Japanese Christmas Traditions

In the growing global culture, the Japanese, some Japanese have adopted three basic Christmas traditions.

One is decorating with lights.  The other is to gather in groups and sing Beethoven's ninth as well as on Western New Year's Day.  That, some gift giving and Christmas Cake.  Strawberry short cake by any other name. Yum. Yum.

Christmas is not an official holiday in Japan with less than a 1% Christian minority.
