Stephen Fry - BBC "Out There" - Human Dignity - Gay RIghts

Ran into this video over at Bill Lindsey’s Bilgrimage and his eternal campaign for human rights and human dignity – all human dignity.

Very interesting video of Stephen Fry. I have to admit that the same video word for word from an American openly gay actor produced by PBS would not have the same impact on myself. Something about the mother tongue and the mother culture that on some level has true stage presence in the documentary side of English speaking common cultures.

Six Degrees of Separation Between Rick Saccone and an Eight Dollar Cup of Faith Based Soup in a Soupline given to a Homeless Man or Woman or Child, paid for at taxpayers’ expense

I tried to find a picture of the old Lipton’s Onion Soup Mix with a picture of onion soup on the box. Somewhere along the timeline, nobody eats onion soup out of a box anymore.  The Lipton Onion Soup Mix has a picture of onion flavored sour cream dip made from the box. A hell of a lot of salt and or calories for all the fat ass obese people on welfare eating with Gubmint food stamps. A hell of lot of poison being fed to America but that is another story.

Somewhere along the time line Compassionate Conservative got mixed up with politics and religion and leeches on the government dole selling an outsourced – it is cheaper to pay churches to feed the poor tag – which is a lie – but it sounds good in a soundbite.

Whatever.

I see that the godless Tea Party, wrapped in the flag and inhumane bubble of ethnic Catholicism in Pennsylvania has had a “Year of the Bible” in 2012 resolution passed in the Pennsylvania Legislature.

Now “Year of the Bible” Rick Saccone after a lifetime of living on the public dole, of never having a private sector job before 2002 or so wants to forcefully indoctrinate all public school students with an “In God We Trust” metaphoric tattoo on children’s foreheads for a feel good Guido kind of thing. I think perhaps he is passing or proposing all these greasy Dago Catholic patriotic sounding shit things in the Assembly rather as a resume builder to step up to a teaching job at Ave Maria University in Florida.

But I look at these corporate welfare people like Rick Santorum, Ken Cuccinelli or Rick Saccone living most of their lives on the top end of the stick of government handouts and see them in their tight little Italian culture bubbles looking down on an Anglo like me and having them try to expand their guinea catholic bubble around me and my private concerns.

I read about a hypocrite like Rick Santorum homeschooling his kids and then having then forced to be driven by a bunch of groupies to daily mass at a Opus Dei parish like St. Catherine of Sienna in Great Falls Virginia and I want to free those slaves of his children from his patriarchal tyranny.

Or I hear Ken Cuccinelli rant about God should punish this nation more because of Abortion. Man, get a life. Stop beating your wife etc.

Well anyway, I am thinking about how George W Bush got the fundies all on the same page to back him and get him elected and his promise of a bribe in return with the White House Faith Based Free Blow Jobs for people with a collar office of parasitic opportunies. Which is illegal under the constitution. Obama gave it a slight name change but the eight dollars a cup Liption Onion Soup still gets doled out to the poor because of the horseshit PR moniker of “Compassionate Conservative” (an oxymoron – emphasis on the moron part).

So you gots Rick Saccone wanting to probably trade up once he’s made Pennsylvania a theocracy to move on to greener pastures in Florida. Does not have a complete bio. Do not know where he was born. A carpetbagger in Pennsylvania, a retired military lifer, consultant on torture to the military when needed and hired at St. Vincent’s College in Latrobe Pa..

I can remember when the best beer in America was made in Latrobe, Rolling Rock, before it got bought out and is now being churned out under that same label at the Budweiser MEGA Brewery in Newark New Jersey across from the airport.

Like the gone before quality of beer, I somehow doubt the quality at St Vincent’s is the same since carpetbaggers like Rick Saccone or Jim Towey arrived like locusts on that once great teaching institution.

Something about price and quality. While an eight dollar cup of onion soup at a trendy restaurant sounds appetizing, the poor in America get the eight dollar cup of onion soup out of a paper packet and through the filter, laundered fee based Faith Based Circle Jerk for rich clerics organization.

Here are six degrees of separation between the poor and the uncle sugar paying for many people’s dimes.

One – You got Ted Cruz organizing the fundies into a Bush for Christ President campaign.

Two – You got the White House Faith Based bogus thing.

Three – You got Jim Towey, first real head of the WH Faith Based Free Blow Job for Christ thing.

Four – Now Jim Towey gets a temporary job at St. Vincent’s (Why? Fuck if I Know.)

Five – You got out of work lifer Rick Saccone finding a job at St. Vincent’s before Jim’s arrival but Jim leaves in 2010, and no doubt told Rick before he left to go south that it was Okay to teach at St. Vincent’s and run for a part time job in the State Legislature to help pay the bills etc.

Six – Ave Maria University – UberCatholic Heaven on Earth depending on you own personal twisted POV where Jim now is and no doubt would like a good church militant type like Rick Saccone to whip the Florida State Leigislature into shape to reestablish the “theocracy of our founding fathers?” there.

Whatever.

Where are the poor in there? Anywhere there is a paycheck from the government and a bunch of faith based parasites to serve the luke warm make with LUV Liption’s powdered Onion Soup Mix.

Hijos de Puta!

Koch Brothers = Jim Demint = Heritage Foundation Shutdown Fails

The Koch brothers have denied having any skin in the shutdown game, but the simple fact is their own groups were instrumental in orchestrating it, from lobbying congressmen to take a hard line on defunding Obamacare to harassing those who didn’t get on board. The New York Times points to a Heritage Foundation effort to run internet ads in North Carolina districts against 100 candidates who didn’t sign a pledge from NC Rep Mark Meadows urging Boehner to push for defunding. Eventually 80 of them got on board.
Both FreedomWorks and the Heritage Foundation urged the House to vote “no” on the final deal that came from Senate and was resoundingly passed. So how do they feel now that their shutdown was squashed? Bitter.
Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, called Republicans’ capitulation “a total surrender.” He’s still convinced his hostage-taking shutdown strategy would have worked, if Republicans had just had the balls to take it all the way to a default: “We don’t have regrets,” Kibbe said. “This was a very winnable fight, if the Republicans had been willing to fight.”

Dysfunctional Nature of American Culture 2013

Going back to Franklin Graham’s photo-op trip to Russian Mission Alaska to “feed the poor”, I must say the then Gov. Palin’s remarks about Native American culture in Alaska were ignorant – they were not malicious – they were insular and insensitive. While many would try to make Sarah a monster, she is the typical stay at home mom type who has let her man rule the roost so to speak.

Running a cracker jack town like Wasilla was no doubt in the part time and President of the local PTA league of things. She was close to being a stay at home mom, refusing to stay at the Governor’s mansion in Juneau and commuting back and forth by plane to work. As such she becomes an icon or a hero to all those clinging to the once familiar dad works and mom stays at home to cook, clean and take care of the kids scenario.

Working moms as a large piece of the population has peaked during wars but the idea of two working parents became a necessity in the seventies with inflation making it impossible to live on one salary. Enough said on that.

I go back to a book on pop psychology “I’m Okay, You’re Okay” in the early seventies that said many things unpopular with the professional shrink community. I do not have an exact quote but I remember reading how a dysfunctional family might have its roots in events going back generations. When this book was written I don’t think that child abuse and such were even greatly talked about.

Using that pop psychology idea as a model I look at United States history differently. Outsiders see one United States. There are fifty states and maybe a dozen commonly functioning regions. The original idea of putting a name on a map, of dividing a land in a distant capital is part of the present day dysfunction of America in places.

One of the things on U.S. maps is how in a past function setting, mountains and rivers became logical lines on maps in that surveying was an impossible or costly matter.

In modern times you see a vibrant city like New York, Philadelphia or St. Louis and because of a waterway, a line on a map, the regional potential of these cities shifts in other directions. As a result you have Newark, Camden or East St. Louis disconnected from a sister city’s prosperity and progressive function. Some cities and areas of the U.S. do prosper in a regional functional setting. Each must be taken on a situation by situation basis.

The outsider if they see the United States they will say that the U.S. was spared the direct horrors of war and destruction in WWII. True. But if one looks at the history of the U.S. you begin to see hot spots where battles between states in the Civil War has left it mark on the psyche of a state or a region. In fact Americans in the Civil War were guinea pigs for European munitions’ manufacturers' observations and design. The horrors of WWI and its anti-human technology scales got its initial designs tested in the American Civil War.

What we may be seeing in these lean economic times are some dysfunctional aspects of America Culture that gets sidelined by mainstream historians in prosperous times but become blatantly evident now.

Since this is a blog and not a history book I will mention a few things I have observed of late about guns, race and religion.

One, that the obsession of guns with Americans may have started with the Indians. The original settlers from Europe pushed the native population further and further back not so much by killing the enemy so to speak, as much as over populating a region. The overflow of the European culture pushed the natives back who were not assimilated into the greater white culture.

With guns, Americans fought the British and threw them out. History will say that the loyalists or royalists went out on ships from New York city in 1781. No. Only the well to do or the lucky got shipped out. The rest lost their lands in the east coast and walked to Canada or walked out west. I cannot talk about Canadians here but I believe that paranoid obsessions of Americans in the present day has to do with Loyalists on the run and with only guns to protect themselves. What I see when I observe a fanatical NRA member is somebody still looking over their shoulders centuries after their ancestors lost in the Revolutionary war.

When Jackson made it official federal government policy to forcibly transport Indians out west, he did so with a racist bent. Jefferson wanted Indians to live in peaceful land ghettos (apartheid) trading with the white culture. Jackson saw Jefferson’s assimilation working too well in that assimilation meant racial mixing. What’s next after you have a sizable population of mixed Indians with Europeans? Next step is mixing with Africans which were slaves. America on all levels and in all regions of the country is still dealing with the side effects of the abolition of slavery one hundred and forty four years later.

Jackson’s idea to send Indians out west was obsolete from day one – the “Trail of Tears”, in hindsight, was unnecessary. The federal government did not get all the Indians in the east and shipping them out west would not solve anything with the railroad only a generation away from shrinking the world.

The same way that descendents of loyalists gone out west are looking over their shoulders, you have fundamentalists that are still locked mentally into 16th and 17th century European religious warfare. The push out west was in a way, in some cases, having one past disfunctionality overlapping with another. One of the things I see most in the hotspots of American fundamentalism are places with tons of violence associated with them in American history with territorial wars, the Indians, Civil War and land grabs.

Surely, the bible belt across the south is a place where Jesus is a code word for Robert E. Lee, the coming messiah, and such. The south along with the loyalists lost - and got lost - along the way in history.

Kansas and Oklahoma, diamonds on the fundamentalist tiara, have extreme histories of violence before, during and after the Civil War. And within the context of a population always moving on. In a way a lot of people in Oklahoma, were put there by Jackson and the invisible prison bars are still keeping them there.

Look at history differently. When I hear these hack southern politicians, GOP and blue dogs, their thinly veiled rhetoric is something out of Gone with the Wind – which of course is code talk for the good old days of majority white rule. Majority white rule is obsolete. It goes the way of all dysfunctional matters in the next few years.

The good future for all of us - will be for those of us who do not look back on the present dysfunctional state of the American Political, Economic and Belief establishments.

Ted Cruz – The Chad Counting Lawyer Behind Bush’s “Victory” in 2000

"As Goeglein recounts, in 1999 while working as a Bush for President campaign aide, Ted Cruz helped broker a deal with one of the top architects of the religious right - Paul Weyrich - who Cruz appears to at the time been a personal friend of. The deal Cruz brokered enabled the Bush campaign to lock down the Christian conservative vote and so edge out other contenders for the nomination, including Senator John McCain.

"The fact that Ted Cruz, then only 29 years old, helped swing the 2000 election, because he was a personal friend to Paul Weyrich - a titan of the new right and religious right who helped create much of the early infrastructure that powers the current conservative movement - including the Moral Majority, the Heritage Foundation, and the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is astonishing. Cruz also served on the elite team of lawyers fighting the legal battle that revolved around the disputed Florida vote recount in the 2000 election."

Pennsylvania – Alabama North – In God we trust and Darwin is the Devil - State Legislation – Disruptive Thinking of the Religious Right

Stephen Bloom’s proposed Pennsylvania Trashing of Core Curriculum teaching in favor of Tea Party White Trash Science and Bible based math, 2+2=286 according to la goud book stuff, is co-sponsored by Carpetbagger Abu Ghraib Torture Expert Rep. Rick "Year of the Bible" Saccone, Tea Party Guido, to help students realize the flaws in modern science and the glories of the one true religion in the bargain etc.

How the world is seeing backward knuckle dragging Pennsylvania and its religious education rackets on the taxpayers' dime:

As in other states, the bill in Pennsylvania asserts that the teaching of scientific subjects, including evolution, climate change and human cloning can “cause controversy.” If passed, the bill would require school districts and administrators to “promote an environment” that would “encourage” students to “develop critical thinking skills and respond appropriately and respectfully to differences of opinion on controversial issues.” The districts and administrators would have to assist teachers to “help students understand, analyze, critique and review” the “strengths and weaknesses” of “scientific theories” being taught.

Corbin Brosneck’s theory of the "Disruptive Thinking" no Critical Thinking of the Religious Right. Disruptive Thinking sounds more like a disease that the Pharmas could claim to cure with a pill. Storm Trooper passive tactics by any other means to achieve the Tea Party's God's kingdom on earth?

.

Rep. Rick Saccone, Pennsylvania Church Merged with State Legislator and Iraq War Torture Expert

can guess why some Politicians want and need a National Day of Fast to Atone for their own sins, but please do not drag me into your personal hell foxhole comrade.

Public officials, media outlets and members of the public who use the words torture and coercion interchangeably are making a huge mistake - one that could threaten our safety and security.

Formerly top-secret documents declassified recently by the Obama administration describe in detail 10 interrogation techniques, including the now-infamous water-boarding. This has led to the unfortunate branding of all coercive techniques as torture.
...

We cannot apply absolutes to these ambiguous scenarios. We need reasonable guidelines that allow discretion for those risking their lives to gather the information needed to protect us.

And finally: Shall we address water-boarding? It is critical to remember that contrary to the portrayal in some media, enhanced techniques were used principally on hardened terrorists who refused to cooperate through rapport building and other noncoercive methods.

For example, intelligence officials believed Abu Zubaydah, a hardcore terrorist and planner of the 9/11 attacks, retained valuable insight into the inner workings of al-Qaida at the highest levels. He had successfully resisted all other methods of interrogation. However, it is almost impossible to train to resist water-boarding. Ultimately, he lasted 32 seconds. Given this context, I am confident most Americans would not object to using that technique.

U.S. policy must authorize the use of certain interrogation methods that fall below the threshold of torture. We cannot allow our enemies to draw a moral equivalence between compelling a prisoner to kneel for 10 minutes and chopping off his fingers one by one. Our government must insist that making a terrorist uncomfortable should not be confused, or in any way equated, with torture.

Richard Saccone, a retired counterintelligence agent, teaches international relations and political science at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa., and is the author of "The Unseen War in Iraq: Insurgents in the Shadows."

Customer Book Review:
Counterintelligence for the layperson. Richard Saccone's up close and personal vantage point in Iraq, especially Abu Ghraib gives the outsider a unique perspective that is missing from liberal and mass media reports of the Iraq war's counterintelligence challenges. It is a compendium of scenarios that reveals the depths of what we face in Iraq from Titan defense contractors' hiring of local interpreters to the undeniably soul-ess manner in which the enemy tortures and kills innocents in their quest for an untenable goal. Particularly compelling are his descriptions of the Abu G prison and how insufficiently trained and overworked government and military guards/Military Intelligence sometimes miss important clues on smuggling and intelligence gathering.

Mr. Saccone parts the veil on what happens inside Abu G. Reports from biased Red Cross evaluators to the rabid liberal international and U.S. media on how prisoner treatment are truly one-sided and do not paint an accurate picture of how the U.S. is the preferred administrator to the inmates. Although American leadership did allow Abu G excesses in the scandal, the prisoners are far more fearful of the harsh treatment and living conditions under Iraqi hands.

Rick Saconne’s Smorgasbord of Corruption Exception Bills (Wink, Nod) for Pennsylvania State Legislators Among other things Religious

Pennsylvania Flag - A State in Great Distress

Tea Party In Penna. Coup To Take Away Freedom of Beliefs – UberCatholic Tea Party Guido Rick Saccone Ready to Destroy 224 Year Old American Constitutional Right in Penna. Legislature

Allegiance to the Koch Brothers God of Money Printed on All American Money to be demanded of all children in Pennsylvania schools.

Sieg Heil -  holy name of Koch and Tea Party!

Rick Saccone (R-What else?) is ready to push forward legislation requiring all public schools in his state to display the words “In God We Trust” somewhere, in order to make non-religious students feel more awkward and unwelcome.
Saccone (which I think is Italian for a big bag or something—of what, I will let you decide), is no stranger to evangelizing from his congressional seat, which he has previously used to promote such important issues as declaring 2012 “The Year of The Bible” and trying to make Abraham Lincoln’s birthday be celebrated as a National Fast Day in which we all refuse to eat because Jesus is really great or something. Now he’s on this trip, because apparently he doesn’t have anything more important to do with his time.

Going Guido Guido Guido on You Tube:

Atheist David Koch Funds Builds Daycare Center for MIT Elites While His Tea Party Shutdown Screws all the ‘Po Folks Kids Out Of Government Paid Daycare

David H. Koch, a billionaire philanthropist and MIT graduate known as much for his conservative activism as for his generosity, had attended dozens of these meetings, but had never been so moved. “I got a tear in my eye,” he said.
Koch, who had already given the Massachusetts Institute of Technology about $150 million for research and faculty positions, decided to spend $20 million more on day care.
On Friday, the David H. Koch Childcare Center will be dedicated, in a celebration that highlights a major and ongoing shift in universities’ thinking about recruiting and retaining people who do world-class research. The best professors, scientists, and researchers are not just minds, universities have increasingly acknowledged; they have families, too.
The new center will serve 126 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. It nearly doubles MIT’s day-care slots on campus.

Nothing like working the white elites at MIT to death at a different level than in all his coal mines.  Nothing like separating mothers from their kids for 18 hours a day? etc. while mom works on new Technology to make David Koch richer.

Hell, Mike Bloomberg has already given over a billion to his alma mater Johns Hopkins. Koch for being richer than Bloomberg is one cheap son of a bitch when it comes to his alma mater MIT etc. lol

Catholic Justice Scalia Sees Satan – In the Mirror?

The interview was conducted on September 26, the 27th anniversary of Scalia's swearing-in as a justice on the high court. He is one of a record six Catholic justices on the Supreme Court.

After Scalia and Senior discussed heaven and hell (he believes in them; she doesn't), the justice said in a stage whisper, "I even believe in the devil."

"You do?" Senior replied.

"Of course! Yeah, he’s a real person. Hey, come on, that’s standard Catholic doctrine! Every Catholic believes that," Scalia said.

Senior asked Scalia if he's seen evidence of Satan's work recently.

"You know, it is curious," Scalia answered. "In the Gospels, the devil is doing all sorts of things. He’s making pigs run off cliffs, he’s possessing people and whatnot. And that doesn’t happen very much anymore. ... It’s because he’s smart."

Scalia said the Devil has gotten "wilier" and convinced people that he and God don't exist. The justice added that he doesn't think that atheists are Satan's minions, but that disbelief in God "certainly favors the devil's desires."

Senior asked if it's "frightening" to believe in the devil, which seemed to annoy Scalia.

Planet’s Middle Class of New Globol Culture Cashing Out Their Chips on Casino Stock Markets Worldwide and Hoarding Cash

The same kind of fear so rampant in the heartland of America with Doomsday Preppers, the planet’s middle class is cashing out of the rigged casino games of stock markets and their phony brand of capitalism.

"My brokers said they were really safe, but they weren't," says Stonecipher, 59, a substitute school teacher.

Americans sold the most in the five years after the crisis—$521 billion, or 9 percent of their mutual fund holdings, according to Lipper. But investors in other countries sold a larger share of their holdings: Germans dumped 13 percent; Italians and French, more than 16 percent each.

The French are "not very oriented to risk," says Cyril Blesson, an economist at Pair Conseil, an investment consultancy in Paris. "Now, it's even worse."

It's gotten worse in China, Russia and the U.K., too.

Fu Lili, 31, a psychologist in Fu Xin, a city in northeastern China, says she made 20,000 yuan ($3,267) buying and selling stocks before the crisis, more than 10 times her monthly salary then. But she won't touch them now, because she's too scared.

In Moscow, Yuri Shcherbanin, 32, a manager for an oil company, says the crash proved stocks were dangerous and he should content himself with money in the bank.

If the system keeps cheating the rubes, guess what? The rubes stay away from the rigged game.
