Agnostic is spoken here.

It is not the only language. I welcome differing points of view. But after something like a quarter century search for meaning and life and purpose of being, I have come to the conclusion that nobody really knows when it comes to the concept of “God” – who or what that three letter word really represents or means.

As you may have noticed I did a visual change on the blog cover overhead.

The dragon is not demonic, merely my Chinese Zodiac sign in green, a life color.  My image concession to the growing global culture of the human race.

I have also included a phrase I have used for many years.

Hardly McShea’s Law or Logic formula on Agnosticism but a start.

I do not think that Agnosticism is half-assed Atheism because once an Atheist declares “there is not God”, he or she is not proclaiming it in a vacuum but in a functioning multi-dimensional world that needs some explaining sometime, somewhere from a scientific point of view at least.

And to explain God in terms of centuries old myth and superstitions is moot in the Twenty-first century of a common global era of the human race.

Also, I do not like a lot of the Atheists out there in the public square who seem so loud and vulgar in their defense of something that is both of a quasi-religious and secular nature.

Most Atheists I perceive to be first and foremost anti-religion perhaps due to bad past religious life experiences. The issue of God or Creator gets caught up many times entangled in that personal experience thing.

Atheism per se has gotten a bad rap through the centuries because it has always been a political term to quash any political dissent within the ruling theocracies which I think have been a majority throughout human history, both helping and hurting human history along the road to evolution of the species to bigger and better things.

That an extension of the tribe or clan has been the city state and the official party line, the official religion and or god has always been the local glue that holds the whole mess together at any given time locally along the human race timeline. 

That God for a lack of a better word is a metaphor, real at least to me, matching reality to a point and not unlike that of my childhood imaginary friend.

I think that when people say they believe in God, they are really saying that they conform to the local standards and enjoy the myth coming off of stained glass or the printed page and not necessarily in relation to total reality.

That looking at Dawkins Atheist Forum dissolve into chaos and dogmatic warfare says to me that Atheism is too on a certain level just another religion full of useless dogma.

As I have stated here on more than one occasion, I am Areligionist first, without religion and or dogma, before I am second Agnostic, with doubt about all popular religious cultural myths. I simply do not know.

That if anything, I am a closeted Quaker, not an official member of that party, but believe in the specialness of my own personal being and or personal God within aka the divine spark within.

Seeing the political scape descend into madness is seeing too much money and too much religion in politics these days.

That must change. Theologies do not work in the face of technology. Reality and myth conflict and reality is probable in most cases as opposed to any myth.

I remain a Cultural Christian because I believe in the basic teachings of Jesus. I do not however believe in his so-called divinity.

The Arc of the Superstitious Universe Is Long and Bends Toward Human Destruction

I have heard the MLK quote in my mind having read it several times perhaps in the blog of a preacher and or a true Prophet (one that few listen to in his or her lifetime).

I backtracked on the MLK quote on the internet and found that one site quoted the full text from somebody named Parker in the 1850s in the context that MLK’s abridged version was somehow perverted in that MLK did not quote the full version or that MLK did not deserve credit for content and or connotation no doubt because he was less than a full (white) man to say it in any version.

One often wonders what went through the mind and soul of one of the truly great minds of Human History more so than merely being a freak within A-merican History when he shouted his version of truth in that public forum of human history in my own lifetime.

The quote, something like “the arc of the Moral Universe is long but it bends toward justice” is an interesting thing to say in today’s godless age.

Morality it would seem is anything one political party quotes is morality from its parasite appendage of religions, old and dying religions, things that represent the morality of times past and not the present, that now sit in and make backroom deals for money and power in the virtual forum and or town square of the 21st century of the common era since the height of political power under the Roman emperor god Augustus.

And even if one political party in America is blatantly vulgarly religious and openly worships the god/idol of money and power, the other party in its bland agnosticism is little different in many ways.

Which puts me in light of the last elections in which no true economic issues were discussed and in which the election of one over the other merely delays the stripping of the final layers of human rights of you and me into mere months I fear in any case instead of years and decades.

The need to find a public morality brought me back to the MLK quote and the struggle of some or is it the many to live in some measure of human dignity on this shrinking planet.

There is a story in the news about how some hundred odd human beings, mostly female, who died in a factory fire in Bangladesh, which if you know any history was once called East Pakistan and is in the eastern end of India. A nation born of rebellion against the mother land of West or present Pakistan.

One of course is reminded of the great Triangle Shirtwaist Fire in lower Manhattan or the West Village where over a hundred people, 146 to be exact, mostly women died because of greed, stupidity and arrogance back in 1911. The deaths caused such outrage that fire safety laws had to be upgraded and the cause of unionized labor and its humane demands got a great moral boost in the arm.

That building still stands BTW, just off Washington Square, and is now an active working structure as part of NYU. Some of the ghosts of those dead workers have not left that building or so some say.

In the case of third world factory in Bangladesh, various media stories first told some truth and now are trimming the truth back into neat little rows of pretty flowers out of the “truth”. In the American press that is. I continue to read more truth about this incident in the British Press.

Truth is that it is a new concrete building two or three years old, the factory that is. Concrete, fireproof and in no need of any marked or sufficiently cleared Emergency fire exits because concrete = fireproof. The building will survive fire and or the inconvenience of people. Yeah right.

That blocked exits or no exit signs and many floors illegally added to the structure added to the chaos and death of so many. That thing about the exits only existed for a short time in the American media before Wal-Mart which buys the shirts made by third world slave labor in this particular factory puts out it great answer to morality by saying that this particular factory where over a hundred women died had two of three black marks on Wal-Mart's mighty standard charts before it would refuse to buy from this factory at some time in the future. 

How fucking high, mighty and “morally” modern Wal-Mart!

My search for morality or something like it in the public forum comes with the knowledge that public morality is now a commodity in the public world as evidenced by all the yes man lackeys called Roman Catholic American Bishops who have thrown their lot in with all the other for profit Fundies like Franklin Graham, Pat Robertson, Osteen, Hagee, Falwell, etc., etc., etc.

The superstition that is religion in most cases these days has attached itself to the myth of Free Market Capitalism that now is one of the pillars of American and or Western public faith or so the media brainwashes us to accept as modern dogma.  That the theory of capitalism is perfect and should never be diluted with real time usage by people or with people or about people. Real people.

What killed 100 factory workers in Bangladesh? Superstition.

Superstition that all Profits are Clean and full of the unquestioned Grace of Dollar.

Superstition that you can build unsafe factories and pay slave wages and sell your products to a Company like Wal-Mart headquartered in a shithole god-forsaken place like Arkansas that believes that guns, Jesus and exploitative profits from slave labor are all rolled into, bundled, into something unquestionably sacred according to the new superstition and or religion of the one true Free Market Capitalism / GOP / Democratic / Property political party.

German Courts Rules That Circumcision Is Mutilation - Civilization Vs. Religious Superstition

A botched circumcision to a four year old Muslim boy in Germany has led to a court ruling that circumcision is mutilation or body harm.  It also opens the can the worms regarding the religious tradition thing of the mean desert god theme as well as adults initiating a child into religious beliefs and practices that should be made only by legal adults themselves.

Jewish and Muslim leaders were united on Wednesday in their condemnation of a German court's decision to in effect outlaw the circumcision of boys after a judge deemed that the religious practice amounted to bodily harm. 

Representatives of the two religious communities called the ruling insensitive and discriminatory, saying it was an attack on centuries of religious tradition. 

A judge at a Cologne court said that the circumcision of minors went against a child's interests because it led to a physical alteration of the body, and because people other than the child were determining its religious affiliation. 

Religious leaders said the court had stepped into a minefield with its decision, which undermined their religious authority and contravened Germany's constitution.

The bottom line on circumcision once you get past the religion and superstition part of it is in the old Testament.  In that old Testament, battle after battle of ethnic cleansing in Palestine takes place.  In the heat of the battle, it gets very hot, how do you identify friend from foe? If a warrior strips off his armor or clothes in the heat and blood bath of battle, or is left dead on a battlefield stripped of his armor and identification, what better way to identify both the living in a fight or the dead for a proper religious burial than to see if the living or dead is friend or an foe, cut or uncut on the tip of the penis.

Satan’s Magic Cloth – the Shroud of Turin

It is the twenty first century and people are still clinging to an art fraud from the fourteenth century to stimulate faith. Fraud does not stimulate faith. Fraud stimulates more fraud.

The cloth, “the Shroud of Turin”, which has a unique image imprinted on it, put there by some lost process, is just one lone survivor of the thriving phony relic business of the middle ages. Enough pieces of the true cross were sold by the church, enough to build apartment buildings along with hundreds of gallons of Christ’s blood, were hallmarks of a corrupt age that preceded the selling of indulgences and the Reformation.

The Roman church clings to its pagan roots and pagan fascination with superstitions that equal relics with good luck and magic.

So now after many tests including modern carbon dating and putting the Shroud firmly in the fourteenth century, the RC church is selling the same old shit to inspire faith at a current exhibit in Turin. Shit that inspires faith is superstition or shit faith.

People, fanatics keep coming up with more bizarre ways that could prove this Bogus Turin cloth to be the actual burial cloth of Jesus of Nazareth. Can I sell you some shares in the Brooklyn Bridge?

The Shroud is a fraud because it conforms to the exact details of the synoptic gospels, written fifty to hundred years after Jesus. Oral history changes over times. The gospels, their alleged facts are there in writing. Logic to me dictates that the oral history of the gospels finally written down would miss details or add them. This cloth does not challenge the established story recreated and finalized decades after the ministry of Jesus.

Because the Shroud conforms to an image of Jesus with a crown of thorns and a spear wound in his side and other markings on the cloth, that cloth was made to order. Made to order to conform to gospels which if you believe the Jesus Seminar only accurately quote Jesus eighteen percent of the time in those accounts written much later than Jesus’ lifetime.

If the most important part of the gospels, the words and ideas of Jesus are on shaky grounds, how can anybody believe the stage sets drawn around the words to illustrate the story.

So if you get an object that conforms to faulty gospels one hundred percent – it is hardly proof but a customized sure hit bogus relic.

There is some fascinating literature about the Shroud. Most of that has been written in the last forty odd years and concerns the use of analysis and science to disprove this magic cloth possibly originating from the king of all fraud – Satan.
