Jared Kushner’s legal tax evasion shows how wealthy real estate investors steal from taxpayers

The New York Times published a new report showing how Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, largely avoided paying any federal income tax between 2009 and 2016.

The financial documents the Times reviewed offer a detailed look at how real estate developers like Kushner and Trump manipulate the law to essentially steal millions of dollars — legally — from the American people. And the Republican tax cuts last year made it even easier to do.

The way the tax loophole works is that the law assumes that buildings lose value every year. But as The Times explains, that’s not really true; in fact, they often gain value. But even if they’re gaining value, developers like Kushner can legally claim that the law’s assumptions about depreciation are true, inflating the loss of value so they can report a loss of income.

The company’s assets are then integrated into the owner’s personal taxes, meaning Kushner could report that, although he personally made a ton of money, he “lost” more because of what Kushner Companies purportedly lost in the value of its buildings. He can then deduct that loss from his taxes for that year and in the years to come, leaving him with no taxes to pay — even though he’s actually raking in a fortune in profits.

I see a long distance pattern to these so called sleeper cells in the U.S.. Long distance is someone or some group trying to pull off a complicated bomb construction and bomb detonation here in America. The people such as the underwear bomber at Christmas or the Times Square attempted bomber - they did not succeed in that long distance connection from some ancient culture and religious hate thing overseas.

People that blow themselves up in Iraq and Afghanistan are poor and certain that their reward is in Paradise with the Prophet.

Foreign born people who live here, are educated here and have opportunities here are perhaps contaminated by our secular culture that chooses life over death.

That to drive into Times Square, perhaps playing some Timothy McVeigh like tape in your head, and walking away from a half assed built bomb and to save your half assed half American life is a flaw in the present evolving equation of hate, terror and mass murder.

To be young and stupid like this Times Square suspect is to be ideal and zealous in your hate against the U.S. even while you want your cake (life) and eat it too like an American.

This is really a screwed up equation of modern proportions on the domestic and international global world stage. I hope this is a temporary scenario in the ongoing long term march to the future.

I have to take everything with a grain of salt lately with the MSM.

This Mutallab guy from Nigeria, the suspected terrorist on flight 253 into Detroit on Christmas Day – I have to wonder who set this “terrorist” gig up.

The GOP is in full – shut down the government at all costs - Piranha mode - for the 2010-2012 elections. That's normal politics in a time of economic chaos and global terrorism?

In the past few days, an African face on the news with the word “terrorist” or "Al-Qaeda" planted under that face seems like too much of a casual visual coincidence considering the many months of that same visual set up by the GOP baggers and Fox News and Rush hate Radio - as in Obama's face with the "terrorist" label on placards at FOX/Tea Bagger staged events.

Is it possible that independent agents, independent of currently employed and official US intelligence, in fact traitors, might be at work to sabotage the Executive branch and sabotage the country as well. Is a fifth column in our government a very real possibility? I think the answer is YES!

That stories and situations are not only being planned in Al-Qaeda’s headquarters wherever that gypsy caravan is today or will be next week? That it is a real possibility that traitors or hired out parties can get hold of and manipulate young Muslims and put them in a position to upset Christmas Day, a sacred Christian and family holiday?

More than the Al-Qaeda mobile taco stand could be operating out in the field, the many fields out there in the middle east and mid Asia. This, to top off one year of “Shut Down the American Domestic Government” of Barack Obama – sounds too much of a convenience to this cynic’s ear or stomach, gut to believe.

To end a decade where more than likely - and more like insider information brought down the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center – that that decade ends with a Brit trained twit peeing his pants on a jet and ruining a home made cocktail bomb in his shorts – some things just don’t make sense to me. This is the same Al-Qaeda in 2009 as in 2001? Does it make sense to you?

With Cheney whining and hoping for a terrorist attack to justify his personal reign of terror over our democratic government for eight years, and Rush Limbaugh who wants Obama to fail and the country too as well by inference, one have to wonder where our true friends are and where our true enemies lie, or lie with, or lie within.

Is there a real fifth column in America trying to destroy what is left of our democracy and our free enterprise system??? One has to ask that. And who besides the wacko right, the rodents, would be in full throttle behind such a fifth column foraging amidst the shards of and in cover of the once Grand Old Party? And let’s not forget FOX anti-Obama/entertainment “news”.

I went off half cocked in my recent rant on this Detroit incident about Suicide Virgin Humpers.

I saw the following link on a blog on the Guardian UK related to the attempted terrorist attack. The comment with that link was I believe later removed. I do not remember the rhetoric attached to the link but it may have been offensive. I did not despair because I read the link and took it with a grain of salt. Even if true, this testimony from two lawyers supposedly on Flight 253 could be false. MI-5 may have pressed the Guardian to remove the link etc. I was waiting for further second hand confirmation that this story was not a hoax, a Heene baloon boy free publicity thing?

Haskell said he and his wife were sitting on the ground near their boarding gate in Amsterdam, which is when they saw Mutallab approach the gate with an unidentified man.

Kurt and Lori Haskell are attorneys with Haskell Law Firm in Taylor. Their expertise includes bankruptcy, family law and estate planning.

While Mutallab was poorly dressed, his friend was dressed in an expensive suit, Haskell said. He says the suited man asked ticket agents whether Mutallab could board without a passport. “The guy said, 'He's from Sudan and we do this all the time.'”

Mutallab is Nigerian. Haskell believes the man may have been trying to garner sympathy for Mutallab's lack of documents by portraying him as a Sudanese refugee.

The ticket agent referred Mutallab and his companion to her manager down the hall, and Haskell didn't see Mutallab again until after he allegedly tried to detonate an explosive on the plane.

I saw the link briefly listed on Drudge and yesterday it showed up in Google news spotlight but only briefly. Finally today a legitimate new source, the Detorit Free Press has followed through on the story.

Lori Haskell said that FBI agents spoke with her and her husband, Kurt, Tuesday morning after the two spoke to news media outlets about Kurt Haskell's account that he saw an older, well-dressed Indian man help suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab in his effort to board the flight in Amsterdam, Netherlands, without a passport.

I expect a deadend on the story. Nip it in the bud so to speak. Dallas style coverup?

No sooner than this failed plot got some media steam than Senator Joe Liebermann got out his price placard, wearing it on his back, his vote and opinion for sale at various scales – gets on the "we have to invade Yemen" bandwagon because this is where the terrorist was trained etc.

Yemen is Saudi Arabia’s back door. If the Saudis can’t handle it, well it is time to do a “Mission Accomplished” and march into Riyahd tomorrow. Why settle for the toe nail clippings in Yemen when you can eat the whole roasted cow just a few more miles down the road.

The Romans stayed in power for centuries with Bread and Circus. There is plenty of Circus – the Media. But where is the Bread (oil)? Where is the Bread? Forget the Fear Factor bullshit. What’s in it for us the American People to turn a blind eye to global injustice and eternal war?

It is time for some sense in our foreign policy. The tail of the dog, the fifth column, the enemy within, has got to stop wagging the nation - wagging us to death.

Minarets Here There Everywhere

I waited for the Swiss plebiscite on the banning of Minarets at Mosques to go off the front page of the news before writing this.

In short, the Swiss, a country with three languages and cultures, German, French and Italian decided that it would be okay to ban Minarets, the Islamic Tower attached to a Mosque, from all future construction in the country. Traditionally the Minaret is a place where Muslims are called to prayer by human voice, Mohammed did not like bells.

There are already four minarets in Switzerland. I don’t know how many Mosques or Islamic Centers there are but out of a population of approximately eight million Swiss, three to four hundred thousand are Muslim. From the news I have read, most of these Muslims are Albanian and many of them refugees more than likely escaped from the Kosovo conflict in the breakup of Yugoslavia of a decade ago.

From what I have read, these Muslims are quite secular, not fanatical. In appearance and dress they are like everybody else.

So what’s the problem? I would have to imagine it stems from the fact that Switzerland has over twenty percent of its permanent and temporary population as non-Swiss born foreigners. The Swiss in a global world are having to deal with cultural shocks that Americans takes mostly in stride with it diverse history and population.

Perhaps a minaret painted or decorated in bright middle-eastern colors conflicts with the dull gray tones of traditional Swiss architecture. In any case, this ban is symbolic of a resistance or a grass roots feeling that change is not a good thing in Switzerland.

Even if Islam is not overtly threatening to the average Swiss citizen, there must be overflow of media from Germany and France where tensions with Muslims exist. The Germans have a large foreign based worker population and in particular from Islamic countries. The French are obsessed with Muslim women wearing traditional headdress in every day society. With the French I have wonder if their attitudes would change if Muslim women wore designer Hermes scarves – oh just a thought.

In all fairness to the Swiss there is no reciprocity in Saudi Arabia where only a few churches are allowed, without bell towers for diplomats and foreign workers only. Even then these plain church buildings are usually out of sight and reached down low traffic streets and alley ways. But the Saudis are not really the issue here.

Europe is changing. The world is changing. Even in the Muslim world, westernization continues in some degree, if only in the use of western style technology and the Internet, even if there is not outward signs of change. East meets West. West meets East and frictions exist.

The picture of a mosque above is of the local one here in Staten Island, not the only one in New York City. The building you see is a recycled factory. The Minaret is non functioning. It is decoration and a recycled chimney from that old factory. Albanian Muslims also escaped here to America from Kosovo. They are European in outward appearance and they have revitalized a dying neighborhood, saving it from urban blight.

I remember after 911, Police cars were parked in front of the gates of this complex 24/7 for a few weeks. The Police were there is insure the freedom of worship clause not directly mentioned but inherently implied in our Constitution. Other than that I do not think many people notice or care that the building is there. It blends in with the rest of a mini-global culture of everyday America.

Day by day and year by year we are all becoming more alike in a Global sense. The ride from here to the future can at times be bumpy. In the future the road gets paved and local customs and habits will still exist but more or more people will be thinking globally and still acting locally. That may seem to be a strange paradigm and dynamic. But that is the likely energy flow of things going forward to a global culture and future.
