The governors of New York and New Jersey, defying the unanimous votes of both their Legislatures, on Saturday rejected a bill aimed at curbing political interference and patronage at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, more than a year after lane closings on the George Washington Bridge set off a scandal that looms over the agency to this day.
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York, a Democrat, announced the
veto of the bill just hours before a midnight deadline and in the face of an
almost unheard-of bipartisan support.
the authority is governed by both New York and New Jersey, approval is needed
by both legislatures to make changes in its structure and operations, on
Saturday night, the anger at the governors’ rejection of the bill was felt on
both sides of the Hudson River.
“It’s appalling and disappointing,” said
Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle, a Democrat of Bergen County, N.J., who
sponsored the bill in Trenton. “Today’s actions clearly demonstrate both
governors want to continue the same old scandalous problems at the Port

Any long term reading of this blog has a sense of who and what I am about. I am A-religionist – without religion and or dogma in any formal sense. In other words, my place of worship of the divine is not listed in any “yellow pages” (an obsolete term?).
Following this blog you will know how I have painstakingly tried to deprogram myself from twelve years of Roman Catholic brainwashing from my youth.
As a tangent to that, I have been very active in blogging about the secret buggering cult of the RC priesthood and especially that of my native Philly and all the recent four archbishops there and their ambitions first, rather than truth and justice.
BTW the parish I grew up in and the high school there are now defunct. They are in the inner city and the RC church in Philly no longer seems to administer to the poor in terms of material or spiritual needs, that is if you have a zero balance in your check books or a poor credit rating on the new Global Corporate (Dehumanized) Spreadsheet.
Another of my support blog articles are for the civil rights of the LGBT community and their struggle for basic human freedom and human rights in the United States. This in solidarity with friends and family members over the years that have not had these basic rights.
Aside for my religious beliefs and or non-beliefs, the essence of my spiritual and or soulful sense is expressed here especially when the new right wing GOP “Christian” religion with it hate and bigotry and economic inequality are touted on the public stage by public figures and or their stooges – touted as something Jesus taught – which he did not.
This Cultural Christian tries to adhere the basic notion of the Love thy Neighbor and try to Care for you Neighbor teachings of Jesus who IMHO was only human in a supreme evolutionary sense but definitely not a divine being and unlike the Emperor /god /saint /general Constantine, the founder of the Roman Pagan Army “Christian” Faith.
Also, in this blog, I have illustrated other faiths as part of trying to piece together the pieces of the puzzle of a new global culture emerging in a new global town square sphere of cultural consensus.
So, I was mildly annoyed yesterday when someone hiding behind the “anonymous” label attacks me for my simple asking of the question – “What is the Koch Brothers religion?” – it is a question that is not be found on the Internet – an idea and or fact vetted out of the equation of discussion with John Birch shadowy Cult Figures who peddle right wing influence in this country to the detriment of the common good IMO.
Have you ever read your screeds. You come across as one dumb fucker, who is jealous of other people's money. Stupid shit. Rabble rousing crap. Lazy fool. They give more to the poor than you'll every know. You, on the other hand, deserve only scorn.

So if commenter 7, “Anonymous 3:05 PM” from December 29, does wants to man up or woman up and put their name on their slurs against my practice of both First Amendment Rights of free speech and religious freedom, so be it.
But can you imagine the impact on American History if phrases like “Give me liberty or give me death!” were in the final analysis attributed only to “AnonymousVA1775” – LOL
I woke up this morning remembering the slimy shot for Anon305 which brings me to the fact that I have checked this before and with my “What religion is the Koch Brothers?” article I have close to six thousand hits and it does not (strangely, oddly) show up on my top ten blog items of all time.
I know that Google which I believe controls my blog stats is always changing around the so-called screening algorithm that decides what gets choice place on Google Searches. I did not know that perhaps sensitive comments about John Birch Cult Leaders could be buried in terms of stats and not appear on blog stats published to me by Google???
…between my Pat Roberson white trash Green Bean Holiday Casserole Recipe and Quaker Cross – A Symbol For Compassion blog articles listed as 6320 and 5759 hits respectively on that inaccurate Google Top Ten Blog all-time list sent to me everyday.

Italian Governors Cuomo (NY) and Christie (NJ) Vow to Protect Corruption and Cronyism at NY-NJ Port Authority
|Pro-Corruption I-talian Governors Christie of New Jersey and Andrew Cuomo of New York|
Which leaves us with the question – Was Ted’s Mom legally married to Rafael Cruz Sr. on December 22, 1970?
How long was Eleanor Darragh Wilson in Canada prior to Ted’s birth?
Was the reason for a quick trip to Calgary the means to get what looks like a legitimate birth certificate.
Anglos and Hispanics have entirely different points of view on legitimacy. Being born out of wedlock is more an English common law term that recognizes DNA connection but probably denies a claim on the father’s estates and titles etc.
That in many Hispanic cultures, if your supposed biological father puts his name on your birth certificate, you have a father (period.).
Hide your Kids, dogs and cats…and turtles too!
McConnell delivered a red meat speech to the conservative activists, pummeling President Obama and Democrats for having done “next to nothing for the little guy,” failing working families, and flaunting the Constitution.
“The president of the United States is treating our Constitution worse than a placemat at Denny’s,” McConnell said.
He ended with a pledge to live up to conservatives’ expectations if he is re-elected to the Senate and the Republicans take control of the chamber.
“If I’m given the opportunity to lead the U.S. Senate next year, I won’t let you down,” McConnell said.
John Boehner and his tea party cohorts buoyed by the billions of dollars from the Koch brothers and the worst Supreme Court decision in history (or 2nd worst) are on the brink of shutting the great American experiment in self-government down. They no longer have to depend on you for campaign money and we already know that voting machines are very open to hacking. This has been proven over and over. Throw in laws aimed at stopping Democrats from voting and districts so gerrymandered that they almost can’t lose and you have a group that has no reason to do what voters want, because they really barely need them.

|Eric Garner Death Site - Bay Street|
Google Street Map
It is hard sometimes to explain Staten Island to strangers. The area where Eric Garner was brought down to keep the streets clean of poor people selling loosie cigarettes or joints is a seedy area about three blocks from the Staten Island Ferry and Borough Hall.
Downtown Staten Island if you can call it that is a bunch of public buildings, small businesses, a Technical High School, an academic High School, courts, all up against the side of a hill, small mountain, steep as any street in San Francisco.
It is an area of high foot traffic during the day from those various high schools and courts. The Ferry building itself is a major transportation hub, the primary one, and second to that is first stop away from that transportation hub to areas south and west along Bay Street, the main coastal road to the Verrazano Bridge and Victory Blvd (the old Philadelphia Pike) - where Eric Garner was hanging out in his local free lance business activities.
Eric Garner was hanging around a seedy urban strip mall with hair dressing shops, fast food, Gypsy Cab Co., etc. and the center of activity across the Tompkinsville Park.
This used to be the center of an old forgotten Victorian era town when Staten Island was still mostly farmland and small burb towns until 1964 and the opening of the Verrazano Bridge. Even though looking seedy and having the feeling of a slum, the average house in this neighborhood, probably an old wood frame shingled house is $400-500K among the many apartment buildings. Location. Location. Location.
Across the park is the local Welfare and Food Stamp Office for the Borough in an old car dealership building on Bay Street.

A whole lot of activity during the day all about. And a lot of police in police cars patrolling from the nearby 20th Precinct Building on Richmond Terrace – same street – Bay street with Borough Hall (local City Hall - Marriage Licenses, building permits etc.) at the Ferry Terminal the dividing line on that main coastal road on the North Shore of Staten Island.
An area you might walk through if you want to, safe enough, but after 5 PM you don’t want to walk around the area.
A lot of police and firemen live in Staten Island. No indictment was possible on this Police home turf in their burbs and $700K+ houses beyond this coastal slum town by the Ferry.
Pan Around per Google from Eric Garner’s run in with the former mayor’s policy to sweep all poor people off the streets from 9 to 5 in this local hub of public buildings and government functions.
