Birther and Sedevacantist Movements - Similarities

Is the Oval Office truly empty???

Doing my hobby of researching the millions of pages of faith, Christian and otherwise, a thought occurred to me (I do have them on occasion) (and they are not all eccentric).


It struck me that the whole birther movement, in the denial of legitimacy of the 44th POTUS (a god of sorts with a small g) is not unlike the Sedevacantist (empty chair) movement in the RC church.


That aside from the Clinton campaign starting this whole birth certificate thing in 2008, the ferocity of this continued meme/myth/urban legend thing has overtones of religion all over it as much as it has coded racism.


Just looking at the flash mobs at the White House, Times Square and the Phillies/Mets game on Sunday night reminds me that the super patriotism thing is a tribal, almost secular religion thing. Every recognizable country has at the base of its identity this “we are great” “we are the only true ones” “we are first” tone of things.


As such I wish I had the time and money to follow through on this theme. I see a parallel between the Birther movement and the “Sedevacantists” in the RC church who believe that the Chair of Peter has been empty (Sede Vacante) since the death of Hitler’s pope Pius XII – the Great Appeaser.


John XXIII and his Vatican council thing ticked off a lot of traditionalists and their worship of the Latin mass thingy going in favor of the vernacular service. Modernism and democracy are both sins/depravities in the eyes of the RC dogma.


I have to wonder if the birther movement is a pure redneck populist movement. I have to wonder if big bucks behind the scenes from the likes of Mel Gibson and his more catholic than the pope Dad, along with Opus Dei justice Scalia and Sen. Santorum etc., have not been bankrolling this insane belief that the Oval Office is empty?


And all this birther religious like fervor or insanity is not being funded by church tax free money that should be otherwise taxed and put to better use?

In the strict interpretation of the ancient concept, Pagan means rustic and or country dweller in their religious beliefs system.

Birtherism is a fanatic form of secularized religion. Absolute belief and or faith in air is indeed a religious orgasmic event for some in the rural parts of fly-over America.

Deadbeat Donald Trump has now moved over into the racist anti-semite column of the GOP party with his announcement of his belief that Barack Obama is not a real American citizen.

Trump who has been restructuring his mythical billion dollar fortune for thirty years still owes more than he actually in theory has. Con artist, fraud, deadbeat, and now birther.

The fool published his so-called birth cirtificate in the MSM yesterday in the hopes not of baiting Obama but in joining the money men at the GOP into conning them out of cash and PAC funds. Cashflow must be slow in the economy even for the Donald.

Of course the birth certificate published is a hospital issued certificate which is invalid to prove American citizenship or get a passport or driver's license issued. Rules changed by Homeland Security after 911. The journalists who publish this tripe never bother doing any homework.

This Birther movement is of course racist because Obama's skin is black. I use the term anti-Semitic even though that term is often used against Jew haters but in fact it is a reference to language and not race. While Obama is distinctly African in origin. Secularism and the Tea Party

Christianity and the Tea Party = zero.

It does not take rocket science to notice the underlying unchristian message of the so called Tea Party political movement.

The primary underslying message of racism accumulates evidence with birthers who claim that the President was not even born in this country. Obama was born in Hawaii, one of those last two strange states that entered the union in 1959. Hawaii is the one with a bunch of islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Alaska is the large chunk of ice west of Canada.

Alaska has bred a favorite daughter in the form of Sarah Palin, a half term Governor. Palin’s Tea Party appeal of uttering words, verbal clutter onto the media airwaves does not make her a media whore but she is trying. While no direct racist, Palin buddies up to every screwball idea that comes out of the seemingly disenfranchised white middle class movement. In a way, her’s is part of a populist movement that springs up in hard times in America. The times make Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin shapes nothing and just stands there signing American flags for fans.

Together or separately, the Tea Party represents dissent. Big government is a problem if it is mismanaged. It is. But it is mismanaged by the Congress that puts politics first and fiscal responsibility second, third or wherever.

The Tea Party comes at you with more angles than a hand cut diamond. Birthers, anti-large government, get rid of minimum wage and social security, eliminate citizenship for the children born here of illegal immigrants etc. This makes for a stew of many flavors and textures. Nothing but fiscal responsibility and a good economy will get America out of its present economic hole in the ground.

Politics need to change to cooperation, a Christian virtue, on both sides of the aisle if that is the stated goal of a future together and not the future separate and splintered into a thousand petty interests. Chaos. Chaos is definitely a breeding ground of things unchristian.

When I use the word unchristian up front, I am talking about the lack of empathy that the average Tea Party-er has for the other guy in America. Eliminating the minimum wage or social security is kinda anti-human – would you not say?

Social safety nets help keep the big ball of wax together and moving along. Draconian nineteenth century ideas need not apply to the present situation which is what most Tea Party ideas end up sounding like.

So in the midst of entrenched secularism and atheism, the Tea Party sits waging its own agenda using standards surrounding them, namely secular, and definitely not Christian.

The GOP, having been the Christian Party these past twenty odd years now waits for Tea Party dissent to translate into votes for what is now a secular agenda of the moneyed few against the masses it would appear to me.

The media is partly to blame for this. The corporations that own the media are also part of some at present grand conspiracy of everyone having America shooting itself in the foot on real issues rather than cooperate and get back to being a reasonable great country again.

It is perhaps wrong of me to second guess the strategy of the sitting President fresh back from his Nobel Peace Prize and defense of Corporate Warfare Profits. Few if any could change the mess we are in no matter what the circumstances.

I have to back up at this point and go off half-cocked, I am good at that, and presume that The SCHINE EFFECT has kicked in for Obama – whereby he is only as good as his handlers and or the people he trusts or delegates authority to.

That said I am wondering where Madam President Hillary Clinton’s administration would be about here in time if she had out swung, one more lob, to Obama on the clay court and in a game of political tennis.

I do no think she would have done much different at this point of time than Obama except for Healthcare.

She would have put all the same incompetent fools in charge of the money, her husband’s fools, that Obama has also put in charge.

She would have increased the troop levels in Afghanistan.

The birthers/tea baggers would still be there but screaming rehashed Monica Lewinsky and Vince Foster – oh give us break you morons! The rhetoric may be moronic but their energy and anger are real. Let’s see if this Paid For-Grassroots BS goes anywhere. Or merges with forces of anger on the Left?

I think that about now Hillary would have been pushing for jobs more first than healthcare. A few more points down on the unemployment scales, say at 8.5 percent or so, may have made us not notice how a resuscitated Wall Street is up in Profits without job creation.

Money making money does not create wealth or growth anymore. In other words, Wall Street used to generate cash that ultimately ended up in factories, production, innovation and jobs. This does not happen anymore. There is a disconnect, a major disconnect, from the classic Wall Street model and in the past twenty years or so. This opinion is held by former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker.

We need business men who have to relearn what Classic American Business was all about. To put people and humanity back into the business spreadsheet formula for success.

While I do not necessarily see Hillary pulling a Eugene McCarthy on Obama, I can see where incompetence and charisma will only go so far along with the Schine Effect. The rest might be history and destiny for Hillary Rodham.

As for Goldman Sachs being the master for the moment of the planet and or universe. Unless it creates real growth and jobs out of Wall Street, you don’t have to be a seer to predict that within the next months or few years, on a Friday afternoon, GS, might get the very same knife in the back that was given to BS, Bear Stearns.

I see a common thread throughout all the current shouting and fuss over Health Care Reform legislation. The Birthers, Deathers, Town Hallers, exhibit a certain energy and strength and yet they are still delivering the same blob of whatever as they did during the recent campaign. The cause changes but the energy of it all speaks of some common roots – linguistic and primal.

What I see in looking at recent campaign tapes on You Tube and elsewhere is a sort of recycled five hundred year coded message that immigrants to America brought with them from religious persecution in Europe. And they, the insecure, the border line crazy, will not let go of it!

Indeed, the last bus stop from east to west was Los Angeles for many decades. The pioneers, the immigrants pushed westward to La La Land and carried with them some long festering fear and paranoia related to an imperfect freedom in America – imperfect because somehow someone or something will reach in and take freedom away. Once they got to the west coast there was no place to convert mental energy into travel – or to hide from your active fears and anxieties.

A blunderbuss at your door mirrored the real fear of attack by those natives on whose lands you were now in some European sense taking hold of. A need to carry arms mirrored the belief that no European country with its religious persecution was going to take away the American dream, whatever that is – it like the pursuit of happiness can be very elusive and from generation to generation takes on new meanings and nuances.

Listening to some key words in the current anger and fuss in Town Hall settings, I see different things. Many Americans feel out of touch with the bizarre way Washington rules itself and is not accountable to anybody, not even God. And not balancing a budget is just bad business and bad economic sense but it just goes on and on and on. Now that we have reached our credit limits with China, I see new overtures toward India and their potential lines of credit for the American consumer appetite – the modern day version of bread and circus to keep the mob under control.

Some key code words being tossed around right now in the streets and on talk radio are:

Big government – possibly the English Crown, Tudors and Stuarts, who perpetuated the religious persecution of commoners along with German princes.

Hitler – Satan – the prince of darkness used to be black until the nineteenth century and the invention of color lithography when he turns red.
