I do not know what Medicaid requirements are for red states currently refusing Federal Medicaid subsidies, but if you look at one third of Hobby Lobby employees at 25 hours per week at a fantastic $9.50 minimum wage - $12,350 per annum – that puts them in range of Food Stamps qualification if they in fact are supporting children? That hey, you have one part time job, go out in a busted economy and land another. Yeah right.

And a family of four on a full time Hobby Lobby full time salary at a fantastic $14.00 (Link Bottom of Page) minimum wage  - $29,120 per annum still qualifies for Food Stamps?

Hobby Lobby like WalMart depends on federal food subsidies to support their work staff? Why not tax the corporations in accordance for Free Food to their workers???

That the red state refusal of Medicaid upgrades is in fact the states using Religious Liberty Exceptions to refuse medical treatment for women’s medicine related and women sexual organ - vagina care - related Healthcare?

 That's the advice one activist McDonald's worker received when she called the company's "McResource Line," a service provided to McDonald's workers who need help with issues like child and health care. 

 "You can ask about things like food pantries. Are you on SNAP? SNAP is Supplemental Nutritional Assistance [Program] -- food stamps ... You would most likely be eligible for SNAP benefits," a McResource representative told 27-year-old Nancy Salgado, who works at a Chicago McDonald's. "Did you try and get on Medicaid? Medicaid is a federal program. It's health coverage for low income or no income adults -- and children."

The House will refuse to consider a comprehensive immigration bill that could lead to citizenship for millions of immigrants, Republican leaders said on Wednesday, and will slowly and casually consider a few border-security measures that have no chance of passing on their own. 

And, on Thursday, the House passed a farm bill that stripped out the food stamp program, breaking a pact that for decades has protected the nutrition needs of low-income Americans. It was the first time since 1973 that food stamps haven’t been part of a farm bill, and it reflected the contempt of the far right for anyone desperate enough to rely on the government for help to buy groceries.

 These actions show how far the House has retreated from the national mainstream into a cave of indifference and ignorance. House members don’t want to know that millions of Americans remain hungry (in an economy held back by their own austerity ideology), and they don’t want to deal with the desperation of immigrant families who want nothing more than a chance to work and feed themselves without fear of deportation.

On both issues, in fact, many House Republicans are proudly asserting that they will stand in the way of any attempts to conduct a conference with the Senate. That might, after all, lead to a compromise.

France Maintains Key Ban on Monsanto’s GMO MaizeCrops

In another massive victory against Monsanto and the spread of genetically modified crops, French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayraul has announced that the nation will be maintaining a key ban on the only remaining GMO currently allowed in Europe.

Known as Monsanto’s GMO maize crops, or MON810 maize, the original ban was brought forth back in March following the French court’s previous annulment on a November ban.

Thanks to activism by French citizens and serious political outcry, Monsanto is now effectively blocked from Europe’s gigantic marketplace.

This is even more true when you consider the fact that France is the largest grower of crops in all of Europe, making it an agricultural behemoth of sorts. With this move by such a large and influential nation, it will surely lead to similar legislation to pop up and succeed throughout the rest of the globe. Of course like with most other decisions regarding Monsanto, even Reuters admits (see first link) that France was under large amounts of pressure to ‘soften’ its stance on GMOs.

This is due to the fact that Monsanto has significant pull when it comes to government around the globe, with the United States in particular being the ‘launch pad’ for the biotechnology movement. We now know thanks to WikiLeaks, in fact, that United States ambassadors have actually threatened nations opposed to Monsanto’s GMO maize crops, going as far as to threaten them with ‘military-style trade wars’. When considering that this is but one leak, it is very concerning.

French study finds tumors in rats fed GM corn

(Reuters) - Rats fed a lifetime diet of Monsanto's genetically modified corn or exposed to its top-selling weedkiller Roundup suffered tumours and multiple organ damage, according to a French study published on Wednesday.

Although the lead researcher's past record as a critic of the industry may make other experts wary of drawing hasty conclusions, the finding will stoke controversy about the safety of GM crops.

In an unusual move, the research group did not allow reporters to seek outside comment on their paper before its publication in the peer-reviewed journal Food and Chemical Toxicology and presentation at a news conference in London.

Iron Rice Bowl and The Ryan Budget

The is an ancient expression from China regarding an “Iron Rice Bowl” and it has to do with Bureaucracy and being fed for the rest of your life once you pass the civil service test and serve the Emperor, god on earth.

The communist mechanism of Mao used the phrase also and it indicated the ideal state in which all in service to the state in a communist sense would be fed forever.  The state might not be perfect but the iron rice must, should go on forever.

Young Paul Ryan who is a perfect Catholic, but without any traditional “social teaching” values from all accounts, and who has served all his adult life in service to the state and not in private industry has come up with an proposed financial outline to remake the United States Federal Budget and Bureaucracy on a scale not seen since Lenin, Stalin and Mao and not since the Russian and Chinese Communist revolutions.

It is amazing how the elitist front office ideas of private industry have invaded government thinking and are being proposed in a lopsided theoretical manner by green country club gated community minded types like Paul Ryan.  Doesn’t he know how painful to 40 to 60 percent of the population his redistribution of wealth and rice from the iron rice bowl will be in reality to 40 to 60 percent of the population who would get a voucher and like with some stick thrown for a dog, get the master's command to “go and fetch suitable healthcare with that voucher" (a worthless in reality piece of paper).  Yeah right.  Wishful fantasy I think and not very “brilliant” managerial social engineering.

Same thing with food stamps. Like taking food out of the mouths of the young, the poor, the disabled and the elderly and in return getting a pamphlet from the government on the virtues of self-reliance and telling the story of President Romney’s ancestor’s trekking through the wilderness to the paradise of Utah and by the grace of God and all that.  And why aren’t you self-reliant and why should I feed you with taxes on my billionaires when my ancestors set a standard of performance “you” little “people” seem to fail to understand or grasp.

A lot of hungry people start revolutions and pull monarchs out of their Versailles beltway bubbles or Winter Palaces when the Iron Rice Bowl of the state fails to deliver on its social contract with the governed.

This recently resurrected elitist eighteenth and nineteenth century view of the world as opposed to a world and its modern interconnected global needs just doesn't cut muster or the mustard with The Ryan Budget thingy and the “modern” GOP.

These out of touch at the top elites in business, politics and religion are about to find out by the simple rules of physics, of the shift of gravity that happens when the 99% start jumping up and down and cause earthquakes.  Palaces and penthouses will collapse down to street level with the people already on the ground, practiced in the politics of everyday rice bowl reality.

History will repeat itself unless the greedy pull back and learn to live with mere billions and not trillions of private wealth.
