Susan LaPierre’s NRA Women's Leadership Conference in Houston a Complete Success

NRA sometimes lobbyist and sometimes shadowy beard(?) wife of Wayne LaPierre raked in big bucks at her (Susan LaPierre's) NRA Women’s Leadership Conference and Auction at the exclusive River Oaks Country Club in Houston, charity money to be distributed to NRA like TAX-FREE charities like new gun development and gun education for women, kids and toddlers. All that and scheduled sexy quest speaker Sean Hannity too. omg!

One thing not discussed by all the merry NRA trophy wives in Houston at Susan’s luncheon were the statistics of death associated with free market firearms and their natural sequences of collateral damages to the stupid masses (below).

After the Luncheon, the ladies went on to do something equally really important for the Houston community and economy, they limo-ed over to a shoe sale at Neiman Marcus. lol

The following numbers tell the tale:

§  33: The average number of people murdered with a gun in the United States every day.
§  283: The average number of people shot in the United States every day.
§  40: The average number of children and teenagers shot in the United States every day.
§  10 times higher: The accidental-firearms death rate among children in the United States compared to other high-income countries.
§  31,000: The average number of homicides, suicides, and fatal accidents involving firearms in the United States every year.
§  6.9 times higher: The homicide rate of the United States compared to 22 high-income countries.
§  85 percent: The percentage of attempted suicides with a gun in the United States that result in fatalities.
§  8 times higher: The firearm suicide rate among children in the United States compared to other high-income countries.
§  500 percent: The percentage that the risk of homicide increases when a gun is present in a domestic-violence situation.
§  57 percent: The percentage of mass shootings that began with the targeting of a girlfriend, spouse, or former intimate partner.
§  63: The number of U.S. law-enforcement officers killed with firearms in 2011.
§  6.6 million: The estimated number of guns sold each year in the United States without a background check.
§  80 percent: The percentage of convicted criminals who acquired the guns used in their crimes through a private transfer.
§  90 seconds: The amount of time it takes to complete 91 percent of background checks.
§  38 percent lower: The number of women killed with a firearm by an intimate partner in states that require background checks for all handgun sales, compared to states that do not require such background checks.
§  2.5 times higher: The average export rate of crime guns in states that do not require background checks for all handgun sales at gun shows, compared to states that do require such background checks.

Romney’s Bain Capital Owns Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage

Great Salt Lake Seagull

America's Hate Radio Network Owned by the Mormons?

Wouldn’t it be great if a Republican presidential candidate could just buy the support of just about every major conservative talk show host in America?  Well, it may not be as far-fetched as you may think.  Clear Channel owns more radio stations (850) than anyone else in the United States.  They also own Premiere Radio Networks, the company that syndicates the radio shows of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck, among others.  Needless to say, Clear Channel basically owns conservative talk radio in the United States.  So who owns Clear Channel?  Well, it turns out that Bain Capital is one of the primary owners of Clear Channel.  Yes, you read that correctly.  The company that Mitt Romney ran for so long is one of the “big bosses” over virtually all conservative talk radio in America.  Of course Mitt Romney is not running Bain Capital anymore.  He is a “retired partner”, but he still has a huge financial stake in Bain Capital.  We’re talking about millions upon millions of dollars.  If you doubt this, just check out page 34 of this public financial disclosure report.  So if you have been wondering why so many conservative talk show hosts are being so incredibly kind to Mitt Romney, this just might be the answer…

Clear Channel, through its subsidiary, Premiere Radio Networks, auditions and hires actors to call in to talk radio shows and pose as listeners in order to provide shows, carried by Clear Channel and other broadcasters, with planned content in the form of stories and opinions. The custom caller service provided by Premiere Radio ensures its clients they won’t hear the same actor’s voice for at least two months in order to appear authentic to listeners who might otherwise catch on.

(got to keep those honest Mormon actors employed?)

The Bush Cheney Inquisition

One mans’s torture is another man’s pleasure???

There is a lot of vetting going on now in the media and the Congress about that torture thingy. Sean Hannity of FOX News has volunteered to be water boarded for charity to show that the near drowning experience is not torture but a frat house prank kind of thing. Keith Olbermann of MSNBC has offered $1,000 a second for every second that Sean does this easy frat house thing for charity. Poor Keith is going to spend a fortune on Sean who will proving that he is no pussy. Good fun for TV, the media circus and ratings.

Water boarding as torture goes back to the Spanish Inquisition which came into place over five centuries ago to weed out heretics but in reality it was a ethnic cleansing tool to get rid of Jews and Muslims from Spain who had been in Spain for centuries.

If you cannot get a modern day picture in your head about this Inquisition or torture thing I suggest the movie “Goya’s Ghosts” which shows torture and the Inquisition of about two centuries ago. Yes heretics were still being rounded up and tortured up to 1834 in Catholic Spain. Natalie Portman’s character in the movie gets caught up in Church politics and torture just because of her not liking a particular dish in a restaurant. No more plot give away here. See the movie. Splendid period piece against the backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars in Spain (Global Politics circa 1800 AD).

Goya's Ghosts

Getting back to people like Condelezza Rice, selling her soul to get ahead in life but as National Security Advisor signing off on torture before attorney Jay Bybee had even pulled out his crayons at DOJ to write his legal opinion on the subject to give legal credence to - well it’s a long story.

As I said earlier, if men and women of good conscience were trying to defend this county in an emergency situation they, the former regime and its defenders, would not be acting like such inbred idiots and a bunch of tossers about this current tempest in a teapot?

If we are a nation of laws, a so-called “Christian country”, we can live without torture as a modus operandi of our mantra and national identity.

Throughout this so called debate going on now about torture picture this – George Washington did not need torture to win the Revolution.

Bush and Cheney, two natural born bullies, did need torture to justify the illegal invasion of Iraq for fun and profit.

See the movie Goya’s Ghosts. Get some perspective on this current topic.

Be well – and don’t be tortured.
