Rand Paul To Give Original Speech in Gettysburg on November 19 - Disputes Plagiarism Charges on Stealing Lincoln's Speech - (Gattaca-Gate?) LOL

Rand Paul will open with these original lines below assembled by his crack intern Senate team, graduates of Triple Kristian University (T-KKK-U) etc.

Rand Paul denies that there is any proof that Lincoln even bothered to give a speech at Gettysburg 150 years ago...

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal....

(for the sake of argument I attribute disputed passage above to Wikipedia as source...)

Gov. McCrory Proud of Racist Indian Mascot of His Alma Mater Catawba College? Board of Trustees Member

I thought that the self-serving account of the Great Governor of North Carolina Pat McCrory in Wikipedia had no link in the body of text regarding his Alma Mater Catawba College.

So I thought that maybe there is no write up on Wiki so I did a further search on Google and found that yes, there is a Wiki write up on Catawba College.

Considering that McCrory has an honorary title from Catawba and is a current member of the Board of Trustees makes me wonder if there is something in the self-serving Wiki Tea Party misinformation, disinformation, omitted by link information, what is Pat McCrory hiding or Masking by default on Wikipedia?

Apparently there is a simmering, festering, on the back burner the issue, possible racist issue of the use of Indians as mascots for Catawba sport teams.

That the NCAA has a two faced Janus ruling, not unlike their approval/disapproval policies with child abuse at Penn State, apparently Catawba can trash Indians and their heritage if they get some Indian Tribe official to $ign off on the racism.

The Gospels and Sarah Palin

Lame Stream Media grifter Sarah Palin got caught the other day by a reporter who asked her what she thought of her tour of Paul Revere’s House in Boston.  She then went on in casual campaign chit chat to describe how Paul Revere had warned the British with shots and bells or something to that effect.  Her fans then went into Wikipedia to hack the story of Paul Revere to match Saint Sarah’s view of what I believe is sacred American History.

Well anyway her boss, Roger Ailes, inventor of Lame Stream Media Fox News, in his bulletproof, bombproof office, in fear of gays and or blacks, has sent her on a Vacation to Nowhere on a bus leaving a huge carbon footprint in perhaps the hope that one of her insane stalkers gets off a few rounds of sacred second amendment sacramentals, that she of course survives, wonder woman, saint, and he can have Cheney’s old office during Sarah’s first term as Prez.

This is not the America I grew up in.  The nuts are running the insane asylum.

I have to think, wonder, how the gospels possibly got distorted in similar fashion after they were verbally transmitted and then in writing transcribed to suit the decade and or the ego of the current saint in charge of the Jesus cult.

“and on this nitwit (Sarah Palin) I will build my whats-sha-ma-call-it”.(Roger Ailes)

HMOG!?

Have a nice day.

Sarah "spite fence" Palin - not a good neighbor

There is a local urban legend in Philly about the wall surrounding the infamous Girard College founded 1833. The boarding school, grades 1-12, originally for white male orphans has a twenty foot wall around it. The Civil Rights laws over time opened the school to all races and sexes.

If one looks at the wall and somebody says that the wall is twenty  feet high, it is one of those barroom bet things like a phrase in the bible and “Did Delilah cut Samson’s hair”? (She did not by the way. She had someone cut it for her.)

It’s a sucker bet if you take it. While only 10 feet of wall is visible above ground, another 10 feet is built underground. Why? The last will and testament of Stephen Girard, a rich French Pirate, stated that the wall around his orphan asylum was to be 20 feet high.

Architecture and good taste and a little bit of slack from the estate lawyers came up with the final 10 feet above and 10 feet below aesthetic solution.

So Sarah and Todd went mooseshit on Facebook about Joe McGinniss, their new next door neighbor, a famous and successful writer who goes to the heart of political matters as in The Selling of the President 1968, a best seller and now standard political science tome in most college courses to this day.

Apeshit happens. But before good taste or a level sober (do the Palins drink?-a lot?) attitude could set in about a new Neighbor, the Palins go gorrillashit over the situation. The Palins have extended their wooden fence facing the rental property up to 14 feet high.

Not that Joe is the real problem, the Palins were, are bad neighbors with the present owner of the rented house.

Palin's neighbor rented to author for revenge
(Newser) – As the Wasilla world turns: It seems Sarah Palin's next-door neighbor purposely rented her home to author Joe McGinniss because she wanted to exact some revenge. She "was renting her house and sought out the author because the Palins had crossed her (owed her money for renovations she had done at their request and never paid her for)," the author's son explains in an email, which Ben Smith shares on his Politico blog.
The American Poet Laureate Robert Frost said that “good fences make good neighbors”.

Jesus said “love thy neighbor”. Speaking of which Sarah religious affiliation on Wikipedia keeps changing. In 2006 she was Protestant, last year she was Pentecostal, now she is “non-denominational Christian”. Jeez, she is all over the board. In all deference to her, her Wikipedia site seems to be changed every fifteen minutes by herself or her tea bagger friends.

I have to wonder what metaphoric 14 feet of fence lie below ground for America’s favorite dysfunctional family, the Palins of Wasilla, Alaska and possibly representing anger, hate, fascist xenophobia, and dirty family Peyton Place secrets.

I know Joe McGinniss doesn’t need the bread and I doubt, as rumors have it, he went through their garbage looking for a used pamper as a piece of useful DNA evidence.

When the numbers $$$ start coming out about McGinniss’ book, I think the local truth of Trig will finally surface and in traditional hillbilly fashion we will all finally know if his brother is his father and we can finally identify the real birth mom.

In the meanwhile Joe, if anybody from the Palin compound bunker shows up with cookies and lemonade as a peace offering – RUN!

Community Christian Capitalism at work

I have been watching a travel show on PBS for years and hosted by Rick Steves.

I ran into his bio on Wikipedia and I was just floored by one item listed there at the bottom.

The simplicity of the idea and the scope and depth of an idea of how someone could use their retirement funds as a relatively safe, conservative way to serve mankind, the community and in the spirit of the Christ. I am dumbfounded sometimes by creativity or the random acts of seeming kindness I sometimes run into in this world.

The idea is simple. You get a lot of volunteer organizations like the YMCA and Rotary Club involved to house homeless mothers. Your initial investment is the investment of your retirement fund to buy an apartment building. You are not giving it away. You are leasing it to a community need for a decade or two. With insurance and maintenance your investment is tangible and safe.

You give a pathway for a flow of semi-charitable good works and outside the realm of direct organized religion or government. Religions have a tendency to become bureaucratic and sad to say in some instances corrupt in the distribution of alms and charity to people. Government is government.

Why not do charity and or good works on your own and after fifteen or twenty years take back your investment plus accumulated unearned equity. I do not want to put a label on this such as passive good works or compassionate brotherhood. Compassionate conservatism as a term in the secular sense has perhaps failed terribly and gotten us into two wars overseas.

In 2005 Rick and Anne Steves purchased a 24-unit apartment complex in Lynnwood, Washington and fixed it up to serve as transitional housing for homeless mothers and their children. The Steves invested much of their retirement nest egg and are allowing free use of the complex for 15 years--leaving management responsibilities to the local YWCA Pathways for Women, while Rotarians in the Edmonds Noontime Rotary Club help maintain the buildings, do grounds upkeep, and provide everything from the furniture to the flowers. In addition, the club raised USD $30,000 in donations to build a play structure for the children of Trinity Place. About 100 mothers are expected to ultimately live there.

Steves is an active Lutheran, and has written and hosted educational videos on subjects such as Martin Lutheran and the European Reformation of the Church. He also raises funds for Bread for the World. -- Wikipedia

Think of all the secular no-religion Americans who have seen their 401ks shrink and pension funds evaporate. Think of the bemoaning of “my individual piece” of Wall Street melting away.

Think of all the mutual funds invested in China and Aluminum mines with people making slave wages. Think of the returns on investment of China put into U.S. Treasury notes to feed our national debt and our insatiable godless consumerism. Think of a China that individually dominates or dictates out national policies, really a country we are afraid to challenge at the moment. Think of a godless China that sits on the United Nations Security Council that will veto any humane actions on Darfur to protect its very real national investments in Sudan.

Think how we as individuals do not have to invest in some godless macro Wall Street ponzi schemes in the future. Think about taking the time out to touch and research the needs of your community. Think about investing your money, your nest egg, in the future of the welfare and best interests of your community.

Think of what Jesus would do with your investments.

While you would like to give away everything to the poor, why not just share with them for a while and make the world a tiny bit better. The world is better because you touched the world and the world seems to matter right in front of your eyes.

I would label this as Community Christian Capitalism because it is capitalism. It also serves the community. It most definitely has a Christian flavor.

You are making a cash investment to get back a cash return. Instead of instant millions in immediate return, you get a safe old fashioned rate of return on cash investment which also serves the needs of the community. There is something about this scheme that touches upon the things missing today in over-organized religion or failed government. It has to do with people and community needs and meeting the needs of the less fortunate in a humane and dignified manner. Churches and religions used to touch the earth and communities.

In an abstract dominant secular world “we have to touch people” again. We need to serve others in order to serve our own spiritual selves and needs. This is humanity. This is Christ!
