Statement of Patrick McShay (McShea) on Treatment of Prisoners of War by the Confederate Authorities - Amerian Civil War

Report on the treatment of prisoners of war by the rebel authorities during the War of the Rebellion:by United States, Congress, House, Special Committee on the Treatment of Prisoners of War and Union Citizens, 1869

Statement of Patrick McShay (McShea), Hazelton, Pennsylvania

Was a sergeant in Company A, Twenty-eighth Pennsylvania volunteers. I was taken prisoner on the 4th of December, 1864, near Millen, Georgia. Marched on foot to Augusta, Georgia, about fifty miles, in nearly two days. Had one meal of boiled sweet potatoes on the march. No other food. Next day, at 8 a.m., we had a quart of corn meal, unbolted. and a piece of fresh beef, a pound. This lasted me sixty hours. Went by rail, in box car, to Florence, and was put in stockade prison pen. About twenty acres contained, I think, in it. This was occupied by about seven thousand prisoners. I had no shelter for seven days. Then they let us build shelter of pine tree tops covered with dirt. The prisoners burrowed caves in the ground, and we lived in them like rabbits. They gave us neither blanket nor clothing. On my way to prison, when near Millen, an Alabama or Mississippi rebel robbed me of my blanket, watch, and $185 in money. Our food in the prison pen was one pint of unbolted corn meal a day, no meat while I was there, and two tablespoons full of Carolina stock peas, raw, were given us about three times a week.  We cooked the meal and beans in half a canteen, over a fire. They gave us no cooking utensils. We broke the canteen so as to make a kind of cup of it. We had no other rations in that prison.  I was there about eleven weeks. I forgot the names of the rebel officers in charge of us. Part of the ground in Florence was wet and part dry. Some had to lie in the wet. I was taken from Florence to Wilmington, North Carolina, and thence to Goldsboro, North Carolina, where our squad of prisoners was turned loose in the woods and swamp, and a guard was placed around us. We had no shelter. Our food was about two pounds of salt meet cooked and about three days' allowance of hard tack. (I mean about three days' United States army allowance.) On this we we lived for seven days. I do not think I could have lived one week longer if I had been left in Florence. I was so weak that couldn't go to the water, about twenty yards. My parents did not know me when I got home. I was so thin.

Mark Sanford’s Whore / “FiancĂ©” Maria Belen Chapur only Charges What an Hour to … South Carolina’s New Argentine S. American Euro-Trash Green Card Queen

Oh do me Mark, Joe, Fred, Consuela ! Whoever Gringo! ...

From South Carolina, the (closeted) inbred with slaves state that started the Civil War in which 600,000 Americans had to die…

Mark Sanford’s whore Maria Belen Chapur only charges Ten Pesos(?) an Hour … South Carolina’s New Argentine Euro-Trash Green Card Queen Elevates Rep. Joe “You Lie” Wilson to fine White South Carolina Trash Level Species…

Sanford did not identify Chapur as his lover at yesterday’s press conference.

The governor also claimed at yesterday’s bizarre news conferenc that he had “spent the last five days of my life crying in Argentina,” although a source in the country tells the gossip website TMZ.com that Sanford and Chapur were “all over each other” last week in his bar, “kissing, holding hands and drinking wine.”

Chapur is said to be an executive with a (brothel?)…

Senator Tim Scott Encourages All Fatherless Kids to Take Chick-fil-A Sandwiches, Candy and Conservative Ideas from Strangers / Mentors

You can call me Tim, or you can call me Timothy or you can call me Senator...

Tea Party Caucus House member Tim Scott just got a chance to fill part of Heritage Foundation President/Senator Jim DeMint’s South Carolina Senate seat's unexpired term. He is one of them “good” republicans in the South Carolina Tea Party. Wink. Nod. If ya all know what I mean.

Chik-fil-A secular mentor values = imagined holier than thou Krisitian values. Hay-men.

Watch and learn. One day you too get can get a million dollar a year job at the Heritage Foundation and it all starts with a juicy free Chick-fil-A filled bun from a stranger/mentor.

One day he came down to the movie theater and slid a Chick-fil-A sandwich across the desk. John was smart enough to know that food is a good way to start a conversation with a kid who likes to eat ... which probably means all kids. What a guy!
Over the course of three or four years, John transformed my way of thinking, which changed my life. It was interesting because the lessons that John was teaching me were maybe simple lessons, but they were profound lessons.
.
By another account, it was a bag of Chick-fil-A sandwiches that turned Tim Scott’s life into the tea-bagger he is today. A story too good to be true seems to grow and grow with each telling.

Validation only through the testimony of white folk in South Carolina???  A Southern Tradition.

Moniz took a bag of sandwiches to the theater one day and began mentoring Scott, who was struggling to stay in school.
Moniz’s Christian-based lessons on life and business provided the high-schooler with direction that, 30 years later, Scott credited with helping lead him to the U.S. Senate.
“At the time, we don’t know who we’re influencing and what they might do with their lives,” said Moniz’s widow, Janice. “God put him in that theater.”

Sesquicentennial (150th Anniversary) of Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation

With all this MSM media Feces slinging about “fiscal cliffs” caused by the selfish traitors in the Tea Party in Congress, an important date is about to occur with little mention from the Corporate Owned Media, and that is the 150th anniversary or sesquicentennial of Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation.

While only an Executive Order, a proclamation of a beleaguered politician, a propaganda tool of sorts in the middle of a civil war, it, a Magna Carta like document, freed all the slaves in the states in rebellion against the eternal union of the nation.

Like I said, the Corporate owned media gives airtime to the 150th anniversary of Fort Sumter in the opening shots of the civil war in South Carolina and gives airtime to genteel cotillions of white ladies and white gentlemen re-enacting 1861 Charleston, it does nothing to match, offset, balance, the vulgar loud mouthed louts given free air time to preach their modern treason like Senator Jim “Obama’s gonna get his Waterloo” DeMint and Representative Joe “You Lie (You Nigger)” Wilson of the second congressional district, both cretins of South Carolina.

I had been wondering why Stephen Spielberg presented his magnificent new Movie “Lincoln” in time to coincide with the presidential election but rather I think it was presented to coincide with one of the great human, humanist, documents of all time and of the entire human race – The Emancipation Proclamation – January 1, 1863.
