Day of Rage in Tucson Arizona 2011 - Revisited

(February 7, 2011)

I lived and worked in Tucson Arizona for close to eight years back in the 1990s. I worked for a short time, 100 yards down the road from the recent mass murders there that involved the shooting of U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords of the U.S. Congress.

As stated I worked down the road from the Safeway and its parking lot, the scene of this recent American-style tragedy. I even ate lunch a few times in a food court setting in the front of the supermarket way back when.

I researched this matter of the shootings that took the life of a nine year old girl among others. The date is January 8, 2011. Seems like two months ago instead of one month to me. Time seems to be compressed sometimes concerning memory.

I had written an account of the attack on Rep. Giffords Tucson office at the end of the debate and vote on Health Care Reform last year. The attack in the middle of the night and broken glass brought to mind the terrible tragedy of Kristallnacht in Nazi controlled Germany in November 1938 against Jews in the population. I made reference to that event because Ms. Giffords is Jewish.

The apparently troubled young man who did the shootings and these murders seems to have bought into a uniquely American style of settling arguments or supplementing mental disorders with guns.

Because I had been in this place in Tucson and knew its layout I did not write anything or comment until now. I felt the tragedy in a personal sense having a shared experience of the geography with the victims. I should also note that it took me five years to finally write down my experiences of the 911 tragedy here in NYC.

I also wanted to turn a corner in this blog whereby I did not want to poll parrot the party line coming out of the media. The media turns on cable and cable turns on the middle class who can afford it. The media rightly or wrongly from left or from right seems to feed on the energy of rage both in content and filler. I need to and we all need to as well step back from the edge of that rage that permeates our complex modern society.

Rage is not only a middle class thing but perhaps a middle aged thing. It comes from the disappointment from expectations not fulfilled. It comes from recognizing the disappointment from the perspective of age and or wisdom from life experience.

I do not want to merely echo the media and its sounds of fury.

Now a month later I can look and see how death by random acts of violence is fed by rage and guns.

I do not object to hunters having rifles in their homes with or without permits. I do object to weapons of war with high capacity discharge being sold in America. They are not necessary in a civilized society.

I think that licensing handguns within the confines of city limits is the right of the well being of the population of that densely populated city to assure protection from violence and violent mental illness spilling into the streets and onto the parking lots of America.

I am not advocating repeal of the second amendment’s right to bear arms. I am trying to find common grounds with all parties to seek a solution to too much gun power in America and to too many guns.

The days of the wilderness are long gone. The days of conflict with the native Indian population are long gone. In the twenty first century, a fetish for guns and gun power is a bit outdated and obsessive. It speaks of the breakdown of community and loss of civility in our society.

The gun lobby and the media lobby both seem to be catering to keeping the rage up to sell their products. Whatever.

I am glad that Representative Giffords survived and may well have a normal life returned to her after much therapy.

Prayers for the victims and their families in Tucson. Prayers for the perpetrators, both the lobbyists of hate and rage, as well as for the disturbed young man who committed this crime.

Guns Guns Guns - Bat Shit Crazy in Tucson Arizona - Shoplifter shot in parking lot by customer packing a gun.

Customer follows alleged shoplifter out of store and shoots suspect.  SMH

I used to buy gas here in the nineties. So the idea that somebody would take the law into their own hands – that owning or holding a gun is somehow some sacred tome of righteousness is an offshoot of the worship of the vague right to hold arms in the Second Amendment and the NRA’s lobbying efforts to sell guns to fill fear needs created by the gun industry in America through evil twat’s like Susan and Wayne LaPierre – Roman Catholics in good standing in Great Falls, Virginia.

Below comments better than I can write.

TUCSON- A shoplifting suspect is in the hospital Sunday afternoon after a citizen shot him.

Around 2:30 p.m., the male suspect entered the Circle K near Grant Road and Oracle Road. Tucson Police believes he shoplifted then fled the scene.

A citizen followed after him. Both were involved in an altercation and the citizen shot the suspect.

The suspect was transported to Banner UMC with life threatening injuries.

Welfare Queen Cliven Bundy Wants to Steal US Property – Calls Theft “States Rights”

The Republican Party is rapidly descending into a mob of gun totting Anarchists and Cannibals. They are incapable of creating, building up - or preserving anything including the Constitution.

They want to steal my share of our (US) property out west. I live in New York and Cliven Bundy that wants to cheat me on the rent on that land is just another Welfare Queen as far as I am concerned. All this “states rights” BS is just that – BULLSHIT!

A year after his dangerous armed standoff with federal officials, outlaw rancher Cliven Bundy has become the face of a radical bill in Nevada — and similar efforts in 10 other Western states — to seize and sell off America’s public lands.

Introduced last month by Assemblywoman Michele Fiore (R), who is perhaps best known for controversial comments on guns, race, and healthcare, Nevada’s “Bundy Bill” would authorize the state to seize U.S. public lands within its borders and prohibit the federal government from using any land without the state’s permission. It would also give county commissioners authority to sell off public lands for development.

Corporate/Personhood = Whore of Babylon - to Damn all Mankind - Hobby Lobby Green Family Cult

Whore of Babylon by Dave Lebow

They are a religious cult.

They are an unbaptized corporation/person claiming exemptions that apply to other people who willingly contribute to the common good of the community and the republic. These democratic deadbeats don’t like this country anymore?

If they that have cash and claim to be religious, why not sell guns at Hobby Lobby and of course not do Federal Background Checks because that would be a violation of their religious cult beliefs.

If they start shooting and killing shoplifters in their stores, the killings will of course be justified to protect religious property and on sacred ground not subject to secular laws and justice?

The more the Religious Right gets money, gets money, gets money and power, power, power, the more they become like the Religious Whore of Babylon described in their man made/written bible and or like the Medieval Roman Church.

What’s in it for me to tolerate these assholes – corporation/people – Cult Leaders - Jim Jones - David Green etc. - pagans – demons - morons from Oklahoma and other red states?

They are living on our tax dime! Who died and made them god?

Dysfunctional Nature of American Culture 2013

Going back to Franklin Graham’s photo-op trip to Russian Mission Alaska to “feed the poor”, I must say the then Gov. Palin’s remarks about Native American culture in Alaska were ignorant – they were not malicious – they were insular and insensitive. While many would try to make Sarah a monster, she is the typical stay at home mom type who has let her man rule the roost so to speak.

Running a cracker jack town like Wasilla was no doubt in the part time and President of the local PTA league of things. She was close to being a stay at home mom, refusing to stay at the Governor’s mansion in Juneau and commuting back and forth by plane to work. As such she becomes an icon or a hero to all those clinging to the once familiar dad works and mom stays at home to cook, clean and take care of the kids scenario.

Working moms as a large piece of the population has peaked during wars but the idea of two working parents became a necessity in the seventies with inflation making it impossible to live on one salary. Enough said on that.

I go back to a book on pop psychology “I’m Okay, You’re Okay” in the early seventies that said many things unpopular with the professional shrink community. I do not have an exact quote but I remember reading how a dysfunctional family might have its roots in events going back generations. When this book was written I don’t think that child abuse and such were even greatly talked about.

Using that pop psychology idea as a model I look at United States history differently. Outsiders see one United States. There are fifty states and maybe a dozen commonly functioning regions. The original idea of putting a name on a map, of dividing a land in a distant capital is part of the present day dysfunction of America in places.

One of the things on U.S. maps is how in a past function setting, mountains and rivers became logical lines on maps in that surveying was an impossible or costly matter.

In modern times you see a vibrant city like New York, Philadelphia or St. Louis and because of a waterway, a line on a map, the regional potential of these cities shifts in other directions. As a result you have Newark, Camden or East St. Louis disconnected from a sister city’s prosperity and progressive function. Some cities and areas of the U.S. do prosper in a regional functional setting. Each must be taken on a situation by situation basis.

The outsider if they see the United States they will say that the U.S. was spared the direct horrors of war and destruction in WWII. True. But if one looks at the history of the U.S. you begin to see hot spots where battles between states in the Civil War has left it mark on the psyche of a state or a region. In fact Americans in the Civil War were guinea pigs for European munitions’ manufacturers' observations and design. The horrors of WWI and its anti-human technology scales got its initial designs tested in the American Civil War.

What we may be seeing in these lean economic times are some dysfunctional aspects of America Culture that gets sidelined by mainstream historians in prosperous times but become blatantly evident now.

Since this is a blog and not a history book I will mention a few things I have observed of late about guns, race and religion.

One, that the obsession of guns with Americans may have started with the Indians. The original settlers from Europe pushed the native population further and further back not so much by killing the enemy so to speak, as much as over populating a region. The overflow of the European culture pushed the natives back who were not assimilated into the greater white culture.

With guns, Americans fought the British and threw them out. History will say that the loyalists or royalists went out on ships from New York city in 1781. No. Only the well to do or the lucky got shipped out. The rest lost their lands in the east coast and walked to Canada or walked out west. I cannot talk about Canadians here but I believe that paranoid obsessions of Americans in the present day has to do with Loyalists on the run and with only guns to protect themselves. What I see when I observe a fanatical NRA member is somebody still looking over their shoulders centuries after their ancestors lost in the Revolutionary war.

When Jackson made it official federal government policy to forcibly transport Indians out west, he did so with a racist bent. Jefferson wanted Indians to live in peaceful land ghettos (apartheid) trading with the white culture. Jackson saw Jefferson’s assimilation working too well in that assimilation meant racial mixing. What’s next after you have a sizable population of mixed Indians with Europeans? Next step is mixing with Africans which were slaves. America on all levels and in all regions of the country is still dealing with the side effects of the abolition of slavery one hundred and forty four years later.

Jackson’s idea to send Indians out west was obsolete from day one – the “Trail of Tears”, in hindsight, was unnecessary. The federal government did not get all the Indians in the east and shipping them out west would not solve anything with the railroad only a generation away from shrinking the world.

The same way that descendents of loyalists gone out west are looking over their shoulders, you have fundamentalists that are still locked mentally into 16th and 17th century European religious warfare. The push out west was in a way, in some cases, having one past disfunctionality overlapping with another. One of the things I see most in the hotspots of American fundamentalism are places with tons of violence associated with them in American history with territorial wars, the Indians, Civil War and land grabs.

Surely, the bible belt across the south is a place where Jesus is a code word for Robert E. Lee, the coming messiah, and such. The south along with the loyalists lost - and got lost - along the way in history.

Kansas and Oklahoma, diamonds on the fundamentalist tiara, have extreme histories of violence before, during and after the Civil War. And within the context of a population always moving on. In a way a lot of people in Oklahoma, were put there by Jackson and the invisible prison bars are still keeping them there.

Look at history differently. When I hear these hack southern politicians, GOP and blue dogs, their thinly veiled rhetoric is something out of Gone with the Wind – which of course is code talk for the good old days of majority white rule. Majority white rule is obsolete. It goes the way of all dysfunctional matters in the next few years.

The good future for all of us - will be for those of us who do not look back on the present dysfunctional state of the American Political, Economic and Belief establishments.

Zimmerman Ticking Time Bomb and References to Sandy Hook Casually Cross Florida Police Chief’s E-Mail Gossip

(AP Photo Jessica Hill)

George Zimmerman, NRA Wayne LaPierre’s “Good Man With A Gun” seen as Potential “Good Man With A Gun” at another Sandy Hook????
Only in A-Merica Folks! Is Florida really part of A-Merica?

Steve Bracknell is the chief of the Lake Mary police department, which is investigating Zimmerman, 29, for allegedly threatening his estranged wife, Shellie, and his father-in-law with a gun on Monday.

In an email exchange with a Lake Mary resident critical of the department's initial decision not to arrest or charge Zimmerman, Bracknell appears to agree with the writer's description of Zimmerman, acquitted in July of murdering Martin, an unarmed black teenager, as "a ticking time bomb".

"Zimmerman is a Sandy Hook, Aurora waiting to happen," the resident, Santiago Rodriguez, told Bracknell in his first email, seeking an explanation for why Lake Mary officers did not charge Zimmerman.

"Your reference to Sandy Hook … I agree," Bracknell replied.

At the end of a follow-up email urging Bracknell not to "give up" on the investigation, Rodriguez wrote: "Sooner or later another mother and father is going to be on CNN lashing out against the system due to this man snapping."

Bracknel replied: "As for your final thoughts, again, on a personal note, I agree."

God Punishes Vagina Hater Sen Buck Newton’s District with Floods – anti/woman, anti/gay, anti/background checks/guns – Flood Flood Flood – Rath of a Just GOD!

As of 3 p.m., authorities in Catawba County -- in North Carolina's Piedmont region and including the cities of Newton and Hickory -- had done 10 swift-water rescues for residents needing help getting out of their homes and vehicles, said Mark Pettit, an emergency official in the county.

Some 52 roads in the inland county had been closed at that point, six of which might not see any traffic for as long as three months, according to Pettit. The flooding prompted county officials to declare a state of emergency.
Even without rain falling mid-Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning through midnight Sunday.

Who Stole the Second Amendment? – Corporate Anarchists

People who want to destroy the government are anarchists by definition. Guns would seem to be the means to overthrow a government or a means to survive after the veneer of civilization collapses.

While having worked in the Federal Government briefly, I have no doubts that 25% of Government could be eliminated tomorrow across the board including the military. Such a transition would probably put the economy into another economic tailspin and depression great recession.

Getting back to the second amendment, I can see merit in actor Danny Glover in Britain recently stating that the second amendment of two hundred years ago was a concession of the federal government to immediate local concerns such as slave uprisings or retaliation from Native Americans for the forceful taking away of their lands and or means of survival through nature.

No doubt the National Rifle Association NRA was once a gun clubby thing until the eighties and commoditizing everything in the economy not nailed down and putting a value on it and making a buck off it and not living up to any original purpose and such. Knights of Columbus as an example of how a simple domestic Catholic charity and insurance co-op got turned into an arm of the global Vatican Bank INC and money launderer for the GOP.

In government, I do not want to say what departments need radical reform or dismantling. I will say having working in the Housing and Urban Development, that the government in this day and age should not be the guarantor of mortgages. That government entities such and Fanny and Freddy were used to outsource risk and responsibility away from private corporations and onto the Gubmint. That's gubmint we can so without. Put responsibility back on the shoulders of private capital.

The Janus speak of Corporate Fox News and the wanting of Conservatives to have less government is really a way of saying corporations want more government guarantees of corporate mismanagement at the expense of the social safety net to pay for the mistakes of coke head bankers and coke header Wall Street brokers.

That all this talk of taking guns away by the government is bullshit.

Government is incapable of doing most things. FEMA in Katrina is a great example of how Government really or really does not work. Can you imagine them, these FEMA types, trying to take anybody’s guns away? LOL

Talk of the second amendment is a distraction. Another Fox News Noise Machine effort while real responsibility and fiscal common sense in the management of government is being usurped by the new Anarchists, the Corporations. With Wayne LaPierre and his million dollar annual salary and expense accounts cheerleading for the corporate anarchists, gun manufacturers etc.

The real New Anarchists are the corporations that have stolen, usurped the needs and services of the common man’s government. Corporations are now trying to pawn off responsibility to bullshit issues like guns and the second amendment via FOX NEWS while they steal our national treasury right out from under us just like they have already done so with our American Bill of Rights (Second Amendment Included).

RC Cheyenne WY Bishop’s Franchise – How Much is the Buy-in? - Follow the Money

I fear the money laundering scheme set up by the God Emperor General Wojtyla aka JPII is still up and running and still collecting cash to defeat the Soviet hegemony in Eastern Europe.

Of course the cold war is over and there is no need to launder cash but hey, once set in motion, an object tends to continue in motion. (“The evil that men do lives after them.”)

I would wonder looking at how poor boys like Bishop Etienne of Cheyenne, who obviously approves of the local Knights of Columbus raffle for guns scam, what his cut of the action is?

That no doubt the check for $54,000 raised from the Gun Raffle for the old priest’s home above in 2011, it must be deposited in the Vatican Bank that handles all charities and funds for all religious orders, even charties run by local dioceses.

It is a way of monitoring funds held by religious orders and dioceses. It is also a two edged sword whereby funds deposited there can then be drawn down from a legitimate banking source such as the Vatican Bank.

One has to wonder if a legitimate audit trail of funds existed to be examined, how a check for $54,000 from gun sales/charity gets deposited first in a K of C account for the Cheyenne Diocese or some other account in Rome under Cheyenne’s name.

One has to wonder if some accounting error might occur and somehow a zero gets added and $540,000 gets deposited in Rome, then $540,000 would have an audit tag of the Vatican Bank under the heading of Charity.

One might also wonder if the checks drawn on $540,000 goes out on the check heading of Diocese of Cheyenne or Local council whatever of the K of C or the Heritage Foundation etc. ?

One would have to wonder too the source of the accounting error might come from the mysterious cash difference of $486,000 and where the heck did that come from?????

All just a money laundering theoretical scenario.

Having worked in the back office of legitimate, well regulated, regularly audited banks in my life, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is not. Beware.

But getting back to a poor boy like Bishop Etienne and the promissory note of sorts he had to in theory sign to get promoted from parish priest in Indianapolis to Bishop of Cheyenne. In other words look the other way and or sign off on all diocese deposits held in the Vatican Bank? For the greater good of Holy Mother Church and more importantly future promotions?

Whatever.

There also seems to be emerging from my POV a certain ratline, of musical chairs of certain dioceses (no money down franchises?) in the United State where poor boys from the heartland can rise all the way to red hat in a matter of years through these farmland sci-fi vortexes. Cash and not spirituality count in the new global spreadsheet reality. So true.

Also, the call for religious freedom from the church ladies of the RC church in America want to protect universities, hospitals and charities from Obama’s godless call to contraception. Again whatever.

Speaking of abused Charities, I am reminded of Bishop Zubik of Pittsburgh coming from Green Bay to make way for Bishop Ricken to move out and make room in Cheyenne for Father Bishop Etienne.

Bishop Etienne’s primary consecrator as bishop was none other than the magical mystical Vatican multi-tasker Chuck Chaput of Philly and secondary consecrator Bishop Ricken whose own personal bishop’s primary consecrator was none other than the late “great” JPII.

Surprisingly, Bishop Etienne’s Wikipedia bio conveniently does not have an audit trail mention of his episcopal lineage. An oversight?

Whatever.
