[quote]

A New Jersey state trooper assigned to Gov. Chris Christie's protective detail was arrested for theft at the Cabela's in Berks County last month, police said.

The (Bergen) Record is reporting that Trooper William A. Carvounis, 35, was arrested Jan. 8 for allegedly stealing $267 worth of ammunition from the outdoors retailer, located at the junction of Interstate 78 and Route 61 in Tilden Township.

When he was arrested, Carvounis asked police for a break, Tilden Township Police Chief William McElroy told The Record.

"We don't do that," McElroy said.
