.
Makes a great sound bite for the
media.
But once
born and not aborted, children in this world like in the church are on their
own to fend for themselves against the wolves of this world.
Words do not
change anything Francis.
Pope Francis on Monday called
abortion "horrific" and said it was part of a new "throwaway
culture" he said wasted human life as easily as it wasted food — his
strongest words yet on a practice that is a divisive political issue in the
United States.
Until now, Francis has appeared to have stayed away from strong
statements on the church's stands on moral behavior of individuals, preferring
to focus on more positive messages about the teachings of Jesus Christ and the
need to see to the poor.
His comments during the start of his papacy that the church need
not "obsess" about abortion and gay marriage bothered conservative
Catholics who see the issues as ones that the church ought to object to
strongly. On Monday, Francis put his own stamp on the church's long-held opposition
to abortion.
"It is frightful even to think that there are children,
victims of abortion, who will never see the light of day," Francis said in
what has become a traditional annual address to the Vatican diplomatic corps.

Russell Brand - A Very Interesting Article By Him On Margaret Thatcher - As Mother of the Nation? - "I Felt Sorry for Her Children"
..."What's going on there,
mate?" John asked a nearby chippy loading his white van. "Maggie
Thatcher," he said. "Comes here every week to water them
flowers."
The three of us watched as the gentle horticultural ritual was
feebly enacted, then regarded the Iron Lady being helped into the back of a car
and trundling off. In this moment she inspired only curiosity, a pale phantom,
dumbly filling her day. None present eyed her meanly or spoke with vitriol…
When I was a kid, Thatcher was the
headmistress of our country.
Her voice, a bellicose yawn, somehow both boring
and boring – I could ignore the content but the intent drilled its way in. She
became leader of the Conservatives the year I was born and prime minister when
I was four. She remained in power till I was 15. I am, it's safe to say, one of
Thatcher's children. How then do I feel on the day of this matriarchal mourning?
We are all on our own. Norman Tebbit, one of Thatcher's acolytes and
fellow "Munsters evacuee", said when the National Union of
Mineworkers eventually succumbed to the military onslaught and starvation over
which she presided:
"We didn't just
break the strike, we broke the spell." The spell he was referring to is
the unseen bond that connects us all and prevents us from being subjugated by
tyranny. The spell of community.
Those strikes were confusing to me as a child. All of the Tory
edicts that bludgeoned our nation, as my generation squirmed through ghoulish
puberty, were confusing. When all the public amenities were flogged, the
adverts made it seem to my childish eyes fun and positive, jaunty slogans and
affable British stereotypes jostling about in villages, selling people
companies that they'd already paid for through tax. I just now watched the
British Gas one again. It's like a whimsical live-action episode of Postman Pat
where his cat is craftily carved up and sold back to him.
You could never call Margaret Mother
by mistake. For a national matriarch she is oddly unmaternal. I always felt a
bit sorry for her biological children Mark and Carol, wondering from whom they
would get their cuddles. "Thatcher as mother" seemed, to my tiddly
mind, anathema…
In the Meryl Streep film, The Iron Lady, it's the scenes of
domesticity that appear most absurd. Knocking up a flan for Denis or helping
Carol with her algebra or Mark with his gun-running, are jarring distractions
from the main narrative; woman as warrior queen…
She is an anomaly; a product of the
freak-onomy of her time. Barack Obama, interestingly, said in his statement
that she had "broken the glass ceiling for other women". Only in the
sense that all the women beneath her were blinded by falling shards. She is an
icon of individualism, not of feminism.

Joe Arpaio’s Vigilantes Get Training and Photo Op-ed with Has Been Snow Bird Actor Steven Seagal
![]() |
Steven Seagal - Vigilante Trainer |
Has been third rate
actor Steven Seagal, who got immunity in 2003 to testify against members of the
Brooklyn and Staten Island Mob regarding mob questionable funding of some of
his early films, seems suitable material to do a NRA modern equivalent exercise
of the Nuclear Age’s “Duck and Cover” to be taught in our modern day schools on
Joe Arpaio’s Turf in the rich suburb of Phoenix, Fountain Hills Arizona.
FOUNTAIN HILLS, Arizona (Reuters) - Action film star Steven Seagal, who racks up big body counts in his on-screen battles with bad guys, took on a new role on Saturday, training posse volunteers for controversial Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio in how to use guns to protect schools in shooting incidents.
Arpaio, who styles himself as "America's Toughest Sheriff," enlisted Seagal to train his Maricopa County posse members at a school in Fountain Hills, a (a very rich) suburb northeast of Phoenix, with children used as stand-ins for scared students.
Seagal, a burly martial arts expert turned actor, guided 48 volunteers through various aspects of responding to a shooting, including room-to-room searches, and critiqued their work.
"I am here to try to teach the posse firearms and martial arts to try to help them learn how to respond quicker and help protect our children," Seagal said.
…About a dozen people protested the event.
"No gun should ever be in a school," said protester Cynthia Wharton, a Fountain Hills resident.
Arpaio's 3,450-strong posse of unpaid men and women has for years helped the sheriff target drunken drivers and illegal immigrants, and chase down fathers who are behind on child support.
Last year, Arpaio sent posse members to Hawaii to investigate the authenticity of Obama's birth certificate at the request of local Tea Party activists, a key Arpaio constituency.
A sometime resident of the Phoenix Valley and member of Arpaio's posse, Seagal, 60, starred in big-budget films in the 1980s and early 1990s…

Wayne LaPierre’s Family Not Effected by Gun Violence in America? – Gabby Giffords Cares About the American Family
![]() |
Safeway Parking Lot - N. Oracle and W. Ina Roads, Tucson Arizona |
Wayne Lapierre, the gun salesman, apparently lives
in a vacuum.
We do not know how Gun Violence affects his
family in its everyday reality and function.
The facts of his family, like his
religion, are a well-guarded secret. This, even after the NRA making the President’s
children the object of criticism of the Gun Lobby via the NRA talking a coded
racist message, commercial, about wasted U.S. taxpayers money on protecting “them” from gun violence in the White House.
It is a pity we do not know how Wayne really cares or
does not care beyond his saleswoman wife Susan, working on direct salary and or
commission for the NRA raising funds for NRA “philanthropy” work?
Gun Sales are good for the Wayne LaPierre
family even it is only a husband and wife childless, by choice, marriage?
“This is an important conversation for our children, for our communities, for Democrats and Republicans. Speaking is difficult, but I need to say something important. Violence is a big problem. Too many children are dying; too many children. We must do something. It will be hard, but the time is now. You must act. Be bold. Be courageous. Americans are counting on you. Thank you.” ~~ Former Arizona U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords

As you well know I have something of a personal stake, interest, in former Rep. Gabby Gifford, having written a piece a month after
her personal tragedy in Tucson alongside the tragedy of others by gun violence
and mental illness two years ago.
Gabby Giffords may not have children at the
moment, but she, unlike Wayne LaPierre and Company, cares about the well being
of the American Family.
Keep up the good work of caring about us little
Americans that do not seem to count for much at the NRA.
God bless you Gabby and your husband Mark.

What Video Games Does Wayne LaPierre Allow His Children to Play?
“Guns don’t kill people. Video games, the media and

FOX News kills common American decency with its manufactured fear, fear, fear!

Obama’s budget, with it bloated Pentagon budget does
kill people worldwide. Too many NRA assault rifles and drones in that budget.
You are right on that one Wayne.
How deep underground is the bunker your family hides in

Jolie and Pitt get Serious about Religion
Is this a novel approach? It certainly is global in scope if you want your children to take a possible interest in religion. A famous couple is doing just that with their many children.
I do not normally post all of another’s article. But I found this story fascinating.
Jolie and Pitt get Serious about Religion

Jolie and Pitt get Serious about Religion
ANGELINA JOLIE and BRAD PITT encourage their six kids to show interest in all religions - but refuse to steer them towards any particular faith.Somethings you just do not expect but are sometimes pleasantly surprised by.
The actress has revealed the family library is stocked with religious books and the couple never misses an opportunity to take the kids to places of worship all over the world.
Jolie tells Parade magazine, "Brad and I are raising our children to respect everyone. We have a bookshelf in the house that has the Bible, the Torah, the Koran, everything.
"We will take our children to church, temple, Buddhist ceremonies, Mosques, teaching them about all faiths. Whatever religion they choose, the choice will be theirs."
And the movie star insists religion is very important - because to some of the most desperate refugees she has met on her travels, it's the only thing they have left.
She adds, "I respect all religions. What I don't respect is when people use religion to attack others. I've met people across the world, in the middle of nowhere, who are just trying to survive and all they have is religion. In some way it helps them, and I wouldn't take it away from them." Serial Predators vs. Pride of the Pope
I know that you may think I am harping on the Vatican Sex Abuse Scandal too much. I have come to put some things in perspective. I started down this road with articles being sent to me by a person who is a part time lay minister in prisons.
That person, though he never said it directly, probably would realize or hear that a lot of people in prison were abused as children – physically, mentally, sexually. That they were not all abused by the clergy but in civil lay institutions, family care, foster care. That the end result of abuse is in many cases a wasted life of God’s creation on this earth. That to minister to those with the message of hope and the words of hope in Jesus’ teachings is the little bit one can do and work with in ministering to those in prison. Jesus rocks.
All our lives are full of regrets and dead ends. But most of us have had a better break in life because we were not directly abused in our growing up to adulthood. Enough said.
Here is a comment from a victim, "Anne" (she has a name Joe), of the California “serial predator” Stephen Miller Kiesle of California. The victim is a woman – was a girl when abused. I suppose Bill Donohue at the Catholic League might question if she was raped by pulling out his handy Holy Guide to Rape with its point system and measurements of penetration to decide what really, really is rape.
Perhaps that little girl only got slapped around and fondled a few times which would not be a Catholic rape etc. (sorry for my bitterness regarding the inhumanity of the Catholic League and its campaign to erase this clergy sex abuse scandal in the RCC). Right now Bill Donahue’s Neanderthal logic and voice seems to be the only voice of the RCC in America.
It is too bad that the MSM has been gender neutral about the victims of these priests in the RCC. It took a loud mouth comedian like Roseanne Barr to point out the true nature and numbers of both boys and girls victimized in cooperation with the hack bureaucrat hierarchy of the church.
Which leads me to comment on how many American Catholic organizations are dumbfounded by the sheer lack of depth in the Vatican in addressing the church’s fucked up way of hiding crimes against humanity (children).
Lack of Vatican communications strategy on scandal baffles pope's U.S. defenders
If not – Joe the Pope – this whole thing reeks of Nixon and Watergate. It was not that Nixon did a great criminal thing, it was minor. It was the coverup that was major and brought down the most powerful political figure on the planet. Nixon’s sin was Pride.
Your sin too is Pride. I do not wish to see this scandal go on and on like Watergate. But if your pride is more important than the good of the People of God – the Church – then I hope there is air conditioning in hell and perhaps your roommate will be Dick Nixon.
You can both spend eternity lying to each other about how great you were in life and how what a rotten deal they dumped on you. Have a nice life.

Most American organizations facing such a barrage of negative news would long ago have pulled together a crisis management team and made top officials available for interviews to explain their point of view. But the Vatican said such an approach is too commercial for the Church to adopt. "We are not a multinational enterprise, this is clear," the Rev. Federico Lombardi, a Vatican spokesman, said in a telephone interview. "The normal situation of the Church and the Vatican is to help the people to understand the teachings of the Church and the documents of the pope and not to sell particular products."Joe the Pope – Fire that asshole Rev. Federico Lombardi. Get your head out of your own ass and admit you made a mistake and start over. Fire dozens of crony bishops who facilitated these crimes to persist and fester.

Benedict XVI and Second-Hander Clergy

I am a visionary of sorts. I have a passion for looking at many different things. I look for the ways to rearrange the pieces of the puzzle of life into a better fit and or the perfect fit.
In terms of the present moral meltdown and officially sanctioned cover-up of rape and torture of children in the past decades, it is time to stop and realize that an institution that claims to be founded by God – that God has apparently been absent for long periods of time since the beginning of this particular church.
That the chaos of wars in Europe from Napoleon to Hitler in World Wars and tens of millions of deaths start with the collapse of the corrupt French monarchy around 1789 and propped up by the corrupt Roman Catholic Church. The Church of Bling, not the church of God, saw fit to bless and sanction cake and pastries on the fat King’s plate while the peasants starved outside the palace gates.
I love the French. Their arrogance and their anti-clerical atheistic attitude is a breath of fresh air after living a life in America with the holier than thou Cardinal Spellmans and Cardinal Codys and their boyfriends and mistresses. And all under the cover of celibacy which is of course not the problem in this global sex abuse scandal in America and Europe as stated by paid church apologists.
I am sorry that we have not heard from Latin America, Africa and Asia where there is little free press, unseen and unheard at present, from those other tens of thousands of victims screaming to heaven for justice.
And then there is the whole of the last forty years of Born Again Bling by Swaggard, Jim and Tammy, Richard Roberts, Pat Robertson, Falwell and dozens of other absolute worshippers of the Pope Bling CEO style mismanagement and misperception of the needs of humanity. Management first, people last and children don’t count. That is not Jesus!
The smug German pope sat on his throne on Sunday, Easter Sunday, and listened to an equally smug Cardinal Sodano state that the faithful are not affected by petty gossip.
Where is the petty gossip? We are talking conspiracy, crimes against humanity, not petty gossip you asshole in a red silk gown that costs enough to feed a village in Africa for months. Where is your perspective and your humanity?
If I address humanity and with an empathy for humanity then I must be a humanist and that is a dirty word in the Roman church. Traditions counts first and foremost. People can apparently go ---- themselves.
A so-called institution of God goes ape shit crazy and corrupt and then the human race has to clean up the mess. The rise of Napoleon after the fall of the corrupt church/monarchy shaped European history in the nineteenth century. The corrupt Russian church/monarchy and its ensuing revolution dictated the course of 20th century politics and brinksmanship. And then there is Mexico in the twenties etc. and on and on.
This is not an institution of God but of corrupt men. Let’s have a going out of business sale once and for all. Let’s just put the Vatican and its contents up for sale at Christie s. That is the best humanist thing to do for humanity.
Let’s stop giving a bunch of third rate “second handers”* another chance to hurt and cause so much pain in body, mind and spirit in the future.
As a visionary I connect the dots and I now quote from a comment on Ayn Rand’s concept of the mediocrity - presently in the Vatican and American Business as well. She seems to have perfectly fitted and predicted this present situation and business management cancer in the Roman Catholic Clergy.
* Second-Handers
Isn’t that the root of every despicable action? Not selfishness, but precisely the absence of a self. Look at them. The man who cheats and lies, but preserves a respectable front. He knows himself to be dishonest, but others think he’s honest and he derives his self-respect from that, second-hand. The man who takes credit for an achievement which is not his own. He knows himself to be mediocre, but he’s great in the eyes of others. The frustrated wretch who professes love for the inferior and clings to those less endowed, in order to establish his own superiority by comparison . . . . They’re second-handers . . . .
They have no concern for facts, ideas, work. They’re concerned only with people. They don’t ask: “Is this true?” They ask: “Is this what others think is true?” Not to judge, but to repeat. Not to do, but to give the impression of doing. Not creation, but show. Not ability, but friendship. Not merit, but pull. What would happen to the world without those who do, think, work, produce? Those are the egoists. You don’t think through another’s brain and you don’t work through another’s hands.
When you suspend your faculty of independent judgment, you suspend consciousness. To stop consciousness is to stop life. Second-handers have no sense of reality. Their reality is not within them, but somewhere in that space which divides one human body from another. Not an entity, but a relation—anchored to nothing. That’s the emptiness I couldn’t understand in people.
That’s what stopped me whenever I faced a committee. Men without an ego. Opinion without a rational process. Motion without brakes or motor. Power without responsibility. The second-hander acts, but the source of his actions is scattered in every other living person. It’s everywhere and nowhere and you can’t reason with him. He’s not open to reason.

Senator Bob Casey at King's College - May 17

While surfing the net for other things, I ran into one of those connect the dots things of things related or seemingly related or of having no relation at all. Am I making sense?
Not to harp much further on Bishop Martino of Scranton. He has been ragging on Senator Casey of Pennsylvania who is scheduled to speak at King's College in Wilkes Barre on May 17. Casey is pro-life but his voting record is many times pro-choice and not satisfactory to Vatican standards of what a good Catholic should say, do or think.
May 17 is the same day that good Catholics want to lynch Obama for giving a commencement speech at Notre Dame. Is May 17 some sort of Catholic Holy Day?
Back to Casey and King's College, if you cannot get a better moral man than Casey why not have a famous alumni of the same college speak.
I hear that Judge Mark Ciavarella might be available to replace Casey as a speaker.
Of course Judge Ciavarella is a “white collar” criminal who got caught cheating on his income taxes along with that other Judge Michael Conahan.
This is where connecting dots really gets a little interesting. In doing some research on Bishop Martino, his posted pastoral letters and his quotes on the Catholic Blogosphere posing as journalism, I do not see one condemnation of the this man Judge Mark Ciavarella by this very loud, very angry, very “moral” Bishop Joseph Martino of Scranton.
I know that Judge Ciavarella’s white collar crime happened over the county line in Lucerne County but it is still Martino’s religious bailiwick. And Wilkes Barre is a whole sixteen miles from Scranton. This is where I think of all those Germans after WWII who said that did not know about Auschwitz that was just down the road and they did not know what was going on at that facility of historic horrors.
I know that the moral leader of the Catholic Church in the Scranton Diocese did not know about the crimes against humanity of children being put in private “for profit” juvenile jails so that Judge Ciavarella and Judge Conahan could get bribes to fill up these “for profit” prisons.
I feel sad that the best way the Bush “Justice” department could deal with these monsters in judge’s robes who in essence trafficked in children - was to only let them get off with a mere seven years plea bargained sentence and on the white collar crime of tax fraud.
America’s total moral abandonment during these recent years is something everybody should recognize, pray about, ask forgiveness for, and turn over a new leaf to the country’s hopefully better moral future.
You speak in the public square Bishop Martino screaming your moral righteousness about Bob Casey or are obsessed about sex on Catholic Campuses or the general state of morality, and you will do everything in your power to strike down Roe vs. Wade.
I know that you have not addressed one of the most recent heinous crimes against humanity carried out within your moral jurisdiction and now I understand why you shout so loud on other matters. You shout to not hear the cries of the children whose lives where ruined by these judges, one of whom I know is the Product of the Diocese of Scranton’s Catholic grade school, high school and college education system.
You cannot condemn the whole system for the failure of a few. But being whole moral on some issues and then being half moral or morally absent on other issues makes for a very lukewarm morality. Last dot is connected.
You’re right Bishop Martino. Bob Casey is not good enough to speak at King’s College. He is perhaps too good.

That Celibacy Thing - Part Two
Someone sent me an article about a help center for priests in New Mexico in the 1950’s run by a religious order. The center had been started as a treatment center for alcohol abuse and emotional problems. The facility eventually also treated priests involved with sex abuse with children.
The main point of the article was to illustrate how there was an awareness of this heinous crime back then, over half a century ago. Letters and discussions of the topic were circulating among the American church hierarchy. Recommendations, such as not putting a priest back in the setting where he could molest more children, never got made into any formal policy within the hierarchy of the American RC church.
Individual and ambitious bishops apparently did not want to take any meaningful first steps toward revolving this terrible situation. No bishop wants to tell the RC institution or the emperor that management had a problem that it could not solve. Nobody wanted to tell that Emperor that he was not wearing any clothes. Only a few good “yes men” need to apply for the position of bishop.
I recommend that you read it:
Catholic bishops warned in '50s on abusive priests
There was such a large volume of Catholics in those years of the 50’s that a few bad priests got unnoticed on the public side except if you knew the victim etc. The buck had to eventually stop somewhere - and the underlying issue is "celibacy".
Celibacy is not chastity. Celibacy is only an agreement not to marry - and not have legitimate heirs to claims deeds or church property etc. Considering all the legal hassles the church thought it would avoid with this medieval policy of celibacy, I think it may be cheaper in the long run to let priests marry and in a way eliminate some of the reason that these sick bastards, operating under an institutional blind eye, hit on children etc.
Celibacy, besides meaning both celibacy and chastity, no doubt is also a code word of sorts for protecting those who cannot control their sexual needs and appetites. Is it a code word for that “sex topic” thingy? Don’t touch! Bad mojo! Bad juju! How immature!
This passing the buck obviously went on for decades until the numbers in the ranks of the faithful thinned and individual crimes got more notice. This is I believe a worldwide phenomenon. It is only because it is so easy to sue people in the USA that this whole abuse thing spun out of control and fell into the public forum.
The issue(s) under the heading of “Celibacy” must be separated, dissected, discussed and possible solutions recommended and in an open forum of both hierarchy and laity. This RC Celibacy thing needs an intervention. The dysfunctional nature of this present RC corporate culture matter regarding sex interrupts, disrupts and interferes with the energy flow of Christ’s true mission statement for his church.
John Paul II formally dumped this American mess into Cardinal Ratzinger’s lap in 2002 when this American mess blew up in the press. Ratzinger doesn’t understand the scientific life saving benefits of condoms. Both as Cardinal and Pope, Ratzy has not dealt with the problem. It has been swept under the bumpy carpets in the papal apartment waiting for some other pontiff in some other decade to maturely deal with it.
God help the planet and protect us from all failed corporate CEOs!
