Pope Francis
and Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church more or less the successor
of the Patriarch of Constantinople since the fall of Constantinople in 1453 to
the Turks, have agreed to a brief meeting, like ships passing in the night.
Before that, the Patriarch of Constantinople stood for almost a thousand years as the head of Christianity as mentioned in the Book of Revelations. Rome took over in 1453 with the pretense of being the center of Christianity after that. The Orthodox church or what was left of it moved north to Moscow.

Around 1054,
da gays running the church in Rome excommunicated the Orthodox Church, made
heterosexual marriage of priests illegal (celibacy) and shortly thereafter
started the Crusades against the Muslims. The split between West and East was
called the Great Schism.
Now like
some divorcees that still don’t talk or are meeting in a strange place to stage
child visitation in a hostile divorce, pending airline schedules of Alitalia and Aeroflot airlines, the head
of the church of Rome and Moscow will meet briefly in the waiting room or a bathroom stall of the
Jose Marti Airport in Havana (image above).
The meeting
between Francis and Patriarch Kirill will be the first ever between the leaders
of the Catholic and Russian Orthodox churches.
Francis is
due to travel to Mexico Feb. 12-18. He will stop in Cuba on the way and meet
with Kirill on Feb. 12 at the Havana airport, where they will sign a joint
declaration.
The two
churches split during the Great Schism of 1054 and have remained estranged over
a host of issues, including the primacy of the pope and Russian Orthodox
accusations that the Catholic Church is poaching converts in Russia.
