Bill Donohue May be Planning a Change of Career by Re-Defining Francis-ism and Defending the Rich

Bill Donohue of Catholic League fame is wearing other hats lately, becoming a neocon pundit opinionator over at NewsMax, that Internet telemarketing newsletter founded by Christopher Ruddy, the “journalist” that broke the story of Hillary murdering Vince Foster etc. (Sitll waiting for a Pultizer on that one Chris?)

Bill is free to let his hair down and freely mix “religion” with fascism at Rent by the Line NewsMax?

I guess if Bill needs to change his tax code filing status on a dime, from Catholic Defender to Justa Nutter NeoCon Cheerleader, he will be ready to switch the assets from one off shore account to another. Whatever.

Below in that transition phase before Pope Francis catches up to him by name, Donohue is defending the RICH, RICH, RICH. Are there any other people worth mentioning or fawning over.

When Pope Francis speaks about our "throwaway" abortion culture, or comments on marriage as a union between a man and a woman, he wins no points from those on the left. 

 But when he speaks about income inequality, he is praised by the likes of President Barack Obama and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. However, these three men are not speaking from the same page. What is driving Obama and de Blasio is envy; what is driving the Pope is justice. The Catholic Church considers envy to be one of the seven capital sins. It is not identical to jealousy. The jealous want what others have; the envious want to deprive others of what they have. 

 The Austrian-German sociologist, Helmut Schoeck, contended that envy was inherent in human nature and had to be contained. He credited the Catholic Church for taming envy, saying it played a decisive role in the advancement of civilization. But it had a way of springing back with a vengeance, especially in the hands of left-wing politicians.  

 Schoeck's book, "Envy: A Theory of Social Behaviour," released in the 1960s, was a clarion call against the exploitation of envy for political ends. "The time has surely come when we should stop behaving as though envious man was the main criterion for economic and social policy," he said.   

 … Pope Francis wants the rich to use their skills to help the poor; he is not baiting the masses to demand that the rich pay more in taxes so that they can pay less. It's the difference between a genuine interest in helping the needy, and soaking the rich.

In June 2013, after the Defense of Marriage Act had been ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, openly gay state representative Brian Sims tried to make a speech in the Pennsylvania House supporting the decision. Metcalfe, who was one of several representatives who blocked Sims from speaking, said ”I did not believe that as a member of that body that I should allow someone to make comments such as he was preparing to make that ultimately were just open rebellion against what the word of God has said, what God has said, and just open rebellion against God’s law.”

Metcalfe circulated a memo to his colleagues Monday, letting them know he plans on introducing a resolution containing articles of impeachment against Pennsylvania's Attorney General, Kathleen Kane.

 The reason: Kane's decision over the summer not to defend the state against a federal lawsuit seeking to overturn Pennsylvania's ban on same-sex marriage. At the time, Kane said she could not defend a law that she found to be "wholly unconstitutional."

 Metcalfe argues that Kane is abandoning the duties and responsibilities of her job, which include defending the state's laws, whether she agrees with them or not. Others have echoed the criticism, but no one has gone as far as seeking to impeach her.

 "Impeachment is a rarely used, but extremely important, tool to address misbehavior in office," Metcalfe wrote in the memo. "Attorney General Kane’s violation of her constitutional, statutory, and ethical duties cannot be tolerated if our system of government is to work properly."

 A spokesman for Kane could not be immediately reached for comment.

Timmy Dolan is still in Rome celebrating the collateral damage of the Argentine Junta 1976-1983 - i.e. Pope Francis etc.

It was such a relief this year for the airwaves not to be filled with the usual Gay Hate fight of the Manhattan Ubers not allowing gay groups to march under open signs of association.

With Timmy Dolan waiting in the wings to be the second American Pope for the Ubers once Francis retires probably the day after Benedict dies etc. – Dolan was a No Show at this year's Mahattan Parade – Thank God! – for the peace and quiet and no political bullshit over the probably gay Saint Patrick of Ireland and his straight masked, "silk lace" parade in Manhattan.

Democratic front runner for mayor in this year’s upcoming election, openly Gay Speaker of the New York City Council Christine Quinn boycotted the Neo-con Catholic /GOP St. Patrick’s Day Parade yesterday in Manhattan.  She opted instead to parade in the Rockaways, Queens St. Pat’s Parade that does not discriminate based on sexual God given orientation.

Avatar --- Greed, Ecology and Interracial Love

Avatar, as a movie, is a story about Greed, Ecology and Interracial Love.

The greed represents the big ugly corporation, let’s say a Halliburton as example, about to plow under a whole race and culture for the sake of the quarterly bottom line.

The ecology is about living in balance with nature, respect of which is somehow pagan in the eyes of the people who brought you denial about global warming.

It is a story of Interracial Love in the retelling of the basic John Smith / Pocahontas ecounter of learning from one another on many levels - from the different angles of European versus Native cultures and on the old eternal theme of the male female level of human natures.

The movie is set in the future and on the rain forest like planet of Pandora inhabited by blue skinned beings/people – shades of Star Wars with a few more anthropological footnotes.

There is of course the high tech thing, science fiction within the movie storyline and the 3D screen effect of depth and a different movie perception.

The big style of the big Cameron movies seems to have a baroque quality matching the style though not necessarily the substance of the artist Caravaggio. In any case everybody is talking “Cameron” on this new flick the same way they used to talk “Caravaggio” when one of his new canvas’s hit town four hundred years ago.

Many religious and political nuts have come out of the woodwork to frame this artful masterpiece by Producer, Director and Writer James Cameron of Titanic and Terminator fame – frame it as some sort of Pagan Green Worship thing.

References to Americans and foreign wars in Iraq comparisons abound but I am told this old west Cowboy and Indian, recycled Pocahontas story, script, was sitting on a shelf long before the Neocon age of Bush 43. Cameron had been waiting for the technology to arrive to do what he and his artistic vision wanted to express on the screen ( thus my comparison to Caravaggio ).

And with TV documentaries, (perhaps projects of love) The Exodus Decoded (2006) and The Lost Tomb of Jesus (2007) with fellow Canadian and Orthodox Jewish “Naked Archeologist” Simcha Jacobovici - charges of Paganism, Druidism and Pantheism as labels attached to this film seem totally groundless – the grist of fool critics with alternate agendas.

Indeed, the poltical right, religious right, do not seem to know how to deal with different ideas on the stage of Hollywood success. This staking out and preparing boilerplate fodder to throw at different ideas mixed with recycled westerns, love stories and anti-war themes – with this brilliant film – is so anti-future and so anti-global. this year i opted to watch times square online with CNN.

I felt a great energy watching youth and kissin and whatever.

Although I have never in over thirty years on and off in the big apple made it to Times Square on New Years Eve - I join the ranks of my maternal grandmother, metaphorically speaking, who lived her whole life in philly and never visited Independence Hall - whatever.

I noticed that the new global New World Order national anthem was played just before the real countdown to the new year - John Lennon - Imagine.

I see now what Obama has to recognize and reflect upon - the energy of the united states that is now that of a global world empire.

The question now is whether that Global Empire is Just or it is controlled by elements of the dark side aka Cheney NeoCon INC.

Anyway, stop your blathering son. I heard a song that really hit the "light" within for me played shortly after midnight in times square, and into the new year. I believe the artist and the song rendition is from the "light" side within our mortal existence.
