GOP/Catholic Pro-life Mantra – Respect Life but not People!

Jesus shooting Charles Darwin.
(BTW-Happy Birthday Charles 2/12)

The GOP and the Catholic bishops respect unborn life, but do not under any circumstance give a shit about people, once they are born.

A person’s worth is exactly that – their worth ($).

Defining Terms - ChristoFascism - ProLife - Bishop Lori - Trent Franks

Bishop Inquisitor Bill Lori of Connecticut testified before a sweetheart congressional committee to describe the erosion of “religious freedom” caused by Obama and his department of HHS etc.

Bishop to Congress: Religious freedom subject to 'rapid erosion'

Among the policies and laws Lori singled out were:
  • A U.S. Department of Health and Human Services mandate that health insurance plans cover contraceptives and sterilization as "preventative services" in health care plans.
  • A new requirement from the same department that government contracts to those who provide services to victims of human trafficking only go to those that provide contraceptive and abortion services. Lori says that requirement assures that the bishops' Migration and Refugee Services "will be barred from participation in the program."…
  •  Among the bills Lori said Congress should pass are the "Protect Life Act," which passed the House on Oct. 13, and the "Respect for Rights of Conscience Act."
  • The "Protect Life Act" would prohibit women covered under the health care reform law from buying health insurance plans that cover abortion and would make it legal for hospitals to deny abortions to pregnant women with life-threatening conditions. The "Respect for Rights of Conscience Act" would allow certain religiously affiliated institutions to opt out of other coverage requirements in the reform bill.
Follow the money.  If you want to destroy the power of these gay bashing, vagina hating, pedophile enabling money men, the pro-life bishops, don’t call them what they want to be called “Pro-Life” – what life, they are more like criminals than holy men.
Don’t confuse terms.  Christo fascism accurately describes the ongoing crime of Bishops in bed with Big Money and Corporations, a term I think that might confuse the public. A new user friendly term to help enlighten the public is needed to shed light on these covert crimes involving gross conflicts of interest combining politics, religion and unregulated greed.
They, Big Money and Corporations, control the media and they want to confuse us.   Presently they seem to be interchanging two terms Religious Freedom or Religious Liberty looking for the perfect final sell, marketing term, to push this new culture war idea. Power is the name of the game - not Religion - freedom and liberty are merely just add-on chump words I believe. Think about it, especially the next time the media throws these mind game words/terms at you.
The big money boys and politicos did the same thing with the terms Climate Change vs. Global Warming.  I am still confused. Not really, but it took a long time for me to focus on the heart of the problem.  Now it is too late I fear regarding that likely doomsday scenario. Whatever.
Am waiting to see what official title Tim Dolan finally chooses for this new emergency profits for the Health Care Industrial Complex ad hoc committee and at what point in the 2012 election produces that final term as a code word for non-truth. This new USCCB committee - on Religious Safety (my term) was recently formed.

Follow the money.

Lori was not testifying about religion.  He actually was mostly testifying about medical procedures in front of Rep. Franks of Arizona, a freakin Evan Mecham appointee, hack toadie - Racist Evan Mecham, such a failed Arizona Governor that even the Rednecks cheered when they impeached his sorry ass out of Phoenix - for Christ’s sake! - and Trent Franks, oil man and shill for a half dozen money laundering non-profit right wing political think tanks and ignorance enabling culture war agenda groups.

Back to Lori, Bishop in the Health Insurance Headquarter Capital of the Universe / Connecticut…follow the money?
Anybody notice how some Prostate screening tests are being discounted recently by Federal Committees and will soon disappear or how women “don’t need” so many Mammograms as announced by Federal Committees etc.?  Follow the money.
Follow the money.  Indict some, many more “pro-life” crooks, religious and secular, under R.I.C.O. laws.
Have a nice day.

Dysfunctionality of the Pro-Life Idiom – Jesus would cheer Gaddafi’s death

Gaddafi got better than he deserved, better than he gave Flight 103 and Lockerbie.  If anything, I am disappointed that Libya doesn’t have the infrastructure, the slaughter houses and the meat hooks, to have given Mommar the “Full Benito” that Mussolini got in his just demise.

Is celebrating the death of a monster against life, common morality and or the cliche quasi-political, quasi-religious term Pro-Life?

I do not know what pro-life means anymore. It has become a Madison Avenue Roger Ailes jingoism to sell soap or church agenda.

From a once distant now moral view, the term Pro-Life as a hard sell came in the sixties when all birth control became the automatic equal of abortion – a flawed equation.  Have known a couple of women and a guy over the years who were involved in the abortion thing, some for medical reasons, some for personal.  They all had regrets.  Perhaps that is as it should be. The possibilities of life are a theoretical wonder to behold.  The average person does what is right  for themselves and does not need a theologian to render opinion anymore.

My last official religious affiliation was Lutheran.  When they murdered Doctor Tiller in a church says it all to me about the hole in the donut of the morality of abortionist hunters. A half a dozen protectors, enablers of Tiller’s murderer did not get indicted with him.  They are somehow funded by the new Gray Water moral area of funding from political and or quasi-political cash funding.  Tax free and on the government’s indirect dime.

Pro-Life was used as a religious mask to carry out a political agenda - a political murder, an organized hit paid for by the growing very profitable Pro-Life crime racket, to strike fear in the heartland to any woman who wanted or needed a serious medical procedure done for whatever reason.

The greed that turns all aspects of life into a commodity, even education, is in fact the reason why there is no real morality left in our society on many levels.  When people become commodities, their value is decided in the market place and not in any ancient book or even in their true hearts.

Me, we, us the society has become totally dysfunctional on some level and always I think related to the gelt factor.  The old fashioned American town square has disappeared and its virtual equivalent does not match the challenge or satisfy us.  That is what Occupy Wall Street is all about but they haven’t yet put it into words or understanding. They may never get there.

The point is and I repeat it – I don’t know what pro-life means.  I am being honest.

If Jesus was worth his salt and I think he was, I can fully imagine him cheering and dancing in the streets if a scumbag like Governor Pilate got his just desserts at the hands of a crowd like Colonel Gaddafi.

And then on second thought, maybe Jesus would not dance.

Sometimes.  To be fully human is to be fully divine.  It’s in the program I think from the Creator.

Whatever.

Gayest Game in Town - the Super Bowl?

The American game of baseball is the game of the masses. One of the reasons it matches the European and worldwide appeal in a sporting event category like soccer, is it’s simplicity and minimal amount of equipment – a ball, a glove, a baseball bat, a simple uniform.

American football is a game that needs a lot of expensive protective gear – crash helmet, shoulder pads, breakaway shirts and padded pants. Football in my father’s day was just a pigskin and a thin leather helmet. A distant relative in the 1920’s used to play professional major league football for the Frankford Yellow Jackets in Philly and made a whopping $25 a game. No steroids needed back then – just real old fashioned testosterone!

The modern American Gladiator sport needs sponsorship. $$$. $$$, whether from a public supported institution, high school, college, university or in the case of professional league - a hand in the taxpayers’ pockets. Special tax set ups, tax breaks, stadiums built with taxpayer’s hard earned tax dollars and for who – a bunch of upper middle class types who can afford the expensive season tickets -that you can only literally inherit like an aristocratic title. Then from the game, spectators drive immediately out of the city where the poor have paid for and built the stadium – and drive as quickly as possible back to the safety of gated white burbs. It is the American Way. (bow your heads)

As for who is the best in terms of teams, they have playoffs after playoffs until somebody is lucky enough to get to challenge one other in the biggest Pagan game of them all – the Super Bowl. I say pagan to be nice. Because if the truth be told, the Super Bowl is like the gayest thing around (but you didn’t hear that from me.) The game reminds me of the Pentagon with its cost overruns and a bunch of generals with a thousand medals on their chests telling the world the best way to mistreat humanity on the other side of the globe. (a game plan?)

I don’t watch the Super Bowl in general. It’s a young thing, a party thing, a neighborhood, pub atmosphere thing where gluttony and drunkenness while shouting for your favorite team is a proactive copy of a New Year’s Eve party. Not in my league anymore for entertainment or ability to drink a third rate swill posing as beer from BUD – now a foreign owned company.

As for rooting for millionaires in modified male drag costumes, it just doesn’t make sense. The cost overruns at the Pentagon are kinda like what they now pay show biz performers – so called athletes for performance these days. It is an anachronism out of the real old days of real American prosperity. Hell, these days, even Obama is stuck with a used Oval Office rug from W because things are so bad economically for some. (a tattered rug, by the way, with a few holes from someone chewing on it)

They have got the reality shows on TV these days. Why do we need sports? It used to be the only excuse guys had to touch one another in our very homophobic past.

Of course, there is the camaraderie and the slapping of the butts and the hugging but the more I look at American football as a spectacle, it is like one big game of frottage, French for, Urban Dictionary for – dry humping. (the new rage for kids who have no access to sane birth control)

So the TV networks pay billions of dollars to put on this annual circus created in the middle of the cold war, sell thirty second commercials for millions of dollars and most of the commercials are for the traditional male only things of cars, beer and products delivered by bikini clad teenagers.

The commercial advertising end is something out of a thirty year ago fantasy male magazine called Playboy. Of course it is now an American tradition. I should get with the message and pretend I is a good loyal A-merican. Nothing more apple pie than the Super Bowl dude! Yeah right. And or apples treated with DDT?

So in the mood of American myth about what is right, wholesome, kosher about the American myth in the middle of an economic depression - they want to use the beers commercials as a setup and prelude to send a subtle PC message to women that abortion is not pro-life. A women’s right to choose the use of her own body is a sin. A “pro-life” commericial – how wholesome. How PC (far right) to present it, fully incensed, in the High Holy ceremony of the American Sports Pagan Temple of American Myth!

This far right Christian religionist/political message is an acceptable message to sell along with the alcohol, corn ships, and Pizza Hut? Get with the Far Right Christian fundamentalist program girls. It is the only Christianity allowed by liberal CBS these days? Taking $ide$ boys?

No, but seriously folks, the Super Bowl is like the gayest game in town. Queer eye for jocks - max. It is a bubble fantasy, a Halloween for adults with costumes, gluttony and drunkenness, the adult orgy version of that children’s fantasy holiday.

On one level, a game is just a game dude. On another level, the guys and gals with season tickets are sitting at home using the Super Bowl as some sort of High Latin Mass of White approval, a reaffirmation of themselves in the universe. Sitting there and along with a 1955 illusion of white cold war America with Dwight Eisenhower’s, all male, all white heterosexual pro-nuclear war cabinet in charge, Mormons and all. (the G.O.P. – Gay Ole Party?)

Pass the chips and dip please.

Pro-Life, Pro-Choice, Pro-Future

Just as a minor commencement fuss at Notre Dame was about to take place, a new poll was coming out stating that the majority 51% of Americans now considered themselves “pro-life”.

51% identify as 'pro-life' in U.S.
For the first time since it began asking the question in 1995, Gallup reported Friday, a majority of adults questioned for its annual survey on values and beliefs -- 51% -- said that when it comes to abortion, they consider themselves "pro-life"; 42% consider themselves "pro-choice." (The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.)

This represents a significant shift, Gallup noted. As recently as last year, 50% of respondents called themselves "pro-choice" and 44% identified themselves as "pro-life."

Why such a shift by as much as eight percentage points in such a short period of time? Does the terminology still mean what it used to?

Did the chorus of “me too” bishops protest against Obama at Notre Dame take hold?

Is it the wording of the question in the poll that effects the answer?

What is happening out there in America for such a sudden and large shift of opinion?

There are a couple things working here in terms of what might be happening. Abortion is the extreme end of birth control. Technology, chemistry and pharmaceuticals have taken great leaps while the cultural wars festered. When I read Plan B, an OTC next day birth control pill had just been put in the hands of children (?) - seventeen year olds – so many things have changed while labels of pro-life or pro-choice have stagnated in the language and mindset of the 1970s.

The world moves on.

As I mentioned in a previous article about how gay marriage was sweeping New England, something in terms of tastes, beliefs and demographics was happening outside my door in the New America and I was not aware of anything until it popped up on headlines.

So too, this change in people’s attitudes towards pro-life might be a change in age, tastes, beliefs, marketing analysis. Perhaps after eight years of people being afraid to possibly express themselves, they now feel freer to express themselves in terms of personal beliefs and feelings.

I look at the recent Newsweek Article – The End of Christian America - whereby Christian Identity has slipped ten percent in twenty years from 86 to 76 percent. The other significant tag on that study was the Unaffiliated label growing from 8 to 15 percent.

If people are not afraid to shed old labels and are willing to shoulder other labels, then things are indeed changing in America and probably faster than anybody notices or realizes the new dimensions in our society.

Please remember that the old nineteenth century moat around America world vision that the neo-cons wanted to and did impose for eight years has evaporated away. The global mindset is here and everywhere elsewhere on this planet.

I am not afraid of the pro-life label so long as pro-choice still exists or be a legal option. Who in any real sense can be against life?

The world moves on. Little wonder the President can be welcomed in a tolerant setting at Notre Dame and spoke so eloquently not in archaic semantics but in terms of the future …
…Your generation must decide how to save God's creation from a changing climate that threatens to destroy it. Your generation must seek peace at a time when there are those who will stop at nothing to do us harm, and when weapons in the hands of a few can destroy the many. And we must find a way to reconcile our ever-shrinking world with its ever-growing diversity _ diversity of thought, diversity of culture, and diversity of belief.

In short, we must find a way to live together as one human family…
