Rep. Enyart to Tea Party "If you are a patriot behind that American flag pin, have the guts to show it..,"

The above quote by Rep. Bill Enyart (D Ill.) in response to Piecemeal GOP bills to fund this or fund that and screw all the little people who work for the government who live from paycheck to paycheck like most other Americans, but not the country club elites of the GOP / TeaParty.

"The only thing that bill does is give the politicians who sponsored it and who vote for it a claim while they wrap themselves in the flag to say they support the troops," Enyart said, pointing out that the underlying bill actually contained cuts to key veterans programs. "It's as phony as putting a flag pin on your lapel and claiming that makes you a patriot."
Enyart also pointed out that hundred of thousands of other federal employees around the nation were currently furloughed. Like the military personnel at the heart of the GOP's mini-spending bill, they couldn't afford to miss a paycheck, he said. Enyart then called on his colleagues to vote on a bill that would "put the government back to work."

Rep. Enyart in a 400-1 vote was the only nay on another piecemeal bullshit band-aid bill to pay contractors to say mass for the Catholics on Sunday.

The New York Times in typical Sychophantic fashion with Boutique Journalists THOM SHANKER and JONATHAN WEISMAN made it sound like real chaplains in active duty uniform were being forbidden to practice their faiths.  Bullshit NYT!

The House also voted, 400 to 1, on a resolution saying military chaplains should be able to conduct religious services, despite the shutdown. Republicans accused the Obama administration of stifling religious freedom.

Representative Adam Smith of Washington, the ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services, said Republicans had concocted an issue that did not exist.
The lone “no” vote belonged to Representative Bill Enyart, Democrat of Illinois.

Boutique Journalist John J. Miller, National Review, Complains About Michigan “Journalist” Law

The Nanny Michigan State Legislation is about to shatter the illusions of or is it delusions of Boutique Journalist John J. Miller over at the NRO – National Review Online.

In my recent research into the shards of what used to be the National Review of my youth, of several decades ago, I have been trying to put a finger on the outrageously overrated print child of William F Buckley Jr. and his bastion of right wing moneyed privilege and values at the old NR, what it has become in the modern Internet digital age.

Buckley spent decades on PBS, a government subsidized vehicle, for his Firing Line  series which was amusing at times if only to see how many of a dozen new exotic words Buckley would use in his one trick monkey bit to impress and push the conservative agenda, a decidedly viable political view in those older early days.

But I guess Mr. Miller who teaches on some subsidized teaching “Dow” research grant at some conservative college, Hillsdale, is trying to educate his Republican State Legislature that a new hard on GOP bill to define “Journalism” would take that title away from him and jeopardize his right to write in the public forum.

The legislation is a layer of nanny rules, more GOP (BIG) government to prevent Ambulance Chasing Lawyers from giving you a telemarketing call on your land line (dial) telephone, from them having access to accident reports at the local police station.  Only Journalists should have access to public information and not lawyers.  It never occurs to the Pubs in Lansing that maybe they could forbid advertising by lawyers or solicitation of business by phone etc. That I think would violate the myth of the pure open market religion of the far right.

Of course, if real market forces existed in America, the National Review would not, could not exist.  Each of its various departments specializing in content like law reviews or market forces or voodoo creationist science in Planet Gore, each command subsidy from various think tanks, much in the same way the Corner has become the Church Ladies corner under K-Lo and in deference to the uber-uber-Catholicism founder Bill Buckley Jr.

According to this new nanny regulation law, Journalists would have to be connected to hard print newspapers or magazines that print at least once a week which the apparently hard copy National Review does not.

One would not know this fact, given that I read Mr. Miller’s piece on National Review NRO online that streams non-stop with, and in the “Corner” an online version of “News” with its ascetic style to underline links or PR Press Releases which is the whole real reason for the articles I think in the “Corner”. With Kathryn Lopez trying to build another career over at the Church Ladies league, The National Review these days in the Online Corner side seems like one long stream of RC Bishop press releases with Kathryn cut and pasting a few dozen words around every new underlined link.

But John J. Miller has lived in a bubble world that the rest of us are not privileged to be part of. Other real journalists are scrambling for jobs as newspapers close and newspapers online consolidate and try to figure out how to make a profit under real market forces and not being subsidized in Boutique Journalism with that of Mister or is it Professor Miller.

One of the marketing forces dictating work in the real world, and not the subsidized world of boutique journalism is also in being a burden on the company, in terms of salary and benefit costs, in being passed the 40 years of age mark as the red flags go up in the HR (personnel) department.  Mr. Miller, I hope his job at the college is secure on that score. Whatever.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Michigan lawmakers are mulling a bill that would definte the word “journalist.” This is a bad idea, as I explain in today’s Detroit News. For one thing, those of us who report and write for National Review wouldn’t qualify as journalists–and neither would writers for theAtlantic, Mother Jones, and Reason.

About the author

Paid Foot Soldiers in the Army of Hate - Tom Starnes of Fox News, Martin SSempa, Benson Ndehi ?

Bill I think you have been pwned and are a victim of a long chain, feeding chain, frenzy, from paid hate soldiers on the Right.

Your friend Benson in Kenya is little more than a cyber space version of a street corner drug spotter, a filter, a front, for another paid hate soldier, the reverend and former (I was never GAY!) dancer Martin Ssempa of Uganda, in the hot drug spots of a city, internet, balanced discussion forums - and on the side he sells mailing lists, spam lists, twitter lists.

Kiva, Strathmore University, and Opus Dei: Another Reader Response, "We Don't Want Homosexuals and Homosexual Sympathisers Funding Africans"

I see your friend Benson or Njonjo, the Geraldo Rivera, of Kenya Twitter media fame, sits all day being a clearing house for information and sending it through the Pneumatic tubes of the internet thingy to inform his fellow Africans about what to see or not see in the outside European and Global Culture.

That somebody at Opus Dei without a doubt probably sent an arrow, a twitter, a little bird, an e-mail to attack you with his native African sounding name to prove that you the great evil faggot (pardon my French) is going to ruin Africa while he and his other twitter drug spotters of sorts create a virtual wall of reality in which to judge the outside world over their man made wall.

Since the North American Fortress is falling. Time to build a whole brave new world from which to dominate and attack the rest of the world in the future from, in the penthouses (?) of Africa (or is it really just still the penthouses of Fifth Avenue NYC – Rupert Murdoch and Koch Brothers high in the heights Heaven land etc.)

Here in visuals is a feeding chain of sorts in reverse from Benson to Tom Starnes at Fox Radio who I cannot determine if he is a paid employee or merely an outsourced contractor being paid or paying for time on the air  - “BoutiqueJournalism”.

And the ultimate story in terms of hate and or whatever is how A Christian Company – a Christian Cup Cake company in Washington State got bullied out of business for refusing to bake a Lesbian Wedding Cake???

Truth is if you send away customers, any business will go out of business one way or another. Putting a hoped for magic word like "Christian" in front of your business name is just plain superstitious if not downright bad business in a firmly secular nation like America.

Six Degrees of Separation between anything you write in defense of your sanctity as a human being, a child of God and How the Feeding Chain of an Army of Hate can reduce you to nothing in the uncivil discourse of the defunct American Town Square, now the planet's new city dump.

Ross Douthat’s Poison Pen on Religion – New York Times - “All the news that’s fit” to be bought

If you can define the parameters of an argument, you will likely win the argument.
There is a poison in American Religion. It is politics.
It started in the eighties when one third of a modern day version of an Anti-Christ in the form of Ronald Reagan, an actor, was helped into his cushy CEO crony job with the aid of southern bigots aka as “born again” Christians in the form of Jerry Falwell Incorporated.
The television evangelists labeled their Edsel version of religion televangelism.  There were no warning labels on the make it up as you go along programming and or snake oil product and the resulting wealth brought out the vote for a washed up black and white film “B” Hollywood Actor in 1980. Every marketing success spawns repeat and imitation.
There is a poison in American Religion.  It goes beyond the Bush “Black Purse” ongoing bribe given to churches to dole out soup but not condoms to the poor.
There used to be a fairly decent Religion section the British Newspaper The Guardian. It disappeared one night that coincided with the visit of King Benedict the German of the Vatican 108 acre based money laundering empire.
In fact, I don’t recall The New York Times ever being big on religion or where religion would be booked except in the leisure section is in fact it ever existed.
I guess no doubt the editorial staff heard about all the Religious Politics or is it Political Religion that has poisoned the modern and or virtual American Town Square. FOX NEWS moronity sells papers so to speak and attracts sponsors.
On to the scene of the past few years is the Harvard educated Conservative Ross Douthat to explain modern religion to a seemingly godless liberal New York Times readership. No truth to the rumor that the NYT needed an emergency midnight loan to survive one day back when and the Knights of Columbus, the Roman Catholic Church’s “Black Banker” came through in a pinch, and Ross now has a bought desk, boutique stall, at the grand old lady of news as a concession or condition of that emergency Vatican backed loan?
Anyway, I keep seeing wanna be memes popping up from time to time based on the NYT Vatican Desk in the form of  "TC" theologically correct Ross Douthat articles on a truly global news site that has room even for a token puissant or is it pissant opinion pundit like Douthat.
Memes flow through the blogosphere. There are whole chucks of Catholic and or right wing “Born Agains” or the new flavor of the month title is “evangelicals” blogs that repeat, reverberate and praise the Douthat Vatican echo chamber.
There was quite a stir about the dangerous “Pantheism” theology threat of the Movie Avatar that Ross probably got nominated for a Pulitzer on.  Straight off the secret? GOP/RCC daily talking points sheet. Wink. Nod.
In a way, Douthat is the Ivy League version of the Beer and Sauerkraut Bill Donohue at the Catholic League directed toward the Church Militants, “igorant enlightment” for the lower classes on the right and wrong American Catholic PC political opinion and positions of the hour, day and month these days.  It is not like the Catholics ever read the NT.
Which brings me to the latest politically labeled religion piece by Ross trying to piss on Mainstream American Protestantism.
I have read many blogs in response of this piece of political trash masquerading as religion.
Give it a read and form your own individual opinion while you still have that option in a "free" America.
When did any Christianity become “Liberal” or “Conservative”?
Those are political terms!
And once this form of "Boutique Journalism" courtesy of the RNC and Ross Douthat interjects terms like liberal or conservative into the opinion page of the Beard NYT, then the parameters of the argument are already set. The argument is won by the controlling out of touch corrupt 1% elites trying to use one more ploy to prostitute religion into a political matrix of the 2012 election.
Christianity is neither liberal or conservative. It just is.
And for those of you that need a visitor’s guide to Christianity, take the Douthat tour and drink in his religion and in the end wake up in bed with dross of the soul.
Your soul.
