Pope Francis attacks Blogs as the Source of False Media Stories by way of his Archbishop in Westminster?

Some of the traditional Catholic blogs I read in Britain have sent a fine barrage of words back at the Archbishop in Westminster for his fine fair thee well homily in his Mass for Pope Francis on April 10.

Aside from the standard boilerplate homily came the demand for silence and obedience and a slap at gossip in blogs being the source of media stories.

Whether the gossip or media stories have any truth or weight seems beside the point. Archbishop Nichols seems to be talking for Francis?

I have already stated one way or the other that Francis with his shady past and direct knowledge of crimes against humanity in Argentina’s Dirty War made him the perfect candidate for pope to protect Benedict and his crew of crony criminals still lurking around the Vatican, hiding from international justice.

I have to wonder if Nichols talks for Francis or Nichols is thin skinned and afraid of the same fate as his neighbor to the north, Cardinal O’Brien in Scotland?

Pope Francis understands this in practical terms. He has already identified two kinds of behaviour that destroy love in the Church. They are complaining and gossiping. He is a practical man. He knows that we live in a society in which complaining and gossip is a standard fare. They sell newspapers and attract us to blogs because we love to hear complaints and to read gossip.

But Pope Francis is clear: they should have no place in the Church.

Don't get into this game of a life of complaints.' Then, in another memorable phrase, he added that some ‘stew their lives in the juice of their own complaining.' 

 And gossip, too, he says, is a betrayal of Jesus. For when we gossip we see the lives of other people as merchandise, something to be exchanged for our own advantage. He said: 'I don't know why, but there is a dark joy in gossiping. Sometimes we begin by saying nice things about another, but then we slip into gossip, making the object of our chatter merchandise to be bartered. Let us ask forgiveness because when we do this to a friend, we do it to Jesus because Jesus is in this friend.' 

 We, as Catholics, are always ready to profess our love for the Lord. But now Pope Francis is calling us to show that love in down-to-earth ways. How wonderful it would be if our Church was known to be a place that was free of the sound of complaining and the whisper of gossip!

Beast Afoot in Watertown Mass.

From what I hear about these two bomber suspects, they were hanging around, blending in at MIT.

They got dropped off the moon and were sent here to kill.  The fact that they had little cash and had to rob a 7/11 says a lot about their handlers.

America has been lucky so far in terms of the imported traveling in kind of terrorists. It is hard to get hold of explosives here.  Not like you can transport that stuff over the mountains on the backs of mules or camels.

But there is another thing too. People from afar only see the surface of America and do not truly feel what we natives see and feel. 

Matter of perception. 

So simple and yet so very complex in reality.

Whose reality is the problem I think.

It is what I always saw looking around the icons of New York and realizing that foreigners don’t know how to pick the right targets to hurt us symbolically.  

They do not understand us. Thank God for that.

They could only take aim at the bigger things around in terms of icons but not truly mainstream America as far as I am concerned – the World Trade Center and the Pentagon in 2001 as an example. (nothing close to our hearts)

That aside.  The emerging global culture is going both ways and right now that two way thing seems very violent.

The suspects had a shootout at the 7/11 killing a cop and then carjacked a SUV. So much like an American TV show. The chase. The shootout in Watertown. The door or door manhunt.

Life imitates art. American art – TV? 

Oh well. It is a start of sorts. They want to destroy us. They want to understand us. They want to imitate us. They want to be us. But yet they don’t want Mickey D’s on Main Street, Dirt Street, wherever, their-ever. 

Our sense of Local, like our God, not their sense of Local or like their God. How strange.

Strange dance of mutual attractions. Whatever.

Pope Francis the Cheapskate Stiffs Vatican Serfs on Traditional New Pope Bonus

Pope Francis, used to stiffing little people on the truth i.e. his role in the Dirty War in Argentina, has decided to forego the transitional bonus given to Vatican employees on the election of a new pope.

The reason? 

A 2011 deficit. Money that lined Bertone’s relatives and cronies' pockets then, and now a cool million or two to refurbish the New Retirement Palace of EPBXVI - Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI.

Like Margaret Thatcher’s 10 million pound funeral made so easily available when 11 million is cut from the national budget for school arts programs, the peasants in the rank and file Vatican staff category just don’t understand the big picture of global finances from crony crook great financial minds.

Now that Francis is eating cafeteria food in the his hotel cafeteria, I wouldn’t eat it if I were him. 

Disgruntled little people like cooks and servers may spit in it like in the rest of the western world in a new sacred tradition of a new emerging wage slave class of unappreciated, ignored, unseen labor.

A memorial to commemorate the work of the Friends Ambulance Unit and the Friends Relief Service is under construction at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire.

 It will present  the Religious Society of Friends and what Quakers stand for to millions of people in the UK and abroad, and provide a space for reflection and silent worship.

 Its simple structure in stone brings to mind a meeting for worship. The circular seating will serve as a setting for contemplation and express our vision of reconciliation in times of conflict. Wording carved on the seats will illustrate Friends’ commitment and witness to peace.
