I am and or was once a free American

who rates the news? For years I have noticed that the major networks NBC, ABC and CBS all order their stories in the same order 9 times out of ten. And they all run their commercials at the same time, so there is no chance of channel surfing away from a commercial into another network's news. Last night with a humanitarian nightmare in Gaza, all three networks led with a story on "Ebola". Google by the way has a news headline page. Gaza does not rate on the main section. It had yesterday a tiny side headline - one. Does not reflect on the ethic ownership of Google btw - yeah right. Just call me mushroom and feed me more BS in the dark. I am and or was once a free American.

Hate Is A Commodity Of Morons - George Washington Bridge, A Symbol Of American Freedoms

George Washington Bridge NJ/NY Symbol of American Freedoms

I am not a regular viewer of NCR, National Catholic Reporter, a site independent somewhat of direct Catholic control, a so-called centrist POV but one that tows the party line in most instances. I do hear of articles through blogs that I view.

There was some fuss last week over an article over the death of priest in the past who had tried to minister to the LGBT community over the decades.

It was apparently comments on that article that caused NCR to shut down its comments app because of all the gay hate comments masked in anonymous named trolls.

The priest, a maverick in the AD of Philadelphia, Father Robert Nugent, was remembered in this recent article.

Well worth a read above.

But the real point to me is how the hate and threats and force of the Right is what we all have to fear especially when it shuts down civil discourse and true balanced free speech.

In many ways, the bully ways of the right, whether in shutting down traffic on the George Washington Bridge for vendetta or trolling hate of fellow humanity, Gays, is something we have all reason to be afraid of where all this anger and hate will lead this country to.

We ordered our Web editor to suspend the commenting feature and to hide all previously posted comments because of the malicious, abusive nature of the comments that have bombarded our site in recent days.
Comments will be suspended indefinitely. NCR editors will explore options that will allow commenting to return in a way that respects our writers, the subjects of our stories, and our readers. ,,,

Unfortunately, we have reached a point where the good that an open discussion can do is being outpaced by the damage it can cause when commenters do not respect civil discourse.

Comments that have appeared on the website in recent days have been vile and demeaning. We could no longer support hosting a Web feature that allows such despicable comments to appear, and that is why we ordered the suspension of that feature.

We apologize to anyone who was offended by these appalling comments.

Dixie Chicks - No Red State Freedom of Speech for these Wonderful Ladies - Duck Dynasty back to the Swamps Please

Anybody remember the Bush/Cheney Blood for OIL Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan - fought on America's Credit Card and how shamefully, shamelessly the Dixie Chicks were treated calling a Spade a Spade?

Church Snitches at Cardinal Newman Society Storm Troop and Alert Archbishop Chaput who Bans Father Helmut Schuller From Talking at Chestnut Hill College (Sisters of St. Joseph)

What would Archbishop Chaput do in Philadelphia, cradle of American Liberty?

Ban Free Speech of Course!

What would Generissimo Franco Do?...

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has stated that a Catholic college’s plans to host a priest who has advocated for the ordination of women would “damage the unity” of the Church, according to a statement released exclusively to The Cardinal Newman Society.

In 2011, Fr. Helmut Schüller of Austria was a leader in a movement that issued a “Call to Disobedience,” which advocated for the ability of divorced and remarried Catholics to receive sacraments as well as the ordination of women and married men.

Currently, Fr. Schüller is touring the United States on what’s called “The Catholic Tipping Point” tour. That tour is being sponsored by organizations such as Call to Action, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, Dignity USA, Future Church, New Ways Ministry, Women's Ordination Conference, and Voice of the Faithful among others.

Last month Cardinal Sean O’Malley reportedly barred Fr. Schüller from speaking in a parish in the Archdiocese of Boston.

Two Franco Brown Nose points awarded to Newman Society from Charles Chaput for Loyalty to their bishop. lol

Bishop Alexander King Sample Barred Free Speech in Marquette Michigan in 2009 - What a Creep!

Bishop Alexander King Sample

A rather bizarre story from 2009 when Bishop Sample of Marquette Michigan barred retired bishop of Detroit Bishop Thomas Gumbleton from giving a talk at a local Lutheran Church.  A Lutheran church, that's right.

Bishop Sample practicing his Religious Liberty to deny others in his secular  community Freedom of Expression and or Freedom of Speech? How typically Catholic these days in America.

When did Freedom of Speech in America become a crime Bishop Sample??? What planet do you live on?

Marquette has a population of 20k. The Catholics lost among the many more moose and guns on the upper peninsula, 50k, is less than many megachurches out west and down south.

The victims people Catholics of his upcoming transfer to Portland Oregon are in for a treat.  I think Portland used to have a reputation as a nesting place for eccentrics on the West Coast. It more recently has the rep of being the juvenile sex trafficking hub of the west coast (but "Seattle is Worse" see comments).

Great place to send a head in the sand bishop who does not even want another point of view expressed down the street in Moosetown on Nuclear Disarmament.

The Child Sex Trafficking problem just went away with the arrival of Bishop King Sample in Portland Oregon. It doesn’t exist in the Church and cannot therefore exist in the profane secular world as well.

Good luck Portland! Welcome to the seventeenth century. Wait for the upcoming "Bishop Sample Approved list of Street Conversations in Portland". LOL

Pass the buggy whip dude, please.

I read Bishop Alexander Sample's explanation in The Mining Journal of his decision to prohibit Bishop Gumbleton from speaking publicly.
Bishop Gumbleton was scheduled to speak at a prayer service at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on "Gospel's Call: Action for Peace," and at Peter White Library on "Vision for Peace: Abolition of Nuclear Weapons," both timely and critical issues. Bishop Sample's reasons were that questions may arise on controversial issues, e.g. homosexuality and ordination of women as priests. At the same time, however, he noted that these were not the issues of Bishop Gumbleton's talks, but questions may be asked about these issues and his duty was to shepherd us.
As an active member of the Catholic Church, I respect Bishop Sample's duty to shepherd us, but shepherding should not prohibit open dialogue and questions which may arise on controversial issues.

Jewish / Jesus View on Abortion vs. Fairytale Catholic Bishops View

Rep. Lisa Brown in the Michigan State House voted against a draconian anti-choice Abortion Bill.  She used a word “Vagina”, forbidden, censored to be used in that legislative body and the cunt Legislature censured her for expressing her first amendment right to freedom of expression.
Below her words and the curious Jewish view of Abortion, a view that a Jew like Jesus might have held considering the interpretation of Jewish Law it is based on. Curiously, it is 180 degrees opposite of what the Fairy-tale Bishops of the RCC church said it should be.
Jesus was no fairy, he was a real man. Real too were his beliefs in humanity and the rights of a mother over the unborn in cases of life crisis, unlike many in so-called shady moral authority in these end days of western civilization.
I'm Jewish. I keep kosher in my home. I have two sets of dishes. One for meat and one for dairy, and another two sets of dishes on top of that for Passover. Judaism believes that therapeutic abortions, namely abortions performed in order to preserve the life of the mother are not only permissable but mandatory. The stage of pregnancy does not matter. Wherever there is a question of the life of the mother or that of the unborn child, Jewish law rules in favor of preserving the life of the mother. The status of the fetus as human life does not equal that of the mother. I have not asked you to adopt and adhere to my religious beliefs. Why are you asking me to adopt yours?
Michigan is now in Catholic Sharia Law territory?
