AOL CEO Tim Armstrong – Corporate “Dick” of the Year Award!

This clown CEO of a Model T Internet Server – Yes AOL is still in in business. He does the self-insured thing on HealthCare for the employees. Two “females” have difficult births. Two Million in costs and guess what (?) – Management takes the cost overrun out of the other employees 401K funds and their payouts.  Whatever.  (401Ks BTW – Business’ convenient slush funds)

How do you spell "whalebone corset"?

“We had two AOL-ers that had distressed babies that were born that we paid a million dollars each to make sure those babies were OK in general,” Armstrong said. “And those are the things that add up into our benefits cost. So when we had the final decision about what benefits to cut because of the increased healthcare costs, we made the decision, and I made the decision, to basically change the 401(k) plan.” Under the new program, AOL employees will not be able to collect any matching funds toward their retirement savings from the company for any given year if they leave before Dec. 31 of that year.

But health care experts ThinkProgress contacted questioned why a large self-insured company with more than 5,000 employees could not absorb the additional health care costs associated with the pregnancies. Large employers typically purchase reinsurance, which could cover a substantial share of big claims and ensure stability in cases of larger-than expected medical payouts.

“The Affordable Care Act is simply a convenient whipping boy for any decision an employer makes to cut benefits,” Tim Jost, a law professor at Washington and Lee, said. “Assuming AOL had reasonably generous coverage like most large employers, it should not have experienced any significant changes in its benefit structure for 2014. Perhaps it had to pick up a few more employees that had not been covered before or reduce premiums for a few employees, but it is hard to see $7.1 million here.”

Koch Brothers Circle Jerk Against America Club Meets in Palm Springs - With Mean Non-Union Papa John's Pizza Served

Mother Jones ran in to a list of a secret handshake members only circle jerk club meeting recently between the Koch Boys (wink, nod) and some of these other Guys (wink, nod) in Palm Springs. LOL

The document lists VIP donors—including John Schnatter, the founder of the Papa John's pizza chain—who were scheduled for one-on-one meetings with representatives of the political, corporate, and philanthropic wings of Kochworld. The one-page document, provided to Mother Jones by a hotel guest who discovered it, offers a fascinating glimpse into the Kochs' political machine and shows how closely intertwined it is with Koch Industries, their $115 billion conglomerate.

The more than 40 donors courted by the Kochs include hedge fund and private-equity billionaires, real estate tycoons, and executives of top corporations, including Jockey International and TRT Holdings, owner of Omni Hotels and Gold's Gym. A number of them have never been identified as members of the Koch donor network, including Schnatter, one of the more prominent names on the list. An outspoken opponent of the Affordable Care Act, he is a longtime Republican donor who hosted a fundraiser for Mitt Romney's presidential campaign. The document notes that the pizza mogul was scheduled to meet with Ryan Stowers, the director of higher education at the Charles G. Koch Foundation. (Schnatter did not respond to requests for comment.)

Ted Cruz Cuban Grandmom Still Waiting For Visa, Plane Ticket, Section 8 Certificate and Food Stamps Card ? Nigerian Racist Remarks Moot? - Look at his Roots?

                                                                                                                                        Photo - Tibor Vegh*

Ted Cruz's racist joke about Nigerians running the computer scam on ObamaCare has nothing to do with racism considering all the black Cuban blood in his Canadian born veins?

If he was going to make jokes about computer scammers, why not make jokes about Goldman Sachs, where Ted gets his healthcare insurance off his wife's dime.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/10/ted-cruz-angers-nigerian-americans-with-obamacare-remarks/

“You may have noticed that all the Nigerian email scammers have become a lot less active lately,” Cruz said at a gathering with supporters in Houston, according to the Houston Chronicle.
“They all have been hired to run the Obamacare website,” he joked.
But the Christian Association of Nigerian-Americans, also known as CANAN, isn’t laughing. The group blasted Cruz, calling his comments distasteful and disparaging.
“Cruz has maligned all hardworking, decent and outstanding Nigerian-Americans who add value and bring goodwill to their different communities, especially in Texas, with the largest concentration of Nigerian-Americans in this country,” the group said in a statement released Thursday.
And that’s not the only place where Cruz’s joke fell flat.
The Nigerian ambassador to the United States also wants an apology from the senator.

GOP Anti-Christianity Challenged By Words of Pope Francis – Mean Spirtied GOP going to Hell?

Taking Food Stamps out of the mouths of the poor and elderly, the recent trend in mean spirited Red Neck Khristianity along with trying to take healthcare availability from millions of uncovered by healthcare Americans, does not gel with the recent words of newly elected Pope Francis regarding love and true compassion to the poor.

TV Phony Baloney Khrist Evangelical GOP panderers - meet Mystical Jesuit.

Wish those House Republicans would spend some time studying the interview Pope Francis gave to the Italian Jesuit journal La Civita Cattolica that was published online by America, a U.S.-based Jesuit publication.
They might learn a few things about compassion, priorities and how to be real Christians.
Francis thinks the church, to its detriment, is “obsessed” with its battles against abortion, gay marriage and contraception. “The teaching of the church is clear,” he said. “But it is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time.”
 God bless that man.
But Francis didn’t just rock the world with unexpected words of conciliation about those hot-button social issues, he also said the church must be less rigid and must listen to the “feeling of the people, especially the poor.”

Jesus Never Asked A Leper For A Co-Pay Bumper Sticker - John Fugelsang - Affordable Care Act (for People)

Quote of the Day on Affordable Care Act For People – “Jesus Never Asked A Leper For A Co-Pay.” ~~ John Fugelsang

Ed Schultz: The Christian faith is very clear, feed the poor, and heal the sick. Is it really Christ-like to take healthcare away from Americans that should have healthcare that could save their lives? …

Chaplain Klingenschmitt: Obamacare takes healthcare away from, a half a billion dollars was taken away from old people, from Medicare to fund basically a slew of people who refuse to get jobs. …

John Fugelsang: You know Jesus never asked a leper for copay. And in Matthew 10:7-8 commands his followers to heal the sick. Now every option of healthcare on the exchange allows for a woman to choose a provider that will only allow abortion in cases of rape or incest. Where the chaplain is being disingenuous is that the only time that this will ever pay for an abortion is in the case of rape or incest or if you believe as the chaplain does that contraception is the same as abortion. So I’d like to ask the chaplain if I could, Jesus never at any point in the gospels condemns abortion even though people were terminating pregnancies at the time. He does however come out quite frequently against killing the sinner through the death penalty. So have you sir ever once protested your tax dollars being taken to fund state sanctioned killing. …

Chaplain Klingenschmitt: Jesus said in Mark 15 that if anyone disobeys or dishonors his mother or father he should be put to death. Jesus said in Luke 17.

John Fugelsang: No sir. He did not say that. He is quoting Leviticus. He is throwing that back in the face of the Pharisees. Some of us know that story sir.

Catholic Charities – an Oxymoron?

I believe the Prince Bishop Dolan the other day was on the Martin Bashir news hour on MSNBC and threatened to close shop on his NYC Charity racket if the black man in the White House did not give into his imperial demands for privilege and entitlement and the right to deny female employees chemical/medications also known as contraception.

As I understand it, taxpayer money is used for some social services and or charities and administered by Dolan’s charity racket that gets to skim off a percentage of the cash as profit - fees.

In a way, I do not know how all this got started, the church in the secular social services “charity” distribution stuff.

Everything in NYC seems to have to function and operate along the mob business model with the alpha organization getting a cut before distribution to the general population whether it be food, petrol, education or even charity.

It is a strange thing. I seem to remember forty years back in Philly when I was still more or less Catholic (less) and I read about the local annual Catholic Charities Appeal that was exclusively a charity by Catholics only and for Catholics.  I remember reading at the time that the majority of the monies collected were going for construction of nursing homes. The question arose as to why.

The answer dictum ex cathedra via Cardinal Krol was that the nursing homes were needed to house the parents of priests and nuns. The premise being that the Charity had to take care of these elderly people or else the priests and nuns would have to exit their jobs and do so privately. And since it was post Vatican II, there was a mass exodus to the doors already of the clergy and religious. Made perfect Catholic sense at the time.

That charity these days to Catholics as a base is paid for by secular tax dollars and beyond that “charity” goes to non-Catholics? Who designed this fucked up Rube Goldberg charity system/racket?  George Bush?

Fast forward forty years.  I think I have read that the Prince Bishop Dolan’s bailiwick and the mob’s Catholic bailiwick in Brooklyn are self-insured in the healthcare thingy – cutting out corporate healthcare insurance middle men.  Strange that Prince Bishop Dolan wants the Prez to drop a standard that his employees might demand under self-insurance.

This whole social services thing, administered with add ons to the Catholic Charities business model and organization, mixes a small few percentage points of Catholic money with a majority percentage of secular taxpayer money and it is still called Catholic Charities.  Why is that?

Catholic Charities – an Oxymoron?

Is Mitt Romney Self-Insured for his Healthcare?

Self-Insured Mitt Romney?

With his refusal to participate in Medicare, where does Mitt Romney get his healthcare?  He, like all the rich self-insure themselves.  Some interesting questions here.

Are his children working or just living off the family fortune stolen at Bain Capital? That’s five sons and sixteen grandchildren in need of healthcare protection.  But the rich are not like the rest of us.

Self insurance is little more than putting aside cash for emergencies and drawing down on it in time of need.  Statistically and like any insurance company, the odds and amounts are fairly predictable. In the case of a Romney, he goes to a hospital and pays and or negotiates what he is willing to pay and the hospital accepts or renegotiates the offer etc.  Cheaper than going through middle men health care providers sometimes. And take a tax loss when the medical bills get really high.  Just like business bookkeeping. Win-Win for the rich.

I see in the below article that Mitt does not treat healthcare premiums on his income taxes as real healthcare as much as he treats it as a nuisance tax to claim residence in Massachusetts that under RomneyCare, health insurance is a mandated law.

http://boss.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/01/24/the-tax-deduction-mitt-romney-did-not-take/

Why all the secrecy about Mitt’s wealth and how it works for him and how if elected President, he can scrap Medicare because he is too rich to care about the rest of the citizens of a republic?

Kind of reminds me of 2008 when he was running and one journalist asked his sons if they were going to serve their country in the military.  Their response was that they were serving their country by working in Mitt’s campaign.  Geez.  Milk.  Cookies.  Mormons and the death of civility, reality and patriotism in America.

Pennsylvania Sharia Discriminates Against Iowa Marriage Laws - St. Luke's Hospital Healthcare Bethlehem Pa.

That according to St. Luke's Hospital and Heathcare Network based in Bethlehem Pa.

That forty years of Catholic politicians pushing Catholic Sharia law line by line in the Pennsylvania Legislature makes all marriages in Iowa null and void.  All the people in Iowa are living in sin?  All the Children produced by a man and a woman in Iowa are considered Bastards in Pennsylvania according to Pennsylvania State Christian Sharia Law?

Is the Governor of Pennsylvania elected?  Why bother?  Just have the Vatican appoint a lifetime Prince Bishop.

I don't get it unless there are Christian fanatics in the St. Luke's Hospital Human Resource department that think that backwater laws in a backwater part of a backwater state, think that nobody will notice the global Godless Corporate injustice and discrimination against Gay People in Bethlehem Pa.?

St. Luke's denies employee's request for same-sex spousal health benefits

Watching her father care for her dying mother was a sobering experience for St. Luke’s nurse Carol Stevens.

Stevens, 56, of North Whitehall Township, realized if her wife, Beth Goudy, became ill she would be ineligible for family, medical or bereavement leave because her employer of 14 years does not recognize Goudy as her spouse.

The couple wed in a religious ceremony May 6, 2007, in Pennsylvania and then legally married in Iowa in Goudy’s hometown Sept. 28, 2009. But their marriage is not recognized by Pennsylvania.

Request denied:

Stevens was heartened when she learned the St. Luke’s Hospital & Health Network nondiscrimination policy had been updated to say it does not exclude, deny benefits to or otherwise discriminate against protected classes, including those grouped by “sexual preference, gender identity and expression.”

She thought it meant the network had changed its stance and was going to begin extending benefits like nearby Lehigh Valley Health Network does. Stevens added Goudy to her plan during open enrollment.

On Dec. 5, her request was denied. It is frustrating to be legally married in one state but not be recognized in another, Stevens said.

John Boehner - a Man of Color

Health Care Reform made it in the House this past weekend. Teabaggers were on the steps of the Capitol building this past weekend yelling “Kill the bill nigger!” at Black U.S. Representative John Lewis, a man who fought in the front lines of the Civil Right fight of fifty years ago.

Zero Republicans voted for Health Care Reform for all Americans. Zero!

With offensive placards showing President Obama as the “Joker” or “Hitler” at a Tea Bag rally on the Capitol steps some months ago, House Minority “Leader” John Boehner spoke at that rally and denied having seen anything offensive.

It goes without saying that he heard no offensive remarks hurled at a Civil Rights Veteran on the Capitol Steps either this past weekend.

Why should a Republican apologize for the marginal right wing of their party called the Tea Party? Why should any Republican apologize for nothing. Zero – remember.

The only thing left for the “Party of No” is a painted on orange sun tan that John Boehner (Boner, Bayner – however he pronounces it) proudly exhibits.

On top of that, the latest Harris Poll has a close to majority of Republicans and or 25% of the adult American population that states belief that Barack Obama is not a native born American, without a birth certificate, and that he is a Muslim.

Also:
38 percent of Republicans, and 20 percent of Americans overall, agree that Obama is "doing many things Hitler did”

And 24 percent of Republicans, and 14 percent overall, agree that Obama "may be the antichrist”
Which brings me back to basic American education. We must do something radical to offset this love of ignorance in the heartland. We must once again teach geography to children. It really does teach a basic analytical level of looking at and interpreting data.

Of course I also read a quote somewhere perhaps from a poll as well that:
70% of American women have never had an emotionally satisfying relationship with a Republican.
Which brings me back to the face of the Republican Party - John Boehner.

I am curious John, is it a full body tan or are there any bikini tan lines underneath the clothes?

Makes me sound a bit weird but I can remember the segregated swimming pools in Philly from when I was a kid. I remember that if you were too tan or sunburned, it was normal practice at the entrance gate for the attendant to ask you to expose the tan line beneath your swim suit to gain admittance.

I know John thinks that his orange face looks sexy to him in his mirror but what is his real game? Does he want to look like Barack Obama? Are you deep down a man of color John?

Does John Boehner have penis envy of Barack Obama?

Of course only the guys in the House of Representatives members only gym would know in the locker room if Boehner has a full body tan or not.

More than likely they are exposed to his big shiny white ass and his tiny white schlong. (so much for false advertising John to the general public-I have my sources)

This general hubris of the dying GOP is going to find a gravesite if in 2010 or 2012, the Tea Baggers break loose of the GOP and put their names of candidates on state ballots. If that is the case, then within a twenty year period the national Party will have been in at least two elections where over ten percent of the national vote goes to a third party. If that happens, the GOP will be DOA. What happens after that is anybody’s guess.

I will say that the encouragement of ignorance by Rupert Murdock’s FOX “NEWS” misinformation/entertainment species will help in the final gasp of the GOP.

And I am reminded of a quote from the nineteenth century about all matters current on the American agenda.
"Ignorance breeds monsters to fill up the vacancies of the soul that are unoccupied by the verities of knowledge."

Horace Mann, Educator, 1796-1859

Creative Hate - Wash DC Catholic Charities

It is a whole new world out there for creative hate. If you got the gold, bucks, non-profit and Madison Avenue Consultant you can do anything in America – including Creative Hate.

The Archdiocese of Washington D.C. is digging in, probably renting Cheney’s old bunker and will now be openly committing indirect “Civil Disobedience” as mandated by their multi-faith document, the Manhattan Declaration.

Washington's new Gay marriage law will not be tolerated by the RC Archdiocese on the feeding end of millions of civil tax dollars for helping the poor and homeless. It's inhouse specific charity program will now openly discriminate against all forms of marriage. Throw the baby out with the bath water. "Charity" does indeed begin at home.

"If I speak with the tongues of angels and men and have not Charity - I am nothing!" - Bishop Wuerl.

One has to wonder if Catholic Charities is self insured or this little brainstorm got cooked up in the a big healthcare insurance company to cut down costs?

Employees of Catholic “Charities” cannot add a spouse if one now marries either heterosexually or homosexually in the District of Columbia.

D.C. is not a state. It is a territory of sorts lost in legal limbo or at least in terms of one man, one vote on the federal level. To add to this old southern plantation territory is the RC church’s new get out of my house hate program toward it’s employees that would dare do what is legal and engage in a civil Gay marriage.

Where does the madness end???

To Avoid Funding Gay Marrieds, Catholic Charities Denies Benefits to All Spouses
Today (March 1, 2010), Catholic Charities President and CEO Edward Orzechowski sent out a memo to staffers informing them of the change to the health care coverage, which will go into effect tomorrow.

In short: If you and your spouse are already enrolled in Catholic Charities health coverage, your spouse will be grandfathered in. Starting tomorrow, however, new employees (or newly married employees, hint hint) will not be allowed to add spouses to the plan. So: Longtime employees will receive the spousal benefits they’ve always had; Catholic Charities will get to keep its pool of covered spouses gay-free; only fresh employees and gays will feel the sting on this one.
