There was this tradition at church
when I was younger in Philly, of adults wearing pink or white carnations for
their parents on either Mother's Day or Father's Day.
Pink for a living mother or white for
a deceased mother on Mother's Day.
I do not know if the custom was
local, citywide or just a way for florists to sell flowers. In any case a Joy
filled Mother's Day to the very backbone of all our existence - Mom.
Happy Mother's Day to all moms, living and those gone from us.
