Trump said his proceeds from the $25 game, which" will hit toy-store shelves this spring will go to causes like cerebral palsy, AIDS and homeless.

Annie Leary was born in 1832, the second of James and Catherine Leary’s six children. The Leary family was originally from Ireland but had been established in New York for at least two generations. By the time of Annie’s birth her father was a very successful business man who could send his two daughters and four sons to the best private schools.  James Leary was an associate of John Jacob Astor, one of the wealthiest men in the United States. Remarkably, Leary and Astor amassed a fortune buying and selling beaver pelts that were used to make the tall hats worn by gentlemen in Europe and America. 

The demand for beaver pelts was such that the beaver population in North America almost became extinct. In addition, James Leary had a hat factory in which he employed poor Irish immigrants; there he developed a process that revolutionized the industry by making more affordable hats using less expensive napped nutria pelts. When the European market began to favor silk in the manufacture of hats, he was the first to introduce it in the U.S. market. His shop was the most fashionable in New York’s Chatham Square and later in Hannover Square. He was known as the “arbiter of hat fashion” in the city. At his death he left his entire fortune to his unmarried daughter Annie and not one penny to any of his other five children.

A search through the social pages of the New York Times mentions Annie in every list of fashionable parties and in every charitable board. She loved to entertain in her palatial home in the city and during the summer in Paul Cottage, Newport, Rhode Island, which she shared with her brother Arthur. Annie loved music and was a regular at the opera.  Her musical soirées featured the best chamber music and the likes of Enrico Caruso.

Her homes were furnished lavishly with Persian rugs, crystal chandeliers, antique Japanese vases, and huge gilt-framed mirrors, 68 of them. The N Y Times, August 20, 1905 describes her in formal attire: “Miss Leary is a conspicuous figure in her white satin gowns cut high, having elbow length sleeves draped with rare old lace, and wearing a small headdress of white ostrich plumes and white satin ribbon.”

When her brother Arthur, a bachelor, described as a “Beau Brummell,” one of the best know men in business and society, died in 1893, he left her a huge fortune. Her wealth was estimated to be between five and twenty million dollars.

Mentioned many times in the society pages for throwing lavish parties, Annie is many more times noted for her generosity towards the Catholic Church, and for her efforts to alleviate the plight of the poor and ill. Her love of the Eucharist led her to donate altars to poor churches both in the States and abroad. After the death of her brother Arthur she built a chapel in his name on the grounds of Bellevue Hospital in New York, the oldest and poorest in the city.  

She created the Arthur Leary Mission to care for destitute patients, to assure them access to the sacraments, and to provide them with books, toiletries, coffee and cigarettes. She was vice-president of Stony Wold, a beautiful sanatorium for destitute tuberculosis patients in the Adirondack Mountains and also vice-president of the Flower Guild, since she was especially interested in the establishment of small gardens for children in the poorer quarters of New York. Annie contributed a considerable sum of money to provide for the establishment of the community of the Fathers of the Blessed Sacrament in New York in 1900. Shortly after their arrival from Montreal, Archbishop Corrigan entrusted to them the church of Saint Jean Baptiste which served the French speaking Catholics. They continue their ministry there to this day. 

For all her good works, Pope Leo XXIII conferred on her the title of Countess on October 11, 1901; Pope Pius X later re-conferred the title.

“Successful Americans” – November 1900 

...During the last twenty years as Rector of St. Leo's Father Ducey has probably accomplished more for the “submerged tenth” than any other man of his resources in New York.  These philanthropic acts are not of common knowledge, however, for the reason that the kindly priest will never talk about them and if a visitor approaches such a topic the talk is diverted to literature, the arts, or sciences, or kindred generalities adapted to desultory conversation.

Perhaps the newspaper men realize more fully than any other class the extent of Father Ducey's generosity to the unfortunate.  It is within the writer's knowledge that during the last two years this notable priest has received more than twenty thousand applications for assistance many of which were from strangers in New York.  Of these over fifty per cent secured personal interviews and obtained material succor adapted to their several necessities while quite as many unquestionably undeserving were sent away.

It may truly be said that Father Ducey is the counsellor of the rich, the brother of the poor, and a father to humanity.  He believes in community of effort and resource.  The wealth and the woe of mankind excite him equally to establish more harmonious relations between labor and capital.  Only a few weeks ago he demonstrated the accuracy of this estimate of his character by visiting Hazelton, Penn., and the contiguous coal mining sections of that State in order that the American public might learn through the medium of his pen the exact differences existing between mine operators and their employees.  

Father Ducey has been active in nearly every movement inaugurated in New York designed to bring about municipal reform.  His independence of spirit has occasionally provoked the criticism of his ecclesiastical superiors but his views have always been so exalted and disinterested that censure could find no lodgment.

…Since his installation at St Leo's Father Ducey has watched his flock in that parish for a score of years.  Among his parishioners are many multi-millionaires. distinguished scientists. and notable leaders well as others in the various professions equally devout but lacking in acumen and substance as compared with more fortunate fellow worshipers.  A proportion of the church expense is from the priest's private means.  

A few years ago Father Ducey had his called to the need existing in all large cities for a place suitable for the reception of the "stranger dead" until relatives could arrive and inter the remains. Hotels are averse to sheltering corpses even of old time guests and they invariably refuse to receive a body for which temporary shelter is required.  Father Ducey determined to fill this need so far as New York was concerned.  The result is the only structure of its kind in the United States. It adjoins the church on Twenty-eighth Street, cost $75,000 and has been open for eleven months.  

In inaugurating this benevolent project Father Ducey expended several thousands from his own resources and the balance was subscribed solely by his non-Catholic friends. “I refrained from asking Catholics to contribute” said Father Ducey, “as I wished to be perfectly free so to incorporate the work that whoever succeeds me will be bound to carry out my purpose in the interest of the 'stranger dead' of any and all denominations.”

And so it is that during the present year this unique structure has been the scene of fifteen funeral services which otherwise would have been performed in the back room of an undertaker's shop.

You want to be careful about generalities. Rich people in one country don't act the same as rich people in another country,' " he said.

One of the things that makes this story so jaw-dropping is the presumption -- on the part of Langone, and as ever on the part of CNBC -- that those who see or read it will sympathize with the petulant wealthy. Do you really want to make things harder for people who are so much wealthier and more successful than you? CNBC constantly asks its viewers. Do you think we can afford to let them get upset?

I do feel for Cardinal Dolan, caught between the demands of fundraising in a wealthy city and the clear teaching of a very popular pope. I wouldn't want to be explaining Evangelii Gaudiumto any prospective donors over breakfast. Still, I'd like to think that, if pressed, I could do a little bit better than "The pope loves poor people. He also loves rich people. He loves people, alright? He's not into the condemning game."

A hell of a lot of salt and or calories for all the fat ass obese people on welfare eating with Gubmint food stamps. A hell of lot of poison being fed to America but that is another story.

Somewhere along the time line Compassionate Conservative got mixed up with politics and religion and leeches on the government dole selling an outsourced – it is cheaper to pay churches to feed the poor tag – which is a lie – but it sounds good in a soundbite.

I see that the godless Tea Party, wrapped in the flag and inhumane bubble of ethnic Catholicism in Pennsylvania has had a “Year of the Bible” in 2012 resolution passed in the Pennsylvania Legislature. 

Now “Year of the Bible” Rick Saccone after a lifetime of living on the public dole, of never having a private sector job before 2002 or so wants to forcefully indoctrinate all public school students with an “In God We Trust” metaphoric tattoo on children’s foreheads for a feel good Guido kind of thing. I think perhaps he is passing or proposing all these greasy Dago Catholic patriotic sounding shit things in the Assembly rather as a resume builder to step up to a teaching job at Ave Maria University in Florida.

But I look at these corporate welfare people like Rick Santorum, Ken Cuccinelli or Rick Saccone living most of their lives on the top end of the stick of government handouts and see them in their tight little Italian culture bubbles looking down on an Anglo like me and having them try to expand their guinea catholic bubble around me and my private concerns.

I read about a hypocrite like Rick Santorum homeschooling his kids and then having then forced to be driven by a bunch of groupies to daily mass at a Opus Dei parish like St. Catherine of Sienna in Great Falls Virginia and I want to free those slaves of his children from his patriarchal tyranny.

Or I hear Ken Cuccinelli rant about God should punish this nation more because of Abortion. Man, get a life. Stop beating your wife etc.

Susan LaPierre’s NRA Women's Leadership Conference in Houston a Complete Success

However, her parents, siblings and  numerous medical professionals dispute that, saying that she was in a minimally conscious state and could substantially improve with therapy and new technology. But the court and Michael Schiavo consistently rejected any attempts at new testing or therapy.  

Terri’s parents, Mary and Robert Schindler Sr., brother Bobby and sister Suzanne battled Michael Schiavo in court for nearly 10 years, arguing that she was not in a persistent vegetative state as Judge George Greer decreed and that she would not want to die in such a manner.

Carl A. Anderson is named in that site as Ronny Reagan’s go to man on all things Catholic. Talk about the pope in the basement of the White House thing with the John Kennedy Presidential Campaign, the church did not get the pope in the White House but it did get –

Carl started out life as working as “an assistant to John Svahn, Assistant to the President for Policy Development (OPD). The Reagan Library does not currently have a Carl Anderson collection for his time in OPD.” 

The lack of files is explained away as the files moved over in his promotion to Office of Public Liaison (Catholics Etc.) or he didn’t do any paperwork in the brief stint under John Svahan. (how do you spell paper shredder?)

John Svahan, by the way, has since moved on to senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank founded by two uber-catholics following the fallout of the Nixon Watergate scandal.

Co-founder of the Heritage Foundation is Edwin Feulner, whose pet project outside of American politics is the Fundacion Burke http://www.fundacionburke.org/actividades/ , a political education organization for young Spanish men to learn Conservative values and even get into Internship programs in conservative think tanks stateside in the United States. 

Getting back to Supreme Knight Carl Anderson, some of his Reagan White House files are available in the Reagan archive. Half of about a dozen and half “Abortion” files are available, the rest are probably not imaged and would probably only be available through a Freedom of Information request.

All four files on AIDS are listed as available.

The sixteen files on Reagan Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork remain sealed.

In fact, Carl Anderson’s usefulness or worn out welcome at the White House came almost exactly with the Senate shooting down Bork’s nomination in October 1987.  No doubt sneaking Opus Dei parishioner Anton Scalia into the Supreme Court in 1986 was too much of a lucky thing that Reagan / Anderson and Company had to push the limits of credulity, greed, Senate gullibility, so much so that Teddy Kennedy, who was not always a stupid man, had to put the full force of his political prestige against the Robert Bork appointment.

Carl went onto a decade of grand knight in charge of the Washington D.C. Knights jurisdiction before becoming Supreme Knight in 2000 just in time for George W. Bush’s election and “Faith Based Initiative” handouts to the Catholic Bishops among other dying member base religious organizations.

One other Supreme Knight laurel not mentioned in Wikipedia is as Vice President and Board Member of the money pit appendage of Catholic University, the shadowy John Paul II Institute (front for the CIA?/Opus Dei/Legion of Christ), an organization that seems to be a clearing house for Spanish speaking priests that need some American language, political orientation, PR polish before being put into lower echelons of future power in Catholic Church Institutions such as Seminaries, Schools, Universities in the decades to come.  I think Archbishop Chaput is someone, one of several, now in that process of recycling Legion of Christ members into future positions of American Catholic power. It is a big job. So many loyal priests and so little time to place them strategically elsewhere.

The Papal Foundation – The Pope’s Slush Fund

While something important and moral was going in the secular court system of Philadelphia this week, the pope’s bagman, Bishop Bransfield was in Rome doing the grand tour with all the rich little old ladies who gave so generously to the pope’s private slushfund/charity this year. No doubt some real charity gets done with some of these funds but one has to wonder why money cannot be directly contributed to Vatican Charities and why the Pope needs funds out of the mainstream accounting system of the Vatican. Sounds a little bit like Nixon and his secret stash of cash for the sake of politics to me.

The official story is something like the pope presents a wish list of all the charities he wants to fund and the American Bishops gather around and vie for favor with the pontiff to get rich catholics to donate money to this fund.  The so-called Peter’s Pence fund collected once a year at mass for the upkeep of the Vatican is for the ordinary catholics in the pews, the people that don’t really count because they don’t have the swag to impress the big boys in the hierarchy.

Peter’s Pence was organized by the crazy pope Pius IX after he locked himself up in the Vatican and lost his income form slave run territories in Italy. One or two old papal palaces in Rome itself but he withdrew from the new secular government of Italy now centered in the capital city of Rome.  Pius found the most secure part of the Vatican in the highest place in the Vatican, the treasury way up in the sky. How Feng Shui. To this day, the papal apartment shares floor space with that old treasury that houses golden tiaras, chalices and jewels centuries old.  No doubt a pope in need to escape the Vatican wants some bling to take along to find digs in a safer place in case of emergencies, angry crowds etc.

The Papal Foundation was founded by Caridinal Krol of Philadelphia, the Polish American from Chicago whose own ambitions to become pope ended when he realized that a Karol Wohtyja of Poland was a better politician and no doubt backed by the CIA in terms of being a pawn to win the so-called cold war. John Paul I was no doubt in the way to that CIA gameplan?  Just speculation on that point.

The Papal Foundation do doubt funded many dissident groups in Poland and contributed to the downfall of the Iron Curtain.  All well and good.  But now that Benedict the German is pope, the same fund is used for “charity” same as wink nod, JPII used it for “charity”.

In a way, Cardinal Krol and his corrupt regime operating out of the office building that he built at 222 N.!7^th Street behind the Cathedral in Philadelphia needed influence in Rome, in corners of the Vatican when his mismanagement of the Child Abuse situation in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia got out of control as evidenced decades later by civil authorities having to try and take control of the criminal enterprise of child abuse and cover up at “222”.

So, the more you give to the Pope and his crony charities, if they are real, the more influence you have in the Vatican to cover up crimes against children? How do you spell Marcial Maciel?
