Pastor Cruz, who is the father of Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), made his remarks during an interview with conservative leader Phyllis Schlafly on her radio program “Eagle Forum Live.”

“We need to realize that the attack on marriage is more than just an attack on marriage, it actually goes to the heart of religious freedom,” said Pastor Cruz.

“Because, you see, what is going to come next -- and this is part of the danger of what may happen out of the Supreme Court in June -- is that if marriage of anybody-with-anybody becomes a civil rights issue,” he said, “then they are going to come to churches and force pastors to violate their religious convictions.”

“And so it is going to come to America to where a pastor is going to be faced with a decision: Do you obey a law that is not only unjust but violates your core principles, or do you obey God and face prison?” said Pastor Cruz.

Cardinal Dolan’s Imaginary Childhood Friend “Dirty Freddie” Threatens Ten People of God on Steps of the Decaying, Falling Down Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in New York

Cardinal Dolan got imaginative in his blog some few days ago and invented a story to reinforce his perhaps personal but definitely institutional hatred of gays.

He told the story of his sainted “Silk Lace” Irish Catholic mom and her rejection of his probably imaginary childhood friend “dirty Freddie” because Freddie had dirty hands.

Somehow in the story, Timmy had been playing with Freddie and Timmy somehow came away from the experience with unsoiled hands

Silk lace mom insisted that Freddie clean his dirty paws before he could sit down to Mrs. Dolan’s home cooking.  In the story little Timmy had invited little Freddie to dinner without conditions.

But grownups and Catholic Bishops who now “love” gays insist that they somehow have to wash their sin from nature away before darkening the doorways of decaying old cathedrals or churches in the RCC.

Apparently a bunch of gay activists dirtied their hands in protest on Sunday, in empathy for the shabby treatment “Dirty Freddie” got at the hands of the Cardinal’s mom and her imagined silk lace importance in the scheme of things, and tried to enter St. Patrick's with those dirty hands. 

Tough love Freddie!  Don’t want the neighbors to know that you ate here and left with dirty hands intact.  Etc.

That Timmy Dolan leads by example. And since he had no adult social skills, or parenting skills or heterosexual sex in his life, he deferred the way he should treat or “love” them – other people – based on mom’s limited life experiences.

San Francisco Archdiocese Forced to Take Down Symbol of (Hate) Anti-Love from their Facebook Page

As some of you well know, I do not want to comment lately in the ugly atmosphere in which politics is being conducted these days. In fact being attacked by a single troll is one thing for expressing my honest opinion, but they seem to travel around in gangs anymore. 

One is reminded, I am reminded of the Germany in the 1930’s with jackbooted thugs wandering the streets, paid for by the rich industrialists, and funds channeled through a stooge political party like that of the Nazi Party.

So I am reluctant to write some of this. But since I have a global audience now and this is a American Secular Humanist diary in this new global culture, I will try to pass along the basics of this news item without getting too involved as being a so-called "Catholic basher" as some have labeled me or any other false identity from people hiding behind Anonymous masks as they spew and protect their right to hate and try to bully me into silence. Etc.

I have mentioned here and there that I do not do electronic petitions, mainly because I do not want my e-mail address sold onto to some spam list as I sign a petition for a good and great sounding thing in our democracy.

So too I try to avoid symbols or as in Facebook, there was a recent rash of the equality symbols used as avatar by many to indicate a position on the civil rights of marriage equality.  

All well and good to use such a symbol on a temporary basis like wearing a poppy flower at a veterans parade or waving a small flag at a Memorial Day parade or on the fourth of July.

I suppose making a good symbol and making a good point is enough to demand imitation from the other side in terms of a symbol.

Maryborough priest Paul Kelly, who was one of the first on the scene when Mr Ruks died, was so affected by the man's death that he launched an online petition to remove the defence, that has since gathered signatures from all over the world.

In January this year, in what was hailed as "a victory for common sense", the former state government decided the Criminal Code would be altered to ensure that unwanted sexual advances could not be used to claim provocation, unless in exceptional circumstances.

Following the election, new Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie said he had requested a brief from the department on the issue and would consider the recommendations made by the former Labor government.

But the Attorney-General announced this week that he would not be making the planned changes to the code, and the defence would still be available in violent crimes.
