Bishop Robert Finn Got Raw Deal in Corrupt Missouri State Grand Jury Maze?

I begin to realize why the Vatican has stood by their man in Kansas City Missouri on charges of failure to report suspected child abuse by his personal friend Father Ratigan.

Apparently the sheeple in the Kansas City Diocese also understand how corrupt a local Missouri Grand Jury can get when its members are picked by experts in personalities and types. Not to mention ethnic names that might indicate whether a Juror is a Catholic or Protestant etc. And of course these days the “none of the above” atheists, agnostics and secularists populate the juror’s pool. 

Bishop Finn was no doubt indicted on heartland anti-Catholic sentiment with that likely heavy Protestant and “other” type of Grand Juror placed there by the local prosecutor.

So when some ambitious prosecutor from the white burb part of a Missouri County wants to convict a sitting Roman Catholic Bishop on some piddling child abuse misdemeanors as an example, it is no big deal to indict anyone on any trumped up charges or not indict a favored native (white) son, as in the recent St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McColloch’s long, long, long term probe into the innocence of a Ferguson Missouri cop Darren Wilson ( which was a forgone conclusion – wink – nod ).

Spoon feeding jurors and evading questions from the jury if the Supreme Court can trump some obsolete fugitive slave type shoot to kill law is otay okay.  That and picking a white nine panel and black three grand jury with a requirement of 9 votes to indict and or not to indict. No sweat. So sweat indeed Bobby and Kathi and Sheila.

Bishop Finn will not doubt be moving up to rank of archbishop soon, that is no doubt in the works. Just a matter of time. God’s laws are certainly superior to man-made and easily manipulated secular law as in Missouri.

Deadbeat Cardinal Dolan Hid Assets with the Dead in Cemetery Trust

This is all old stuff and perhaps sour grapes and probably a federal crime if you could find a prosecutor with the balls, using R.I.C.O. laws, to challenge the creative bookkeeping of Timmy Dolan to hide assets with the dead in order to cheat child abuse victims out of just compensation for their suffering and ordeal of having been victims of the RCC's delusional (not of Jesus) Celibacy Sexual Mask practice.

NCR provided a copy of the hearing transcript to Jack Ruhl, a professor of accountancy at Western Michigan University who has done extensive research on diocesan financial statements. Ruhl is also a 1978 graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, Ill., and was a licensed funeral director in Michigan for several years before earning his doctorate in accountancy at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Referring to the transcript, Ruhl told NCR: “When Marek says, ‘We don’t own the trust’, I would ask: Then why does the trust appear as an asset on the archdiocesan balance sheet? The definition of an asset is something that provides future economic benefit. When the archdiocese classified the [cemetery] trust account on their balance sheet as an asset, they acknowledged that the trust provides future benefit. The things we laypeople call assets -- our homes, cars, investment funds -- means that we own them, and to say otherwise in this case is misleading.”

On the 2007 archdiocesan balance sheet, Ruhl explained, the asset account with the largest balance, at $59.9 million, has a specific title: “Assets designated for future care of cemeteries and mausoleums, primarily cash and investments.”

In contrast, the 2007 balance sheet shows an asset account called “Beneficial Interest in Cemetery Perpetual Care Trust” with a zero balance.

“In other words, they zeroed out one account and transferred most of the funds to a new account,” Ruhl explained. “From an accounting standpoint, all Dolan did was rename the assets. It was a shell game.”

Victim/survivors of childhood sexual violence by clergy of the Milwaukee archdiocese, including leaders of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAPnetwork.org/SNAPwisconsin.com) will release and discuss newly uncovered minutes from a March 2003 Milwaukee Archdiocese Finance council meeting where former Archbishop Timothy Dolan and Milwaukee auxiliary Bishop Richard Sklba discuss using church funds to:

–pay off known priest pedophiles and child molesters $20,000 each to quietly leave the priesthood,

–set up a “restorative justice” program to prevent victims from receiving compensation for injuries comparable to cases being filed against the archdiocese of Milwaukee in California, and

–move millions of dollars from the archdiocese into a newly invented “trust” to prevent compensating victims, the first of several such “trusts” to be set up before the archdiocese declared bankruptcy in 2011.

Victims will also be emailing a letter Wednesday to current Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome Listecki demanding:

–full financial disclosure of all payouts and “laicization” bonuses to sex offender clerics,

–which charitable funds were used to pay-off clergy sex offenders, and

–the release of the “Dolan Papers”, including all minutes of the monthly Archdiocese Finance Council chaired by Dolan and auxiliary Bishop Richard Sklba.

"When it comes to holding the Catholic Church accountable for sexual abuse of children by members of the clergy, all roads lead to Rome. That is what my organisation, Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (Snap), concluded after years of seeking justice in other venues and being turned away.

On 13 September, we travelled to the Hague to file an 84-page complaint and over 20,000 pages of supporting materials with the International Criminal Court, documenting our charge that the Pope and Vatican officials have tolerated and enabled the systematic and widespread concealing of rape and child sex crimes throughout the world.

Holding childhood photographs that tell a wrenching story of innocence and faith betrayed, and joined by our attorneys from the New York-based Center for Constitutional Rights, we stood up and demanded the justice that has so long been denied. The New York Times called the filing "the most substantive effort yet to hold the pope and the Vatican accountable in an international court for sexual abuse by priests".

No doubt, many people of faith are shocked that we would accuse a world church leader of crimes against humanity – a man considered by many to be infallible. But the man who is infallible must also be accountable.

…While many pedophile priests have been suspended in recent years, few have been criminally charged and even fewer defrocked. Worse, no one who ignored, concealed or enabled these predators has suffered any consequences. At the head of this hierarchy of denial and secrecy is the Pope, who has served as an enabler of these men. We believe the Vatican must face investigation to determine whether these incidences have been knowingly concealed and clergymen deliberately protected when their crimes have come to light.

Opus Dei takes La La Land

Two days after a kissy huggy licky speech from Cardinal Sodano about petty gossip not getting in the way of Joe the Pope’s mediocre rule and lack of compassion for the victims of clergy abuse, Joe the Pope is about the appoint the first active Opus Dei Archbishop of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is the largest Catholic archdiocese in the United States with an estimated five million members, 70 percent of which are Hispanic.

Archbishop Jose Horacio Gomez of San Antonio Texas has been named Coadjutor Archbishop of Los Angeles, co-ruler so to speak until Cardinal Mahoney retires at 75 in February.

The European press are mentioning the fact of Gomez’s active membership in Opus Dei. One British news site alleges his appointment as revenge on Hollywood for The DaVinci Code. Whatever.

Benedict XVI's choice comes after Colombia Pictures depicted Opus Dei as a secret society of murderous monks who, according to author Dan Brown, were trying to cover up the truth of Jesus's secret affair with Mary Magdelene.

The appointment will give Opus Dei enormous influence in the American Church and Vatican, and is the most senior appointment for a member of the group.

Gomez holds both conservative and progressive views

He denounced one Catholic university when it invited then-Sen. Hillary Clinton to campus, because she favored abortion rights, and another when it invited a Benedictine nun, because she had advocated the ordination of women. Under his reign, a local Catholic high school ended its relationship with an organization that raised money to fight breast cancer, because the same organization gave grants to Planned Parenthood. After a 17-year-old lay advisory commission created by his predecessor suggested that gay marriage might be a human rights issue under one reading of the church's teachings, Gomez disbanded the commission.

I went line per line in the L.A. Times article and there is no mention of Opus Dei. Are they waiting for another article to investigate Gomez’s ties to this new vanguard, Sea Organizaton type, Jim Jones Kool-Aid brigade commune, New-Jesuit army to keep the RC faith pure. Or has the L.A. times scrubbed the story and self censored itself so typical of the American MSM these days?

Joe the pope likes him. Jose surely won’t listen to petty gossip about child abuse.

In San Antonio, critics have alleged that he failed to address abuse allegations forthrightly and failed to hold accused clergymen accountable for their actions. In one case, a clergyman who was accused of sexually abusing a teen was permitted during Gomez's tenure to live in a parish residence next door to an elementary school and a day-care center, said Barbara Garcia Boehland, the San Antonio chapter director of Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP).

SNAP has written several times to Gomez seeking an apology and more direct confrontation of abuse allegations but has heard nothing, Garcia Boehland said. She said her son, Eduardo Ramon III, was violated by a priest as a boy; he committed suicide at age 20.

The selection of Gomez, she said, made her question how determined the Vatican is to root out and end abuse in the church.

"Elevating him is not being tough on people who know," she said. "There is going to be more hiding of priests. Gomez is good at that."

Just when you thought that the RC church would be turning to a Vatican III to purge itself of its sex sins and misogyny, the trend changes. The trend now in the United States is to turn dioceses over to strangers not originally from the diocese. No doubt these new conservative politician outsider bishops are making plans for a Council of Trent II to add another six hundred pages of rules and dogma to the computer data base of faith.

Good-bye to all of Los Angeles’ Catholic progressive programs.
