I am really getting tired that the national psyche has to adjust itself everytime some sissy Confederate(s) in Rebel State(s) is having a hissy fit or a presidential assassination or mass murder / domestic Terror situation - we, the rest of us, have to adjust and or be reeducated by the Media (Little Mao’s Red Book?) every time Nat Turner’s ugly, not lazy, black ghost rears its head in the form of verboten phrases like “Nat Turner Lives”, Black (Armed) Panthers, or BLACK LIVES MATTER. (Blue Lies Matter phrase all locked up on Twitter for some reason, some freedom in the “land of free speech” btw)

They killed Kennedy in Dallas near my birthday in 1963. I say they because only an idiot can believe that one lone patsy part-time C IA operative e like Lee Harvey Oswald with a $12 war surplus mail-order rifle could serve up Annie Oakley miracle shooting style perfection in the execution of the Yankee Catholic President stupid enough to take secret service advice to roll around Dallas town in corrupt Texas in an open convertible.

I have to wonder what happened to the three people they picked up as suspects in the Cop Killings the other day in Dallas??? The "Spare" suspects ready to be served up to the public. 

I do not celebrate the death of any cop or any civilian innocent of any crime or just standing around on a balmy summer’s eve watching and or protecting the public’s right to peaceably to assemble and protest the militarization of our domestic police forces still being - using occupying Armies Tactics as in Iraq and Afghanistan in a city near you etc.

But hey. The suspect they had cornered, had bombs (or so he was quoted as saying) or so they said – They – the echo chamber media – that you cannot wait out, starve out a suspect – overtime – change of shift due etc. – global spreadsheet considerations – in the solving of any business problem just like the police business of late in the United States. Bottom line manager. Bottom Line Matters or no bonus!

So why not serve up Habeas Corpus to the screaming slave, former slave(?) with the recommended for slave owners NRA (endorsed only for whites btw) weapon of choice WMD - an armed, not unarmed god forbid ROBOT / GROUND DRONE – why not - not serve up Habeas Corpus for a hostage situation that ends not like any I have heard of before.

I understand the want and need for immediate revenge against a bastard that breaks the rules and rips a hole in the comfort zones, white burb bubble idea of ideal white domestic tranquility mentioned in the preamble to the Constitution.  

I also understand why Lincoln suspended Habeas Corpus in time of War. 

But is RoboCop the new judge, jury along with being the arresting officer in any incident including bringing the bomb squad and or the bomb drone in for mass murder / hostage situations and or broken tail lights on colored people’s automobiles?

Ray Donovan Pops A Child Abusing Priest - Episode 11 – Thunderous Applause in the Audience!

There is something quite primal in the new Showtime Series Ray Donovan, it attracts as with a moth to a flame.

Ray Donovan, without any job description in the beginning of the series, seems by acts and deeds to be some sort of Private Detective working for a high powered law firm in Los Angeles.  

As time progresses, Ray is a fixer of all the things that the rich and famous break and might go to jail for. But he has his bag of tricks and network of paid muscle, contacts and brains to hold together the power behind the throne of the rich and fabulously rich law firm protecting the fabulously rich and fabulously ugly and stupid Hollywood icons that pay huge retainers to be protected from the press, the public, truth, justice and even reality.

Behind the bone crunching, PR pizaazz fixing, bribing and body burying is the background story of Ray’s extended blood family, transports from the poverty, crime and grit of Irish South Boston in their origins twenty years previously.

Ray Donovan is played by actor, writer, director and probably Emmy Award winner Liev Schreiber for his performance in this drama vehicle.

There, in the background story of his scumbag gangster dad (played by Jon Voight) recently released from prison by the FBI to spy on his son and bring down the powerful men of the powerful L.A. Law Firm headed by veteran actor Elliot Gould - is also the story of Ray's younger brother, emotionally lost in adulthood and scarred forever by being abused by a priest in Boston some twenty years back.

Ray’s younger brother “Bunchy” gets a $1,400,000 dollar settlement check from the Roman Catholic church for services and abuse rendered in the name of holy mudder church.  Bunchy, a clearly disturbed and drug and alcohol dependent individual paces back and forth in an eternal daydream filled with fears, anxiety and doubts about himself as the result of the institutionally sanctioned abuse and cannot sleep.

Without giving too much away about perhaps cliché settings and characters of this brilliantly conceived, written and performed TV Drama, Bunchy finds and begins to stalk his priest abuser from the past, now transferred to a parish in Los Angeles.

Bunchy shoots the priest, has regrets and brings the wounded cleric to his other brother Terry’s (played by Eddie Marsan) boxing and training Gym in gritty downtown L.A..

The brothers circle the wagons and try to decide what to do with a wounded and probably dying priest.

Ray, with his seething undercurrent of personal and controlled rage begins to interrogate the priest who denies being Bunchy’s abuser. As time and script allow, the priest admits his crime but in a state of holy RC denial will not apologize to Bunchy, perhaps because his sins have been forgiven in the confessional and he basically does not give a shit about his victims through the years.

Finally, it comes to light that Bunchy was not the only brother molested by the priest.

Ray pops the bastard with a clean gunshot right in the forehead, blood splattering onto the background side of the boxing ring.

The crowd went wild, the audience in my mind that is, to do what the courts in Rome or America have not done to these predator priest bastards protected by the bishops like Bishop Robert Finn in Kansas City Mo. here in America. Whatever.

All in all a great episode.  In an even greater series.

In a surprising move made public Wednesday in a court filing, the bishop and the church have agreed to have a judge decide in a bench trial whether they are guilty. The move avoids a lengthy jury trial, which was set to open Sept. 24.

Prosecutors and lawyers representing Finn and the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph are sorting through a series of facts about the case, a spokesman for Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker said.

“This means that all the parties in the case — the diocese, Bishop Finn and the prosecutor’s office — are negotiating what the facts and testimony will be,” said Mike Mansur. “Those will be presented to the judge.”

Jackson County Circuit Judge John Torrence is expected to issue verdicts today.

Finn and the diocese each face two misdemeanor counts of failing to report suspicions of child abuse involving their handling of hundreds of lewd photographs found on the Rev. Shawn Ratigan’s laptop computer.

Each charge against Finn carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $1,000 fine. The diocese faces a fine of up to $5,000 for each charge.---“

There is a fight going on in the American Catholic Church regarding control between the Wall Street Money Guys, the Bishops and the traditional “love your neighbor” nuns and other progressives who actually believe in Jesus’ message of humanity.

In the Los Angeles Times of 4 July, a full-page advertisement similarly announces that "It's Time to Quit the Catholic Church" and urges liberal and nominal Catholics to vote with their feet and "please, exit en masse." In March, a similar ad also appeared in the New York Times, and in May, it appeared in USA Today and the Washington Post. 

The controversial billboards and advertisements are directed against the US Conference of Catholic Bishops' recent "Fortnight for Freedom" and Catholic dioceses that are currently suing the US Department of Health and Human Services over its ruling that US women be offered birth control as part of their insurance plans. This campaign to leave the Church appears on the heels of the Vatican crackdown against the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, an organization that represents most of America's approximately 57,000 sisters. In April, the group of sisters was reprimanded for reportedly supporting women's ordination to the priesthood and the rights of homosexuals. The nuns also were accused of not taking strong enough stances against abortion and euthanasia.

The billboards and newspaper ads are sponsored by the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a watchdog group founded in 1976 by Annie Nicol Gaylor and her daughter, Annie Laurie Gaylor, who is the Foundation's current co-president and author of Women Without Superstition: No Gods, No Masters. The Foundation and its 18,500 members should be applauded for promoting women's rights to access contraception apart from religious interference. Monsignor Lynn Begs for Mercy – Let the Bastard Rot in Prison! - Archdiocese of Philadelphia

Monsignor William Lynn is begging for mercy from the courts, to be released to house arrest until his official sentencing.  The Judge involved in the decision is not unsympathetic but she realizes what cowards and pussies the RCC clergy are who foster protection to pedophilia and its enablers in the ranks – bishops.  

They have a tendency to run off and hide in the Vatican and the Vatican officials will smack their cheeks and say something clever in Italian to the effect and waving their arms – “They are not here. We don’t know what you are talking about”.

I dare say even to this day, Cardinal Law of Boston, if put into a position of unprotected contact with the public on Boston Commons would be probably be torn to shreds by a just and angry mob of Boston citizens in real time judgment of real time people of a bag of human shit protected by a Vatican Passport under protection of a German Pontiff who has buggered, directly and indirectly through official cover up, more than a few altar boys in his time.

Brian O’Hanlon – SMX – Homily March 26-27

I was fortunate enough through the enthusiasm of my wife, Angela, to discover this community a long time ago – 1988 I think, and I have been a fairly regular attendee ever since.  Certainly I have been a constant attendee since, to borrow a term from the Irish, “since the troubles”, the troubles of exile. 

Peter in a homily towards the end of 2010 when restating his vision of this community, emphasised that we are a faith community not a belief community. A faith community is one developing a spiritually of Justice Compassion and Love. More recently he restated the value of the mystical contemplative tradition in Christianity traditionally suppressed throughout history. This implies  a letting go of, a freeing up from,  much if not all of our classical conditioning of religious tradition,( Recently at a friends wedding-a nuptial mass, I was sitting next to a women , who at the end of the ceremony commented “ that was scary- I have not been inside a catholic church for 25 years, yet I just knew how to do everything), or there could be a shifting of the core of our traditional stories and belief systems; if this is so what do we have left, what do we replace it with? What do we develop as the core of our own practice. According to Fr Richard Rohr OSM the oppositional mindset that was set in place after the reformation of the 16^th century, and after the enlightment of the 17^th and 18^th centuries meant that the ancient tradition of gaining spiritually through meditation was lost. We lost the older tradition of praying beyond words. I want to propose that this is what we can develop, praying beyond words, meditation-a vehicle for our spiritual pathway.

For a long time I have thought that the Book of James was the most useful, social and practical of the gospel writings; James warned against taking the Pauline view of Christianity to an extreme where Paul urged his followers to put their faith in Christ (i.e. what to believe, one who would deliver them).  James called his listeners to action, “Faith without works is dead, be doers of the word and not hearers only.  Religion that is pure and undefiled is this – to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep ones-self unstained from the world” – to keep ones-self unstained from the world – what is this? Christians are very good at relieving the struggling and suffering of others-there are helping missions in every part of the world, just look at the community support provided during our natural disasters, out of this faith community Micha arose, and I am sure that nearly all of us are caring for family, relatives or friends; visiting the widow in her affliction, and as well there does seem in our community a growing interest in the spiritual/contemplative tradition, through the transformative experience of meditation, a way of remaining unstained from the world, our pastors refer to it in various ways, the Eckhart Tolle CD’s are taken home each week, and many books referring to the subject are sold, at  the drop in shop, the existing meditation groups are regularly attended. 

Jesus, it now seems, was primarily a teacher, a sage who bequeathed to his followers principles by which to live, not a body of eternally fixed doctrine that he expected people to believe. 

The teachings that Jesus bequeathed to us focused not on believing but on doing.  Even before the term ‘Christian’ (originally with a derogatory meaning)  came into use, the first Jesus-followers were attempting to practise the kind of life he taught.  They called it ‘The Way’. 

An ancient book called ‘The Didache’ (a Greek word meaning ‘teaching’) throws considerable light on this. 

It is interesting to find that the Didache has preserved the primitive label, ‘The Way’.  This is how it starts off: ‘There are two ways , one of life and one of death, but there is a great difference between the two ways’.  In its short description of the Way of Death we find listed all the commonly acknowledged human crimes and misdemeanours that are condemned in almost every culture.  But the emphasis of the Didache is on the Way of Life.  Listen to how it continues:
