Residents of State College could look into the sky and find one person's opinion on whether Joe Paterno's statue should stay outside the Penn State campus.

Face of a Hero or an Enabler?

It is difficult for people who only knew Joe Paterno through the lens of football to use other language to describe him.

And in a way if that was all he did with his prestige and power, then football is all he would want or deserve to be remembered for now.  But he enabled Sandusky and any accomplices he had, to systematically glean the countryside for boys without fathers to befriend victimize and rape these children for decades through the Second Mile tax free charity.

What Joe Paterno knew was more than the “I am innocent, he was a saint “ statements coming out the mouths of his family at present, a family that benefits from the millions of hush money Joe demanded from the Penn State Board of Trustees and got to take the truth to the grave with him.  

His wife’s church on campus is a chantry, a place with masses will be said forever for the soul of a corporate bastard that cared only about himself, his job and his phony reputation as a nice guy. Tell the families of all of Jerry Sandusky’s rape victims that Joe Paterno was basically a nice guy.  Yeah right.  Bastard!

His statue at Beaver Stadium is the last vestige of the innocence of the public and the public’s interest in football and the myth of Joe Paterno. That is why it is so hard to scrap the statue at a junk yard where it now belongs.  That and the fact that the fat cat donors coming into home games in their private and corporate jets want the myth of Joe Paterno to surround the surrealistic feel good world of Saturday afternoon college football.  They don’t want to hear about victims. They don’t care about victims.

That fat cat rich donors, some of them, are just as guilty as Jerry, Joe, and the Board of Trustees for letting child rape be something that poor boys had to endure at the expense of the corporate greed, power and prestige reality of American College Football. 

In a sense the scandal, as a mild term or descriptive, the crime of child trafficking of the Second Mile Charity for Sandusky and possibly his friends and rich Penn State donors, is a criminal matter in secular terms.

It is difficult for people also who have only known their parish priests as patriarchs, mentors or even friends but the bottom end of a hierarchical ladder that claims monopoly on the divine, to recognize that in the ranks, some priests are rotten apples and that the whole institution to protect itself will say anything, do anything, spend anything in order to protect the prestige of the religious institution.

That is why the American Bishops are trying to reopen the contraception matrix, to change the subject, in order to hide the ongoing buggery behind the scenes in the Church that the Bishops refuse and or are incapable of dealing with in human terms, not institutional terms.

I think that a lot of people are cowards that cannot give up the myths and fantasies that hurt others while they gluttonize on their favorite desserts of Football or God.

Football is nothing more than a game. But Sandusky raping young boys is a matter of life and death, of innocence lost. 

In the aftermath of Sandusky's arrest, Paterno was treated as a victim, a man who was caught up in something he wasn't aware of. Now we know that was a lie. 

Freeh produced the documents showing Paterno, his family and his legion of supporters lied in order to protect Paterno's name. All he cared about was breaking the all-time record set by Grambling State head coach Eddie Robinson. 

Paterno, and the other Penn State lackeys, had to know that turning Sandusky in could prevent "JoePa" from breaking that record. So they all stayed silent, and all the while young boys suffered in their own silence. 

When it's time to name the great coaches of college football, Robinson, Bear Bryant, Amos Alonzo Stagg and Knute Rockne will certainly be mentioned. Prior to the Freeh report, Paterno would have been on that list. But his actions in the Sandusky affair destroyed everything he accomplished in his career. 

Great coaches make the tough calls. When Paterno failed to make the toughest call of his life -- to the police to turn in his longtime friend -- he did more than cost his team a victory. Young boys lost something they can never recover. 

That's what cowards do, and Joe Paterno was a coward.

If anything, secret plans are under way to replace obsolete Beaver Stadium with a new 150,000 capacity Penn State Joe Paterno Memorial Football Stadium.  Governor Tom Corbett thinks he can find money in the Pennsylvania State Budget for important things like a new Stadium. It will create jobs, a no-bid construction project awarded by the state out of the Governor’s office that is.

Tom left cart blanche with his fellow crony trustee buddies meeting in Scranton about the new Stadium proposal. Absentee trustees like Tom Corbett trust his crony buddies on the board to do the right thing for themselves and hisself as well.  History shows that.

The Trustees secretly kind of like Joe’s Bronze finger sticking to the public similar to the way they have done the books all these successful years at Football and oh yeah, there is that education thing to be considered at Penn State too.

They also want to avoid making a rash decision in the heat of the moment. There has been considerable debate in the media about whether the statue should be taken down.

"You can't let people stampede you into making a rash decision," said one trustee, according to the ESPN report. "The statue represents the good that Joe did. It doesn't represent the bad that he did."

In board meetings in Scranton, Pa., held Thursday and Friday, some trustees believe the statue would have to be taken down at some point, but they decided that it would stand for the coming weeks and months.

The family of Joe Paterno are asking for a release of all the e-mails now painting a picture of Joe Paterno as a major player behind the scenes in cover up of Jerry Sandusky’s normal shower behavior with little boys in unsupervised Penn State Sports facilities. 

No doubt, the image of Paterno is more important than the lives of children ruined in this massive corporate level cover up of criminal activities.

Since Joe Paterno and his wife raised millions of cash to build their own church on campus, (Saint) Suzanne Paterno “Catholic Faith Center” Church.  No doubt Joe, when the e-mails look like he agreed to let Sandusky be turned into authorities,  took a 180 degree turn against the law and into cover up.  He did a U.S. Catholic Bishop thing on Sandusky regarding pedophilia cover-up.  The best person to talk to that would be both retired Bishop Ademec (bishop at the time of the Sandusky e-mails) and recently installed bishop Bartchak in 2011 of the Altoona diocese in charge of the Penn State stake.

These two bishops and other religious were thick as thieves and or like flies on honey at the dedication of the seven million dollar Paterno Memorial Church built on campus, August 2011, pictured above.

Of course you may have to offer Adamec and Bartchak immunity to share their confidential discussions with Joe Paterno.  But in the end, Joe was probably dumber than a door nail and probably acted on what he thought was the (typical) “moral authority” of the Catholic Church.

This is supposed to be a day when we honor the men who take care of their children, the men who nurture and teach their kids the difference between right and wrong and shelter and protect them from the evil and ugliness of the outside world.

But on this Father’s Day, the most important story in sports is about a man and a football program that are the antithesis of what this day represents. Jerry Sandusky and Penn State University not only failed to protect hopeless, helpless children, Sandusky stands accused of sexually abusing them and Penn State of shamefully turning a blind eye to it.

One after another, the alleged victims took the witness stand in recent days and tragically provided the sad, searing, grim, grotesque testimony of how Sandusky raped them — anally, orally, spiritually and psychologically. In all, Sandusky is on trial for 52 criminal counts of sexual abuse involving 10 alleged victims during a 15-year period.

If you haven’t already lost all respect for Penn State, its administration and its iconic former coach Joe Paterno, I suggest you read the gut-wrenching, stomach-turning accounts of what Sandusky allegedly did to these young boys.

Essentially, according to prosecutors, Sandusky started his Second Mile charity for troubled youths and set himself up as a father figure for lost boys from broken homes who desperately needed a male role model in their lives. Sandusky was the man who pretended to be their sworn protector but instead turned out to be their sexual predator.

One skinny 18-year-old, identified as Victim 9, took the stand and told his sad, sickening story. He grew up in a trailer park; his mother worked in a pub, and his father was who knows where. He was typical of the type of kid Sandusky’s charity was supposed to rescue.

He testified that when he was younger, his mother kept sending him to Sandusky’s house because she thought he needed a father figure in his life. Little did she know that while her son slept in the basement of Sandusky’s home, the former Penn State assistant coach allegedly forced him into oral and anal sex.

The kid was 12 years old and weighed just 67 pounds then. He testified that he would sometimes scream, but nobody could hear him. He would sometimes resist, but nobody could help him.

“There was no fighting against him,” Victim 9 told the jury. “Look at him. He’s a big guy. He’s way bigger than me. What was I supposed to do?”

The saddest part of all is that this could have been stopped long ago if Paterno and Penn State had done something when they first learned Sandusky might be abusing boys. Former Penn State assistant coach Mike McQueary testified that he told Paterno and other Penn State officials about an incident in 2001 when he walked into the Penn State locker room and saw Sandusky having sex in the shower with a prepubescent boy. “In hindsight,” Paterno told The Washington Post before he died a few months ago, “I wish I had done more.”

Paterno, of course, did nothing except tell his athletic director, who then proceeded to also do nothing. Sandusky, even though he mysteriously resigned as Paterno’s defensive coordinator years ago, was even allowed to keep an office in the athletic complex until police started investigating him last year.

And what we have now is the most disgusting, despicable scandal in the history of college athletics, the college-football equivalent of the Catholic Church for decades covering up for clergymen who were sexually abusing children.

How could this ever happen?

Aren’t college-football coaches such as Paterno and Sandusky supposed to be the ultimate father figures?

But on this day, Sandusky stands accused of raping young boys, while Paterno and his superiors are all accomplices.

Penn State Independent Cover Up Begins - Louis Freeh on Scene - Pedo State No More - Nittany Jitbags No More!

Louis Freeh, Former misDirector of the FBI, famous for mediocrity, missing files, and letting key witnesses disappear or merely walk away in the Waco Inferno Mess or the Oklahoma City Bombing, has been brought in to cover up this Catholic Pedo Scandal conduct an impartial independent investigation for Penn State of the Jerry Sandusky incident which may or may not have involved a mere handful of kids.

Even before Director Freeh has unpacked the decorative chotskies for his desk in a hallway at Old Main, a major theme has emerged.

The Lone Magic Rapist Theory will be the final meme proved beyond a shadow of a doubt in the soon to be infamous Freeh Report at Penn State. This theory, with proven roots in bullshit and government propaganda and mimics the Magic Bullet theory, handcrafted for the Warren Commission in the JFK Conspiracy cover up, has emerged. Hell Pennsylvanian Arlen Spector sold his soul and made a whole lifetime career of public service mooching on the government dole off of making something out of nothing - magic.

The American Public will buy.  They bought Arlen for close to forty years. Poor saps.

Anyway, the fact that all these lay Catholics are allegedly involved in the alledged crimes and now cover up, w/uber-Catholic Freeh, makes one wonder if this is merely a laity plot or the Catholic bishops shared, share, in any of the profits?  

The PC answer is that Sandusky should not be persecuted because of his devoutness to his faith in his singular, acting alone, in alledgedly buggering little kids, left and right, on Campus.  Otherwise the Catholic bishops will be yelling anti-catholicism and rightfully so.  

That Joe Paterno, a pillar of his church, could not have looked away while dozens or hundreds of needy kids got passed around campus, to sports announcers, corporate board rooms and the very halls of Congress and let’s not forget the White House or Supreme Court (wink-nod) (;*). (that’s two wink-nods on catholic majority scotus, that is)

End of story on the Catholic theory of child traffickng.  Good Catholics could not possible look the other way while child abuse was evident in their very midst and community.  Yeah right. How do you spell Cardinal Bernard Law?

So the fault lay with the staff of Penn State.  Existing rules have been reviewed.  They are inadequate.  Sorry.  They will be changed.

The NCAA is going to investigate this pedophile mess at Penn State.  That is like the USCCB putting out another paid for white paper on priests and buggery.  

If the NCAA could not or did not stop these crimes against humanity done under their willful noses, what exact good can they do now except pay for a white paper saying how they came in, investigated and now everything is safe again at Penn State.  Safe to do sports business as usual again, emphasis on the word busine$$.

Joe Paterno did not sell his soul to Penn State in the last decade or two.  He sold it very early in his career long before any of his talent or luck kicked in to make him so successful and an American Football Icon.  He sold it to that silent secret male only crony club that dominates and rules every college, university and corporation in America.  

Thing is with selling your soul, it is not so easy to buy it back as that myth might seem to indicate.

But if you know you have looked the other way in terms of in-house corruption, possible kickbacks, freebie drugs, prostitutes and cash in white envelopes to Sports Journalists, money laundering through sports foundations and not to mention the added bonus of looking the other way on the pedophilia (kid rape racket on campus) thing, maybe you or your spouse should build a Chantry.

A Chantry is a private chapel or altar in a cathedral dedicated specifically to constant prayers and masses said in the name of the deceased and for the purpose of relieving their sentence in purgatory for all the sins they, usually kings and princes, had to do in the name of the greater good of the state.

Henry VIII outlawed these funded rackets, mostly to steal the funding, but also because any good Protestant knows that you are either saved or not.  That once dead, all the prayers in the universe cannot get you out of hell if you were a like a total royal bastard or nasty prick pain in the ass in your lifetime - in other words, a monster.

I find it ironic that something like a month after Joe Paterno signs his share of his  house over to his wife, his wife is dedicating the Paterno Family Chantry on the Penn State Campus.  That chapel is no doubt for the purpose of praying, and praying, and praying for all eternity to get Joe Paterno’s soul out of Purgatory. 

Prayers for the forgiveness of the things he found necessary to do as a prince on campus and for the deeds, ugly and perhaps borderline legal to keep the seats filled, the cash flowing, out of Beaver Stadium, the second largest stadium in the Western Hemisphere, capacity 106,572.  That’s a lot of stadium for the virtual middle of nowhere in the middle of the vast dark forests of central Pennsylvania.

Does the stadium wag its tail on the Penn State Campus or is Penn State merely the tail?

Whatever. 

I’ll say a pray for Joe while he is alive and fighting now lung cancer.  I am not a total bastard.  But prayers after he is dead is a waste of time.  You are either saved or not saved.  The prayers at his Campus Chantry will go on so long as the funding continues.  I hope they haven’t invested the Chanty’s foundation/funds too heavily in the Wall Street casino scam.

What the Hell Happened in Paterno-ville Pennsylvania?

It is hard not have an opinion about what went wrong in Paterno-ville Pennsylvania and or the Penn State campus, State College, Pa..

It may have been coincidence but Joe signed over his rights to his house, value 560k, over to his wife alone, last summer for $1.  No estate or tax advantages but an indication of things to come?  How long has the sword, ready to fall, been dangling over his head? How long has the truth been hidden in Happy Valley?

 

He went so quietly like he knew it was coming, whatever it was.  We have an idea of what it is.  That he somehow had knowledge or complicity in the Sandusky thing whatever that thing is, besides the child obsession thing, was it blackmail, money laundering funneled through his scam, his charity? Or something else? Time may reveal the answers.  Time may continue to hide the truth.

What did Joe Paterno sell his soul for?  Did he have to sell it? His skills and some luck put him on top of the mountain called success for decades. One has to wonder what demons the man held within himself and his sacred persona.  Only he can answer that. He seemed like a humble enough guy.  The house he has lived in for over forty years is quite modest though IMO way overpriced. 

Ran into an article by Reuters about how the Penn State Brand is now tarnished and pretty much every corporate sponsor except Nike has abandoned the U.S.S. Nittany Lion.

Everything in America is a commodity it would seem, a Brand.

They are removing Joe Paterno’s statue outside Beaver Stadium over Thanksgiving.

The district attorney who tried and failed to prosecute Jerry Sandusky in 1998 after reports of sexual abuse emerged, has been missing since 2005 and was declared legally dead in July. 

Ray Gricar disappeared on April 15 six years ago after telling his girlfriend he was going for a drive. 

His body was never found, only his abandoned car and his laptop which had been tossed in the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania without its hard drive.

In 1998, Gricar had attempted to bring a case against Penn State former football defence coordinator Jerry Sandusky on child rape charges.

The case of Sandusky, accused of years of abuse of boys that allegedly was covered up by school officials, has shaken the university and its football programme.

Last night, legendary head coach of Penn State Joe Paterno was fired amid allegations of a cover up.

When it came to the Sandusky allegations 13 years ago, friends and former co-workers said Gricar would never have backed down if he had a strong case.

The lawyer's nephew Tony Gricar told The Patriot-News: 'People ask why Ray did not prosecute, and I have no problem saying, because he clearly felt he didn't have a case for a ''successful'' prosecution.

'One thing I can say is that Ray was beholden to no one, was not a politician.'

The DA had a 'bitter taste in his mouth' for the Penn State program and Coach Sandusky, added his nephew. 

Montour County District Attorney Robert Buehner Jr, a friend of the missing man, told the New York Times that if Gricar had committed suicide, he would have wanted his body found. 

No suspects have ever emerged after investigations into Gricar's death.
