Cardinal Dolan, the carpetbagger Archbishop of New York from out west in fly-over country, has yet to take his first New York City Subway ride in imitation of Pope Francis and his latest humble campaign stuff. As such, no surprises as Timmy gets all comfortable back in his nest on Madison Avenue next to St Pat's Cathedral.
The headline from the New York Times (bow your head) headline of:
“Dolan
Says the Catholic Church Should Be More Welcoming to Gay People”
was a bit
misleading.
But the Brits as usual in the Guardian UK tell a strait-er truth in
that the Great Moral Authority of the High Priest of the GOP (closeted) Party
is still a member in good standing of the Benedict Party faction in the Vatican
and a likely front runner in the campaign to replace Francis in a handful of
months of that aged monarch’s likely short reign as Bishop of Rome.
America's most high-profile Catholic official, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, has warned that the church needs to "do better" to ensure its "defense of marriage is not reduced to an attack on gay people". But he added that gay people were only entitled to "friendship" not "sexual love".Asked about gay marriage in a week when the US supreme court heard two cases regarding same sex marriage, the archbishop of New York told ABC's This Week: "We want your happiness. You are entitled to friendship. But we also know that God has told us that the way to happiness, that – especially when it comes to sexual love – that is intended only for a man and woman in marriage, where children can come about naturally."
Speaking on Easter Sunday, Dolan cautioned that the church had not done a good job of defending its views on marriage. "I admit, we haven't been too good at that. We try our darndest to make sure we're not anti-anybody. We're in the defense of what God has taught us about – about marriage. And it's one man, one woman, forever, to bring about new life," he said. "We've got to better… to try to take that away from being anti-anybody."
Dolan told ABC's George Stephanopoulos that sometime "by nature, the church has got to be out of touch with concerns, because we're always supposed to be thinking of the beyond, the eternal, the changeless."
.
What a load of crap. Watched "Pope Joan" for the first time last night. Great movie and history lesson. These closet queens are really out of touch with reality.
ReplyDeleteWhen ever I see that corrupt buffoon in public, I do not see Jesus, I see rather a narcissistic Pharisee / Temple High Priest who cannot see or understand God or the People of God. I see a corrupt priest owing everything to his oligarch master(s) - i.e. Pontius Pilate and or Tiberius Caesar. In other words a waste of human shit on the sacred planet.
