Monsanto – The New Bread of Life – God? – Vandana Shiva thinks not!

I ran into Bill Moyers Journal with the Indian Activist Sandana Shiva and my third eye opened up in terms of putting the Global concept on the individual level that I try to follow and document.
But the disturbing thing is how International Corporate Agri-Business is gobbling up the third world like in India and killing off hundreds of thousands of farmers through suicide who can no longer live or compete on their small plots of once fertile and plentiful food producing land. They can’t compete with the new God Monsanto – and its patented re-definitions of Food and God.
I am getting old.  I can remember when Monsanto was a chemical company primarily into the production of linoleum. Linoleum? What’s that? Told you I was old.
But my getting old is not the issue. The issue is how the global corporations are taking the global concept to a control all level of the human existence.  Humans no longer count in the Agri-business global model.  Humans and Farmers – being tossed off the Global Corporate Spreadsheet genetically engineered at Wharton, Brown and Harvard.
Monsanto is not God! Though it is trying to play God all over the planet with its genetically altered food, patenting it and monopolizing worldwide food production in that only its patented seeds are the only seeds available now to many farmers in the third world.
That lies that genetically altered seeds produce more food, greater yield, are even believed by fools like Bill Gates of Microsoft.  Bill better get off his high horse if he genuinely wants to help humanity and not corporations.

Gates Foundation Pledges Big Bucks to Family Planning in Developing World

Melinda Gates

Melinda Gates of the Gates Foundation has pledged a large chunk of money and announced a fund raising goal of $4 billion dollars to promote contraception education and greater use in poor countries.

Melinda Gates Launches Global Crusade for Contraception

Decades of research show, conclusively, that improving access to contraception is good for women, good for children, good for countries. Yet over the past 15 years, support for family-planning programs has plummeted. The redirection of development funds to HIV/AIDS programs explains some, but not all, of the drop. Coercive campaigns like China’s one-child policy and forced sterilizations in India have fostered suspicion about state-backed population programs. Conservative religious groups, particularly in the U.S., have tried to link family planning to forced abortion. In 2002, President George W. Bush cut funding to the U.N. Population Fund completely, turning birth control into a bad word. The cause has yet to recover. Backing from Gates, a Catholic who is respected by conservatives and liberals alike, could turn this around….
A Johns Hopkins University study published this week in a leading medical journal, the Lancet, estimates that contraceptive use prevents 272,000 maternal deaths per year. And yet, according to U.N. research, an estimated 220 million women have an unmet need for modern family planning. The Gates Foundation hopes to address this gap. If it succeeds, lives will be saved.

Xbox Suicides China - Chairman Bill's Offshore Worker's Paradise Sucks?

Xbox Suicides sounds like an awful off-broadway play using Goth actors etc.
But Chairman Bill and the late Chairman Steve has turned all their offshore worker’s paradises into the sort of place where workers threaten suicide and some actually do that under care of Bill’s and Steve’s go-to Foxconn.

"Microsoft is committed to the fair treatment and safety of workers employed by our vendors and to ensuring conformance with Microsoft policy."

All the suicide victims at Foxconn’s two Shenzhen factories have been migrant workers in the 17-25 age group. One obvious factor is overwork – employees are forced to work double or triple the legal limit on overtime on a regular basis, according to independent surveys. While the maximum legal amount of overtime is 36 hours per month in China, researchers report that 80 to 100 hours of overtime is normal at Foxconn. Other violations of China’s labour laws are legion, according to interviews with employees and ex-employees.
Another factor is systematic repression. The company prefers to employ ex-army officers from Taiwan as line supervisors. Militarisation of the production process is a feature of the ‘Foxconn model’. Nearly 28 percent of workers have been verbally insulted by supervisors or security personnel, and 16 percent have suffered physical abuse, according to a 83-page dossier on Foxconn produced jointly by 20 Chinese, Hong Kong and Taiwanese universities last October.
“Workers aren’t allowed to talk, smile, sit down, walk around or move unnecessarily during their long working hours, which require them to finish 20,000 products every day,” the report states. More than one in eight employees interviewed for the report said they had passed out on the assembly line due to the high pressure and long working hours. One in four women workers said they suffered menstrual disorders due to overwork.

Splainin Your Life in 50 Words or Less – the new global culture

We just hit the 7 billion mark on the planet’s population thing.  A lot of articles on it on the Internet.  I did not read one of them.  Why?  I really don’t give a shit.
This global culture thing that I have been exploring and writing about these past few years does not exist.  No doubt the environment of earth will collapse with another half dozen billion gobbling, consuming, shitting assholes on it.  I don’t care.  I will be long dead.
I used to care.  I used to think that other people cared.
But with no disrespect to Facebook or the Internet or gold plated tin gods like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates, the only thing the planet cares about in terms of my existence is name, serial number and photo.  And please describe yourself, your life, your dreams, your aspirations, fears, tears and cheers in fifty words or less in the box beneath your name, serial number and photo.
I am over the word limit.  Red marker.  Does not compute. Fuck you robot computer data base, the new god of us all!
Amen.
(word count inclusive up to Amen – 184)
Mark me down as a rugged individualist, a trouble maker, anarchist, or just another asshole, one of 7 billion, on planet earth.
DO NOT HAVE A NICE DAY. Do not pass Go.  Do not collect $200.  If I have to splain – don’t ask – I ain’t tellin.
Etc.
